Dude that is awesome. I have been a bow hunter for over 40 years and you reached the pinnacle of archery. Taking a big bear with primitive home made equipment is on another level. Total respect!
I know men that have been around a lot longer than you that will never know the sense of accomplishment that you have at this time. Congratulations sir.
Man. Awesome story, amazing video, great production and song choices, and most of all so cool you did it as primitive as you could. What a hunt. What a beautiful bear. Kudos to you, my friend.
Buddy this is amazing i actually did the same thing this year for the first time with my self bow and coral point with a nice buck congratulations man nobody else can really understand the feeling it brings! Welcome to the club
From NE Oklahoma, congratulations on your hunt. I wish I would have learned to make bows as a younger man, now im in my 60s with bad sholders and back. I guess I will just dream, GOD bless young man.
Thanks! Most of the camera work is a canon t6i, the high zoom clips of the bear are a Sony camcorder (I really need a more stable tree arm for it as you can tell) and the the shot wasn’t GoPro hero 8. Dji mini 2 drone
@@Traditionalbowhunter thanks for the info. I just made the switch to traditional in the last year or so. This will be my first season 100% traditional. I’ve got a t7i and a GoPro hero 9(I think..). I’m hoping to capture some adventures this season.
Absolutely outstanding. You trad guys are the real deal. As a compound shooter who would love to switch to a traditional bow but lacks the confidence to do so, I very much look up to you guys
I'm 57 years old. Played with the trad stuff for a long time while I hunted with a compound. I finally committed to the longbow a couple of years ago. Last season I took a 140 class 9 point in velvet at 12 Yards. By far the most memorable hunt of my 47 years of chasing whitetails. My point is this, life is short. I wish I had made the switch decades ago. If I can do it so can you. Keep your shot distance short. That's what it's all about anyway! GO FOR IT!
What a kind, decent thing to say. Well done, MollyDogg. If you want to make the switch, don't do like I did and think you can teach yourself. Find a local club or even an individual who can school you on the basics as well as the finer points. The equipment may look simple, but there's way more to it than meets the eye. I wasted a lot of time on bad habits I'd developed because I was too stubborn to look for guidance or because I thought I knew what I was doing. Don't be me. Best wishes.
Great video lm also a traditional hunter and bear hunter congrats on a great bear an old sow is a smart animal great accomplishment l have killed a deer with flint but not a bear keep it up brother
Awesome video, awesome shot and awesome bear with an awesome bow. looked like right here on top of Rich Mountain near Mena Arkansas. I have seen many a bear in these mountains as well as several mountain lions. It was awesome to see you in the process of bow build to knapping your head. I wish that I could see good enough and feel good enough in my fingers to knap or I would be making my heads as well. I love making and shooting my Osage bows. I had a bruiser one year come down to my house and take a whole bag of dog food off the porch, When I finally caught up with him, my Airedale kept him away from me and I left him to eat it all. Never left a bag out again, even for 30 minutes, that was all it took for him to get it. Now I am too old and crippled up to get out there but still try by the house. Very cool my friend
What an awesome hunt! Can I ask where in Oklahoma this is? I'm in south central Oklahoma and just recently got into hunting the last few years when I moved here.
Dispels the myth that black bears aren’t big enough to be considered a threat to humans. A mama bear doesn’t ask questions it just acts. If it feels threatened it attacks or harvests food for its cubs. Nature is brutal
Nice kill 👍🏻 Also from Oklahoma and used to hunt ona lease out there in eastern Oklahoma Can’t believe ppl say there r no bear here Guys have had their cabins and deer feeders fucked up by the black bear lol I miss that place but u might be hunting it I won’t say any names on here bout were it’s at but it’s an absolute beautiful place but very dangerous, all kinds of snakes plus the bears, cougars, wolves, coyotes, and all kinds of insects and some of the biggest spiders I’ve ever fucking seen. 👍🏻

Congratulations!! Good to see a fellow Native hunt with a traditional bow successfully in this native state.
I know men that have been around a lot longer than you that will never know the sense of accomplishment that you have at this time. Congratulations sir.
This represents the best of archery and hunting… ethical, effort, determination, respect, tradition, conservationist… truly the best!
Fellow Oklahoman here. Great video, professional looking, loved it.
You’re an amazing woodsman and hunter.
God bless!
Man. Awesome story, amazing video, great production and song choices, and most of all so cool you did it as primitive as you could. What a hunt. What a beautiful bear. Kudos to you, my friend.
As a native momma this is so awesome to watch, good job young man!
That is awesome man!!!! Nothing better than that… with a real bow, just the way it’s been done for thousands of years
Hunting in the Wichitas? Awesome. Love those mountains.
No, the wichitas are southwest Oklahoma, no bear population in that mountain range. This is southeast Oklahoma in the kiamichis
Congratulations! That was a well placed shot and at a proper distance for traditional archery.
BRAVO; great job young man..... pat your self on the back for doing it Primitive"
Amazing bear, bud. Congratulations!
Impressive bow and arrow.
Great video! Evey aspect was high quality. Congratulations on a great bow, great bear, and getting it all video to share.

Congratulations!! Fantastic video to share with all of us. Great bow. Great tip. Great shot. Great bear. Great video.
This well spoken young man is better spoken than 95 percent of the college morons we see on YT. We need more young men like this these days.

Unbelievable… what a great adventure… congratulations!
What great footage! Way to go Okie!
Great video. Given the work it took to accomplish & document it, it should have 10x the views.
What’s your filming set up?
Thanks! Most of the camera work is a canon t6i, the high zoom clips of the bear are a Sony camcorder (I really need a more stable tree arm for it as you can tell) and the the shot wasn’t GoPro hero 8. Dji mini 2 drone

@@Arkie_Outdoors good luck! You’ll be hooked if you’re not already
Super cool dude! I watched every minute. Congratulations!!
Epic build and video , congrats buddy
Absolutely awesome!! Congratulations
Why does this only have 2.5k views…..???
Primitive stuff just isn’t popular I guess
Agfc's Black Bear program is one of the world's top predator management and reintegration programs. It is used as a model the world round.
Welcome to 3000 BC. That’s how they did it then. Congratulations.
So, so cool bud!

Amazing man 👍
Thank you !
Great shot! Did you get to full draw? I couldn't hear the clicker. Probably close to impossible being it's so close and at that angle.
Yes, took all I had to get through it lol. the clicker blade is silenced with tape. I feel the click more than I hear it really
So awesome dude
What an awesome hunt! Can I ask where in Oklahoma this is? I'm in south central Oklahoma and just recently got into hunting the last few years when I moved here.
Southeast. Only a few legal counties to hunt them in down there
@@Traditionalbowhunter oh okay! I didn't know if this might be northeast or southeast. Beautiful country over there!
Where do they have that jamboree at

Love that music I'm an okie 2
I’m not. You’re very talented young fella, good job. I muted what you call music.
That’s a HUGE sow, at least around where I hunt
