This video could not be more confused. First, you are talking about "craft" beer, but then put up several brands that are anything but craft. Then you pick some of the worst Canadian beers to showcase. Test 1: Kona Big Wave vs. Labatt 50. First, Labatt is hardly Canadian anymore, being owned by AB InBev, a multinational company based out of Belgium. Labatt is so far from craft beer that it's just laughable. While Kona is owned by Craft Brew Alliance, despite their name, they too do not meet the requirements to be considered craft. That said, Kona is a hell of a lot closer to craft than Labatt, and easily better beer. Test 2: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale vs. St. Amboise Hey Day Hefeweizen. Firstly, you posted the picture for the St. Amboise Pale Ale, but state that it's the Hefeweizen. At least you have chose better breweries to compare, but assuming the text is correct, you chose such different styles (Pale Ale vs. Wheat Beer) that it basically negates the results. It's like asking, "Do you prefer milk or orange juice". When the one girl says "yeasty" it's because Hefeweizen means "yeast wheat" - it is an unfiltered style of beer, and can be quite a polarizing characteristic, and one not present in the Pale Ale. Test 3: Lagunitas IPA vs. Alexander Keith's IPA. Again with the craft (Lagunitas) vs. Global Beverage Giant (Keith's owned by Labatt owned by AB InBev, see Test 1). Also, Keith's is a pathetic example of an IPA - which is basically what the first guy points out right away. (Boiled down) IPAs characteristically are hoppy beers, hops have alpha and beta acids that provide flavour, and alpha acids also provide bitterness, which can be expressed on a scale with an IBU rating (higher is more bitter). While I haven't had Lagunitas, it has an IBU of 46 vs. an IBU of 20 for Keith's (most IPA's I drink are north of 50 IBU), so this would lead me to believe that Lagunitas is also much more flavourful, which is backed up by the second guy who tries Keith's and says, "This literally has no flavour" - a point that I can confirm, having had it several times. Test 4: Stone IPA vs. Parallel 49 Filthy Dirty IPA. EASILY the best comparison here. Both craft, both true IPAs (77 IBU vs. 76 IBU). Yup, that's all I have to say, great comparison, and it was a tie. Test 5: Blue Moon Witbier vs. Unibroue Witbier. Ahh, an appearance by the other 2 multinational beer giants (MillerCoors and Sapporo). That said, I'm not as opposed to these beers, and I quite like Unibroue beers. I give credit for at least comparing the same style beer, as opposed to Test 2. This is probably the second best comparison. Test 6: Bud Lager vs. Molson Lager. Again with 2 of the "big 3" breweries (AB InBev, MolsonCoors). Again, credit for at least comparing similar beers, even if they both are generic and taste like trash. Probably tied for second best comparison. Rant aside, like it was said somewhere in the video - the best tasting beer is the one that tastes best to you, and both countries make some great beers (as do many other countries). I just hate that you went trough the trouble of doing a comparison but your choices were questionable at best. Canada has WAY better beers to offer than half of the ones you chose (as there are much better American beers than chosen too).
I would love to have a beer with you... what are your thoughts on moosehead lager? im just an average canadian beer drinker but i find this beer to taste phenomenal.
like STEAMWHISTLE or SLEEMAN they top beers in Ontario and ive tried a lot of american beers and canada only comes on top because of sleeman and the best beer fight is a tie now because american modified there beers to be like ours if this was the 1970's we would win hands down
That's not a legit comparison. Try testing Canadian beer that people are actually drinking. I'm Canadian and I've only heard of one of those beers. WTF?
Yep. The average Canadian beer would beat out any average american beer by a mile. These craft beers aren't a fair comparison. Who likes watery beer anyway :P
I'm sure real beer drinkers don't even like high branded beers.. Craft beers are usually rated the country's best so yeah..But I notice the bias. They go to the craft brewers directly for America, and get their Canadian beer by some importer? That doesn't seem right.
Mill St. Organic is a great beer. Doesn't matter how many I drink of those I never get even the slightest hangover. Must be the magic of organic ;). Also Steam Whistle is another good one.
Canadian beer > American beer Canadian girls > American girls Canadian sports < American sports Canadian food < American food Canadian music = American Music Canadian Party's > American Partys
Canadian Beer = American Beer Canadian Girls < American Girls Canadian Sports < American Sports Canadian Food < American Food Canadian Music < American Music Canadian Parties < American Parties Pretty much sums it up.
I've never had anything against Canada. The people are super friendly, and the women are amazingly gorgeous. I would also love to try poutine before I die because it sounds like the best food of all time.
I believe you Obama, I know you hate America and everything about America, I knew 8 years ago when I studied your history of hate against America, the evidence is everywhere and videoed.
I'm Canadian and I love beer. I'm a Molson girl, through and through. American beers taste like water or they just don't taste right. Budweiser is too carbonated. We have a blueberry ale where I live and I heard it's phenomenal. Us Canadians do love beer. Blizzard coming? Stock up on a 24 of beer, loaf of bread, and peanut butter. Throw your beer in the snow to keep it chilled and you're good to go.
Molson... Molson... Molson!? U say their beer taste like water but u drink fuckin Molson! U shouldn't be allowed to talk if you have such horrible taste
MrLyndonBJohnson I just turned 19 (legal age here) back in April, and didn't get my ID until July. I didn't get to drink much. Most beers I've tried taste too much like yeast for me to enjoy them. I love Molson, Corona, and I don't mind Coors. Alpine and Miller are too strong. We have a local one, Beach Chair Lager, which was just awful.
MrLyndonBJohnson all i know is Canadian beer is way stronger then American beer....We Canadians could drink American beer all day and still not feel anything...lol.
All of buzzfeed's Canada/US videos have a lot of negativity towards Canada in them. You guys make us out to be insignificant when we're your closest ally and basically the only friend you have left :/ sorry aboot it!
+sarawr30 Everyone I've ever known in the United States loves Canada to some degree. Americans who hate Canada form a very small minority. Also, I thought 45% of the world (polled respondents) said they had a positive view of the United States. Did that number suddenly drop to 0% in 2015? Also, the United States is part of NATO, so every other member of NATO is friendly to the US. That's a lot of people in a lot of countries.
+Jordan Shank the only reason they are frendly is because of your monstruous military budget which is bigger than all the other countries in the world combined
+sarawr30 Try 0:00 to 0:15 did you see the point of the video? How could you say that. He said Canada is awesome, but his Canadian freinds think American beer sucks, and the brewer said not to underestimate American beer too. The whole video is just trying to say American beer can be as good as Canadian beer :/ No hate anywhere, except from you.
+sarawr30 We can't have friends because people like you take the most friendly non hateful statements and think they're being personally attacked. Look at yourself in the mirror before saying how mean americans are.
Lets face it, Canada and America are like those brothers that don't see eye to eye most of the time and may have had a couple fistfights in the past, and also make fun of each other constantly, but if you mess with one.... Buddy, do you wanna be stabbed repeatedly?
Guys all the Americans here. Just stfu and stop saying Canada's shit. We're best friends with you guys and you might not realize it but Canada's here for you guys here to. You guys get attacked we got you same for Americans. Now just stfu and stop fighting. And Canada isn't "shit" just because it's cold doesen't mean it's shit and the only reason it's cold is because we are so far away from the equator. Now I know there is stereotypes but they aren't all true. They say Canadians all like hockey and are all so nice. But in reality not all of us are like that. People say Americans are fat stupid and in educated that's not true. Now if I say America is one thing it's stubborn you guys won't just accept something. Now please stop fighting.
Seriously though, half those aren't even craft beer as stated and the other half are so obscure I've never even heard of them. I'm going to have to do some PR for the many unsung delicious Canadian Craft beer; like my personal favourites from Lake of Bays brewery.
+Beardly Gentlemen If you can get a blanche de Chambly get one. It's definitely the best beer I had. And it is a Canadian Craft beer, go check it out:)
Germany doesn't even have that many (really) good beers. The award should go to a country like Belgium instead... Even Czech republic has better beers than Germany.
Crushing Hammer Dortmunder is awesome, but so is Stella...Dutch beer is great as well and even the French known more for wine, had some delicious brews. It would be hard to choose. Lets just say the EU has the best beers.
Crushing Hammer Defo Belgium. Even imported bottles taste better than most stuff we have. Would love to go there and try a proper brew. I'll just stick with my Leffe and Duvel till then.
America wins on the alcohol prices though, fuckin love it, 18 dollars for a case of beer, in Canada its around 30-40 dollars. Plus you can get a 60 of vodka for 17 dollars, thats just unreal, here in Canada a 60 of vodka would cost you around 60 dollars, which is faaacked!
TheIceman567 Understandable, everyone has their preferences. I prefer American beer just because I can get two cases for the price one, so I'd be gettin drunk either way hahah
Everything in Canada is more expensive than America. We have a price tag sometimes that show the price of it being sold in America and Canada, its always at lease $1 more.
Misty ___ You wouldn't have seen it posted here because his internet went down. I live approximately 5 metres away from him and he came over to tell you this.
OK first off Bud isn't American it is Czech. Second Canadian beer will always be better than anything south of the 49th, and last of all German beer is hands down the best beer in the world.
春日歩 There is a Budweiser brand in Prague, Czech Republic that is older then the American Budweiser. Thus, when in the Czech Republic, you will find the American version under another name, as the Czech brand has the copyright to the name Budweiser.
Matt Lloyd the budweiser they drank in this video was originally brewed in St. Louis. Budweiser Budvar brewery wasn't founded until 19 years after Budweiser (the american lager) was first produced.
I see some people saying that they used many beers from Canada which aren`t very good, which I agree with. But it does make sense for the beers they were comparing them to, since they needed to be similar. This shows that they had to use Canada`s mediocre beers to do a comparison between similar American beers, which basically shows that Canada does have better beer.
I live in Alaska, so I feel like I'm the perfect referee between American and Canada. (We get both up here, and I can say, both are very good. Craft beers are hard to judge, but America wins in the bargain/bulk beer arena. I don't drink Budweiser and Coors etc. all that often, but it's better.)
*Canadians are a lot like Americans with just a few small exceptions.* - They have manners. - They have good education - They have medical - They love all races and all people. - They make stronger Beer and can drink Americans under the table! [Okay I made up the drinking part but the Beer really is stronger.]
I don't know about stronger I mean we have so many different types of beer here like when I went to this beerfest and had a local beer that had 29% abv in it and it was like taking a shot every time I had a sip granted it was gross but strong. I'm sure the only beers you've had from us are the ones equal to Molson and all that stuff is terrible.
Lolololol. I have dual citizenship, live in TO currently and lived in Chicago before that. Both places are fucked. Racism in the US is loud. Racism here in Canada isn't even talked about because all these Canadians like to believe we're fine just because we admitted escaped US slaves. But people of colour are still treated like dirt here, are still getting shot and killed. Let's not pretend Canada is the land of happiness just because we're north of the US.
Lol. Where do you think the beer heritage stems from? All of the major cultural differences between America and Canada stem from their different European origins.
I tried out the American beer and it was not a real beer. It something completely strange but I (as a German) think that it is something to grow up with to actually love it. So I prefer the German/Bavarian beer but I think that Americans love their beer because their taste is different. So don't blame any country for their food or products because they like it and that's everything that matters.
***** *German* - English *Ja* - Yes *Nein* - No *Ich* - I *Du* - You _Singular_ *Er/Sie/Es* - He/She/It *Wir* - We *Ihr* - You _Plural_ *Sie* - They I hope it'll help. :D
Mixing craft beers and mass produced is not a good comparison. Compare the mass produced in the same category - Canadian made Budweiser vs American made Budweiser, Pabst vs Lucky Lager etc. Craft beers beat any of these hands down, whether from Portland or Vancouver or...
actually its a tie, because Budweiser is brewed in canada as well. also why no moosehead, or pilsner, or kokanee, or other iconic Canadian beers, no one likes molson canadian. at least keiths was in there. my favorites are: Ale: Keiths White Lager: Moosehead Stouts & Porters: Sleeman
Because they were using different beers from different brewing companies. Kokanee is Labatt which was already represented, and Pilsner comes in many forms as it is a type of beer, as well as a brand of beer under the Molson company, which was also represented already,
***** the great thing about Alberta, is that all stores are liquor stores, there are no stores that sell only beer. When I lived in Ontario, that was a huge shock, there was two kinds of stores, a beer store, and an lcbo, both province owned, and they close way too early. in Edmonton, we have many stores open till 2am. Ill try that beer sometime, but i'm really picky, so I don't expect to love it. I like a lot of beers, but only love a few.
Senator Armstrong, restoring America to its former glory I never drank czech beer, tbh... But I'm pretty sure,it's not better. Nearly everyone says our beer's the best, so...
Monic D. "German beer is overrated and over hyped" that's the reason everyone says it's better - they never tried Czech beer. you should really try Czech beer
megadriver6 Don't get me wrong, nothing is more refreshing than a good ol'e Weissbrau, but I can't fucking stand Pilsner, which puts me off most southern German or Czech beers... :'(
megadriver6 Don't get me wrong, nothing is more refreshing than a good ol'e Weissbrau, but I can't fucking stand Pilsner, which puts me off most southern German or Czech beers... :'(
Im from Austria and the one time I went on a holiday to America I tasted your beer, no offense, I wished I brought some from home, cause frankly it does indeed taste like water... Again, no offense meant, just saying that your beer sucks, European bear rocks :P
***** I live in Austria, near the border between Austria and Germany and I usually buy my beer in Germany. Admittedly, German off-the-shelf beer is better than Austrian!
If you had anything from the Budweiser, Miller, or Coors company than you can hardly call that American beer. I won't even mention the college beers like Natural Ice and light, because those are basically someone drank some alcohol and pissed into a can.
As an avid beer drinker and Canadian Citizen, most of the beers you picked were beers none of us drink. Should have had a real Canadian select the beers on the show
I think Canadians believe america have less quality of beer because of the fact it has a lower percentage of alcohol - supposedly. Dunno if it's true or not, I'm not American *shrugs* but Canadians here that and automatically jump to conclusions.
Yeah but American companies like making its mark in our native land XD Hence McDonald's, Walmart, Target, etc. XD Though we have different root beers too - think they'd be from America as well - dunno really.
I think they both make good stuff and bad stuff... Just depends on the company and the brewers in the end. I think European beer beats us both though XD
Joshua Armour I've had Swiss chocolate and Danish chocolate - my stepdad said Germans have good chocolate -he's german so he may be biased- and Belgian I think is also known for its chocolate like Switzerland is - but I've never had British chocolate. They don't seem like a chocolate country XD
Joshua Armour Canada wins (hands down) in the chocolate category. The level of smooth creamy texture of their lighter brown chocolate can be quite addictive.
What, they took Alexander Keith's IPA as an actual contestant for the IPA category??? WHAT? REALLY?! Every Canadian know its just a plain (but good) blonde beer! They really COULD and SHOULD took something else! Glad that La Blanche de Chambly won it's fight tho! Go Québec go! :P (Don't hate me for, I have the right to be proud!)
+Jean-Nic BRT To fair they didn't really choose any good American beers either. No Pride & Joy or Gumball Head. No Fat Tire. Hell I would have accepted Leinenkugel or even Goose Island.
Not speaking to micro brews, but Canadians typically think our beer is better in Canada than in the States. What I mean is that a Labatt's Blue will taste better in Canada, I may be mistaken but big box Canadian brews imported to the States usually have a slightly less alcohol content, different flavor. I would also like the point out the most major Canadian breweries are now American owned, like Molson, Labatt etc even though the companies still brew the majority in Canada, I think the only major Canadian owned and operated big box left is Moosehead. Every country around the world has a unique taste, and flavor complex. I appreciate every time I get to try a new beer from another region of the planet.
Exactly, this video missed the point. When you compare the exact same beer bought either in the US or in Canada, the Canadian one tastes stronger. On my last trip south of the border I picked up some Coors and some Rolling Rock, both of which tasted like they had been diluted 50% compared to the same beer bought in Canada.
TheBrantfordian Sorry I gotta call bullshit friend, how in the whirlyfrick could that be when they are BOTH brewed bottled/canned the USA and exported to Canada?
1ManNamedDan It's not American beers that are different, it's the Canadian brews. Like a Labatt's Blue for the Canadian market is a little more potent than the Blue that is Exported to America. PBR here in Canada is the same as in the States. Personally to me a beer can be from anywhere, as long as it is cold and I will enjoy it.
C Genious Oh ok my bad dude, yeah there is or was some funky laws a while back not sure if they still stand but most domestic pilsners *Bud, Coors, PBR etc) had to have a ABV no higher than 3.5 but later on micro brews came out with pale ales porters browns and Hefewizens at about 5.0 - 6.5 on average . Hey btw maybe you know because this messed me up when I saw it; just how in the funk is St Amboise both a Hefewizen AND a Pale Ale?? - they are two totally different types of beer aye?
1ManNamedDan I believe St. Ambrose only brews stout and ale. I know they have many different beers, but I have only had their oak aged pale. I have never heard of a wheat beer being mixed with a hop based brew.
Maybe my gf and I can't tell what's good but we have had only bad experience with sleeman. They are too skunky and watery. I do love steamworks though. And if you can get your hands on it, try dageraad. Such an amazing Belgian style Canadian craft beer.
Honestly european beers are way better. For example Budweiser is too waterly, it's like having water with beer flavouring same with bud. German and UK beers are hands down the best.
XxBLAZERHUNTER If you don't care about what he is saying, which is just widening the spectrum of the subject at hand. Then why are you watching this video?
The fact that you used Budweiser in your example shows how little you know about American beer. I'm sure the worst beer European countries have to offer is just as bad as bud which is our worst beer, and our best beers are just as good if not better than anything Europe has to offer. At the end of the day beer is beer and there's good beer everywhere
Natalia C It is up to the person to judge me not by my chosen username, but instead by my thought with which I comment. Was what I wrote just thrown aside by you because you was to ignorant to hear what I have to say?
Raghu Soman Have you and TheSolidJake went to USA and Canada to try the beers, and compared them? I think not. But if you did, i would like to see the beers you compared. Also, i don't even drink beer i am just tired of people saying biased things.
MineralMining I have tried North American beers a couple of times before. We get Budweiser and other North American beers here in Asia. I found them to be way too lighter than European Beers. PS: You should drink beer. Then you'll know that we aren't biased. :)
MineralMining "I don't even drink beer", that is what you just said. So REALLY, you can't add much to this discussion. North American and Canadian beers are widely available in the UK, where I live, and just don't match up to European beer. Belgian, German and Czech beer is particularly good. So we really aren't being biased. Plus, I agree with Dinesh Naraindra, drink beer!
MineralMining If you don't drink... why even say anything? it's so fucking annoying when Americans claim their best at everything but when people else were do it all of sudden they're bias and wrong.
patar446 I'm british = european. That is why I'm stating that *both* american *and* canadian beer is shit..... Why would I say that were I an american?
I think people need to understand that Americans are overly prideful because we generally feel bashed by others on the internet. It would be the same result if someone says something bad about your country, most would get a bit defensive. Every country has flaws. Also, please, unless you've come to America and hated it don't talk about how you hate the US and Americans....but if you have then go right ahead.
we laugh at you, because you are so thin skinned about it. there is nothing more hilarious than deflating someone's intergalactic hubris. first there's a PFFFFFFFT, then a supposed big player comes crashing down. thats funny that said, I have no problems admitting when you DON'T screw up. topic in this video is beer, so we'll go with that. these days you have a nice craft-culture. your beers are quite a bit different than the same old same old pints of bland boatsex. you're learning. thats not bad.
That's not even competition. But they're only talking about the northern North American countries, not Europeans, where obviously Germany and the UK are greater competition by far.
The funny part is that Americans are more stressed about not picking theirs, just as it's the only thing that matters. "It doesn't matter that it tasted like shit, it's 'Murican!!" I'm not from neither of those, I'm European and I drink vodka.
So an American who went to school in Canada put a bunch of Beers Canadians think are garbage against American Craft beers and had Americans taste then and America won only by 1? lol Maybe next time you would put up Beers Canadians actually like.. Even in the Map you showed a bunch of Canadian craft Brewers but then didnt use a single one? Where was Steamwhistle or Creemore? Weak Buzz Feed. Weak.
It really just depends on the brand. Can't believe there was no Yuengling in this. Both countries have good beer, and both have crap. The best beer I tasted was Weyerbacher beers which is American, but many of the good American breweries have German roots. I also love European imports but way too expensive to get familiar with. Chimay is a damn good beer and Shock Top is the best $5.50 pitcher you can get at Applebees. I could literally cherry pick a beer list to make either country win.
Lmfao. Canadians are so non hospitable, and are quick to judge almost anything American having never tried it. That's why on this vid: Most Americans: I'm not sure, I haven't tried it. OR I THINK America will take it home. All of the Canadians: Canadian's better.
Okay first of all, Budweiser is manufactured in Canada as well. Second of all, Molson Canadian is terrible and should never be represented as Canadian beer...
Comparing "50" to anything is a mistake. It hasn't changed taste since the 50's and the only place you're likely to find "cinquante" is in a Quebec fighting bar. Where it belongs. American IPA's are, as they say in the U.S.A., are a "whole 'nother thing." It's about who can out hop the next guy. Sierra Nevada is terrific stuff and an exception to the rule. Labatt, Molson and Budweiser should be in their own Frat-house Kegger category. No one with any taste has drunk Molson or Labatt in Canada in twenty or thirty years. About the same time we started to get micro-brewed options.
Was the Canadian beer purchased in Canada? That would affect the outcome. The Canadian beer available in the US is mediocre at best. In my significant experience drinking beer in both countries, there is no contest when comparing mass produced beers of each country. Canada wins hands down. When it comes to craft beers it is a much more complicated contest, and I don't dare declare a obvious winner. All I can say is that it is waste of time comparing beers from each country unless they were purchased in their respective countries. Don't waste your money on Canadian beer bought in the US. Buy it in Canada.
aliichi imported does not mean "purchased". that is my point. anyone can buy imported canadian beer in the us. but to experience the real thing, you have to buy it in canada. the canadian beer available in the us is not the same as what is available in canada. the taste test was in california, and the beer was supplied by an importer of beers. it is very different from what the canadians are drinking in canada. the only canadian beer worth drinking MUST be purchased in canada. the "imported" canadian beer that is available in the us is not worth the bother. thought i was clear the first time. like i said, when it comes to mass produced beer, the canadians win hands down. no friggen contest. but when it comes to craft beers, it comes down to each individual beer. plenty of great beers from both countries. unless you have ever had a canadian beer that you bought and drank in canada, you do not know what you are talking about it. go up there and have a molson export, a brador and a labatt 50, and then make your decision.
And different people like different beers, and craft beers are an acquired and educated taste. So people who like Budweizzzer will never like craft beers.
I like how the Canadian girls just wanted to pick the Canadian beer every time, they didn't care about anything else it seemed. Like even if they enjoyed the American beer better they would get upset because it wasn't Canadian. Similar to girls who have I phones because they are I phones but could care less about how much they pay and what they get for their money. That is all I could think about during this video ahaha
They are all making "Belgian Style" beers because in Belgium since centuries the brewers had freedom to experiment with tastes and ingredients. There is no constriction like the German Reinheitsgebot. That's why we have so many different styles of beer : Trappist, Lambic, Gueze, Witbier, Kriek, Golden Ales, Fruit Beer, etc... All these styles are inspiring the craft brewers all over the world ( except Germany ). IMHO Belgium is the world leader in brewery.
as a CANADIAN who has drank MANY different craft, mainstream, and upper mainstream beers from many countries i will rate what i like best: Polish: zywiec German: Spatten Dutch: Grolsh - My GO TO beer for the price French: Kronenbourg Blanc - best belgian white imo Canadian: Anything Beaus, Sidelaunch and so many others to list English: any ale really irish: any stout really, but authentic guinness is the best American: Pumpking ill stop here. if i try to think this comment would take ages, so ill just post this. beers from every country are good really, but personally i wholeheartedly believe that canadian craft is some of the best in the world - this is coming from someone who has tried maybe 200 different beers
If you like bittery bitter bitterness, I'm with you. But if you like things that actually taste like something crafty, try belgian beers. Especially the Barbaar or the Gulden Draak, to only name two of the best ones. Also try the britton ones, which are the only good french beers.
I didn't even know Brits drank beer, let alone made it. I thought they always had tea, and nothing but tea. Green tea, black tea, loose tea & herbal teas.
German and Belgium breweries excel at the older styles, frankly they do them way better then anyone else. However the newer styles they tend to not do so well. German's aren't big into change or trying new things. Styles like IPA's which are very huge in the states Germans do poorly, where as America and breweries like Russian River and Pliny the Elder is said to be one of the finest examples of an IPA around. California revolutionized IPA's and Craft beer. Though it all comes down to taste, some still prefer a Bud.
I worked in a liquor store in Alberta at the biggest liquor store in my city, where we had one of the largest selections of alcohol in the province. We had people from all over the country telling us they could only find certain brands at our store. And the top beer we sold was Budweiser, Canadian, Kokanee, Corona, Keystone Light, and then a bunch of random cheap brands. For actual Canadian beers that aren't huge brands it was a toss up between Rickards, Big Rock, Lucky (more 'cause it's cheap), Brewhouse, Sleeman Honey Brown, Brewster's, Okanagan Spring, Muskoka Brewery, and Phillips. I don't think I ever once sold a Kona and barely anyone bought the St. Ambroise and if they did it was the Apricot Wheat Ale. Personally I favoured Innis & Gunn or Rhineland Bad Hare - which we also sold a lot of but neither are Canadian, as was the Rogue or many others we sold frequently. Beer is just a personal taste no matter where it's from.
Am I the only one that feels like buzz feed is always bias against Canada? Like throughout their videos (including this once) and the channels they're always saying harsh thing about Canada :/ And almost everyone that works for buzz feed is American so...
Also buzzfeed did this thing where they had people react to the shooting in Ottawa and apparently my friend watched it and he said that there was this one guy who sad some really rude stuff about it and Canada, bro wtf. I never got to watch it cause they deleted it.
Lmao this guy was tryna create some sort of hype battle between American and Canadian beer and the first brew master was just like "yeah man... whatever beer you like... just drink that"😂😂😂
+valinor Ryan Gosling is the only Canadian that Buzzfeed knows. They use him as "the Canadian" in most of their vids referencing Canada. Meanwhile, most Canadians have no idea that Ryan Gosling is Canadian. Like, idk, just pick Drake.
its like they picked the absolute worst from both countries. Every contest was between dog piss and cat piss. Also, most of those people openly admitted they dont drink or dont even like beer, so why is their opinion relevant?
Rofler42 Yea obviously you guys are the greatest in everything even the way your people sit on toilets it deserves a medal like OMG you are the best in the world and nobody can touch you because your like God and stuff and like uhm you guys are so cool like OMG your the best your the winner yeah you guys are such winners all you do is win because your so superior I wish we were like you guys because your so cool and stuff like omg
Exactly, and German beer advertises too so, are you really better or just do what everybody else does and advertise? Btw as I type this a Guinness Blonde commercial is on....advertising
HarryWessex Hmmmmm, no for some people it is like trying to drink a loaf of bread. To be fair I don't drink beer that much, usually makes me sick, but I know others who have made the same comparison.
Katrina Schultz Comparing guinness to a loaf of bread is a terrible comparion. Guinness is actually a really low calorie/carb beer compared to many, MANY of it's beer counterparts. It's about 125 calories and 10 carbs per pint.
Watch the documentary: "Beer Wars". It's on Netflix. If you care about American beer, THEN WATCH THAT FRIGGIN DOCUMENTARY! That movie will prove for a fact why most (not all) beers in the USA suck compared to not only just Canadian beer, but all other beer in the world. Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors have monopolized the beer industry all over the US. According to the documentary it's getting better, but it's still not there yet! Since Annheuser-Busch and MillerCoors are so rich and have the monopoly, they can control the beer industry! When you walk into a super market and visit the beer section, AB and MC control over 90% of the shelves space. They FORCE the super markets to display their beers everywhere in plain sight, and all the micro-brewers and smaller beer companies (Who do make AWESOME beer) can't afford to compete and the super-markets will refuse to place their beer in better sight and usually tuck their beer cans and bottles in a hidden corner. And here's where things get really bad. Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors purposely don't produce different tasting beers. Their beers are all identical. They are purposely water down and barely have any difference with one another because it's cheaper that way! You could drink a beer with the Miller sticker on it and another beer with the Coors sticker on it, and it's the same thing. If you think that old Simpsons episode where Homer visits the Duff Brewery where 1 tube is pouring the same liquid into seperate Duff, Duff Lite and Duff Dry canisters, then guess what? That's no joke. The writers who wrote that "joke" are actually making fun of AB and MC because that's pretty much what they're doing with their beers! If you Americans don't want the rest of the world to continue making fun of your piss poor beer, then boycott Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors! That's who we're talking about when we say: "American beer sucks". We're not talking about your micro-brewers and smaller beer companies, because they're the only ones across the entire US that are trying to make good tasting beer for Americans to enjoy, but large corporations are doing everything they can to make them invisible to the majority of beer drinkers. Go watch Beer Wars if you don't believe me. You will never look at your Budweiser or Coors the same way ever again.
+Mark Oh yes I don't think I was sober the whole time I was in the Czech republic. Beer at breakfast beer at lunch beer at supper some more beer just because. Good times.
To be honest, you took the worst beers from Canada. And still, there's nothing better than drinking fresh beer. There's a neat spot in Montreal where the best crafted beer is served in Canada.
I'd like to thank America for all the Budweiser's you have supplied at the Rogers Centre the past two years while the Jays laid out pretty much all your AL teams. 👍
Canada has WAY better beers to offer than half of the ones you chose (as there are much better American beers than chosen too).
interesting.
I would love to have a beer with you... what are your thoughts on moosehead lager? im just an average canadian beer drinker but i find this beer to taste phenomenal.
+Clayton Hattlmann also pretty sure a ton of Labatts is made in the US - at least around the western new york part pretty sure it is
right on,ii hope everyone reads your comments and learns something about Beer and the industry
TLDR whats the best xanadian beers?
ugh you took 3 of canada's worst beers...
+broo gul truuuuue
Hate that they did
RPTRG2 Is that supposed to offend anyone? LOL
I'm partial to IPAs: Boneshaker, Hoptical Illusion and Hop Bot are my three favorites
+broo gul That's buzz feed for you
You didn't get the good canadian beers!
I agree
Right?
They even had Steamworks in the last shot! I mean c'mon!
Totally! and it wasn't a fair fight! you can't pair a Kona vs Labatt or Lagunitas vs Keiths. That's like putting your A-team vs our D-league.
like STEAMWHISTLE or SLEEMAN they top beers in Ontario and ive tried a lot of american beers and canada only comes on top because of sleeman and the best beer fight is a tie now because american modified there beers to be like ours if this was the 1970's we would win hands down
Its simple, if you want to get drunk by drinking water, go American Beer, if you want to get drunk drinking beer, go Canadian.
HAHAHAHA! Yeah! Why spend money on water with a beer label when you could get free water from your house!
+HoboTango Don't be ignorant, there's more to American beer, than just Bud Light. :P
+HoboTango Says the person who has clearly never had an American craft beer
FloydYoder Your absolutly right. But there is also some humor in my comment. as obviously, there is good beer wherever man goes.
+HoboTango true so fricken true
That's not a legit comparison. Try testing Canadian beer that people are actually drinking. I'm Canadian and I've only heard of one of those beers. WTF?
Yep. The average Canadian beer would beat out any average american beer by a mile. These craft beers aren't a fair comparison. Who likes watery beer anyway :P
Ya, but this is what Buzzfeed does with all VS. videos, they never bring the right things to the table..... No matter from where or what.
RPT, you mad tho?
I'm sure real beer drinkers don't even like high branded beers.. Craft beers are usually rated the country's best so yeah..But I notice the bias. They go to the craft brewers directly for America, and get their Canadian beer by some importer? That doesn't seem right.
I've never heard of these American beers either. What's your point?
Cheeter your using the worst beers of Canada! Wowowowowowowowoowwowowwowooww
+Keegan Clearly you are delusional.
+TY_WIFI GAMING ya like he said worst beers of canada.
+TY_WIFI GAMING Molson is a terrible beer.
+Meg_Plays_MC as an avid beer fan.. what do you recommend?
Mill St. Organic is a great beer. Doesn't matter how many I drink of those I never get even the slightest hangover. Must be the magic of organic ;). Also Steam Whistle is another good one.
Canadian beer > American beer
Canadian girls > American girls
Canadian sports < American sports
Canadian food < American food
Canadian music = American Music
Canadian Party's > American Partys
Idk about sports, basketball is from Canada and I think that's a huge point in its favor...
***** canada has one team
I'm just saying basketball was invented there. No denying Americans dominate the sport.
Canadian Beer = American Beer
Canadian Girls < American Girls
Canadian Sports < American Sports
Canadian Food < American Food
Canadian Music < American Music
Canadian Parties < American Parties
Pretty much sums it up.
holysnackpack lol america is so fuqed up compared to Canada :3
They used the ones that no one actually likes
Catie Dauphinee literally
I've never had anything against Canada. The people are super friendly, and the women are amazingly gorgeous. I would also love to try poutine before I die because it sounds like the best food of all time.
Poutine is amazing.
***** i love poutine with bacon bits its soo good.
You have not lived you have to get poutine from a chip truck or from canadian tire.
Chad Small Poutine is love. Poutine is life.
I have develop a craving for this cheesy meal
I'm not American or Canadian but i was hoping for Canada to win
they took only the bad canadian beer
Lol, me too.
thanks mr president
yes
Molsen is Canada's Budweiser. So they are what u drink when u are short on change.
MrLyndonBJohnson
all i know is Canadian beer is way stronger then American beer....We Canadians could drink American beer all day and still not feel anything...lol.
really... %11 wow that's lots...lol...everybody knows our beer is and will be always be stronger.
+tristan huot Nope, has everything to do with trade.
Look at yourself in the mirror before saying how mean americans are.
i recognized only one of the Canadian beers you showed
DVDROCK006 and im canadian
I know right!
+DVDROCK006 I'd like to see them test people with good canadian beers like steamwhistle, or moosehead
+DVDROCK006 Exactly. Not exactly the cream of the crop to go head to head in a contest with.
I dont know where youre from, but i'm from montreal and i knew almost all of them !(:
Lets face it, Canada and America are like those brothers that don't see eye to eye most of the time and may have had a couple fistfights in the past, and also make fun of each other constantly, but if you mess with one....
Buddy, do you wanna be stabbed repeatedly?
And Molson sucks, I don't accept its representation of my country :P
If memory serves molson was used in the video and nobody liked it.
Michael Harder yeah molson lost 6-2 lol
MrCakey - Daily videos!
I haven't seen any dissing or anything here....
I think I'm allergic to beer because after like 12 or 13 of them I get really sick..
Lol
No, that is the side effect of having a great night... but probably a bad morning.
You might just not handle alcohol well, if you were allergic I doubt it would be at 12 or 13 that you get sick, probably more like 1-3...
Do you feel sick after drinking just 1? Maybe 12 or 13 is way to much.
Its incredible how many people didn't get the joke.
Next time, maybe try asking an actual Canadian about what we choose to drink.
Aboot*
+Beardly Gentlemen eh*
Sorry*
Seriously though, half those aren't even craft beer as stated and the other half are so obscure I've never even heard of them. I'm going to have to do some PR for the many unsung delicious Canadian Craft beer; like my personal favourites from Lake of Bays brewery.
+Beardly Gentlemen If you can get a blanche de Chambly get one. It's definitely the best beer I had. And it is a Canadian Craft beer, go check it out:)
Who has the better beer USA or Canada? Answer Germany. And I am very Canadian.
It's always Germany
Germany doesn't even have that many (really) good beers. The award should go to a country like Belgium instead... Even Czech republic has better beers than Germany.
Crushing Hammer Dortmunder is awesome, but so is Stella...Dutch beer is great as well and even the French known more for wine, had some delicious brews. It would be hard to choose.
Lets just say the EU has the best beers.
Crushing Hammer Defo Belgium. Even imported bottles taste better than most stuff we have. Would love to go there and try a proper brew. I'll just stick with my Leffe and Duvel till then.
Laurence Whiting You just mentioned the two Belgian beers that I buy, and enjoy the most, Leffe & Duvel. Both are plain awesome ales. Cheers!
Well true but you get what you pay for Canada makes the better beer hands down. I'm from Buffalo, Ny and was luck to have my Molson.
TheIceman567 Understandable, everyone has their preferences. I prefer American beer just because I can get two cases for the price one, so I'd be gettin drunk either way hahah
TheIceman567 Hahahahha oh yeah, a few shotguns with Molson Canadian and I'm ready to go!!
Brady Harper Diddo! :D
Everything in Canada is more expensive than America. We have a price tag sometimes that show the price of it being sold in America and Canada, its always at lease $1 more.
I don't like beer, but even I know that nearly all those Canadian beers were the cheap shit.
How do you know? Have you tried it? No.
Soulsice | Gaming do you know if she has tried it or not? No
Misty ___ Do you know if he knew if she has tried it or not? -No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.- No.
+Joseph Nguyen I would have seen it posted here and he would have KNOWN and not posted that comment
Your argument is invalid.
Misty ___ You wouldn't have seen it posted here because his internet went down. I live approximately 5 metres away from him and he came over to tell you this.
so you bought Canadian beer from a American that makes sense
iRave Streams lmao. Also I almost liked this but didn’t want to change the 69 likes
@Soft Poor Corn u missed the joke. Because he’s American the beer is going to b crap no matter where it’s from. A joke.
OK first off Bud isn't American it is Czech. Second Canadian beer will always be better than anything south of the 49th, and last of all German beer is hands down the best beer in the world.
Budweiser was originally brewed in St. Louis.
german beer is gross
春日歩 There is a Budweiser brand in Prague, Czech Republic that is older then the American Budweiser. Thus, when in the Czech Republic, you will find the American version under another name, as the Czech brand has the copyright to the name Budweiser.
Matt Lloyd the budweiser they drank in this video was originally brewed in St. Louis.
Budweiser Budvar brewery wasn't founded until 19 years after Budweiser (the american lager) was first produced.
春日歩 sure german beer is gross if you are used to drink yellow water. It's very easy if you don't like german beer, you don't like beer.
SongJiangShiJin I'm used to american craft beers, german beer is flavorless in comparison.
Where the Moosehead at?
I see some people saying that they used many beers from Canada which aren`t very good, which I agree with. But it does make sense for the beers they were comparing them to, since they needed to be similar. This shows that they had to use Canada`s mediocre beers to do a comparison between similar American beers, which basically shows that Canada does have better beer.
Canadian beer will always taste good because IT'S CANADA.
no bro😁😁😁
I live in Alaska, so I feel like I'm the perfect referee between American and Canada.
(We get both up here, and I can say, both are very good. Craft beers are hard to judge, but America wins in the bargain/bulk beer arena. I don't drink Budweiser and Coors etc. all that often, but it's better.)
goodbye horse's Canada > USA, bro Canada is just amazing bro
Erica whats canada?
*Canadians are a lot like Americans with just a few small exceptions.*
- They have manners.
- They have good education
- They have medical
- They love all races and all people.
- They make stronger Beer and can drink Americans under the table!
[Okay I made up the drinking part but the Beer really is stronger.]
Stereotypes are fun.
More than what? Everything I drink personally is over 8% and its from america you cant compare your good beers to our shitty Budweisers.
Also, there are plenty of uneducated, ignorant, and mean lightweights up here.
Why are some people trying to make this about Europe? America and Canada. That's it.
*facepalm*
Lol. Where do you think the beer heritage stems from? All of the major cultural differences between America and Canada stem from their different European origins.
toolworks
Who cares.
navra You can borrow my question mark if you like. Here => " ? "
I tried out the American beer and it was not a real beer. It something completely strange but I (as a German) think that it is something to grow up with to actually love it. So I prefer the German/Bavarian beer but I think that Americans love their beer because their taste is different. So don't blame any country for their food or products because they like it and that's everything that matters.
i feel like germany is the superior contry to all beers
A smart guy in a million, thanks (German bear is better and I'm american, Canadian beer is almost the same)
Alyssa Stevens dude, you ever heard of chezh beer?kozel,staropramen....
German beer is the absolute best beer!
*****
*German* - English
*Ja* - Yes
*Nein* - No
*Ich* - I
*Du* - You _Singular_
*Er/Sie/Es* - He/She/It
*Wir* - We
*Ihr* - You _Plural_
*Sie* - They
I hope it'll help. :D
I'm Canadian and I never heard of these beers...man!
Maybe you should go out more. I know its cold outside but if you re Canadian, you deal with it.
Comparing different types of tap water I see.
He's probably Irish.
Or German. Germany are the Kings of Beer.
RandomnessExploderize
belgium, germany sucks too..
ForeverAlicia Pilsator and Sternburg best beers
spanish beer is awesome too
Mixing craft beers and mass produced is not a good comparison. Compare the mass produced in the same category - Canadian made Budweiser vs American made Budweiser, Pabst vs Lucky Lager etc.
Craft beers beat any of these hands down, whether from Portland or Vancouver or...
Toronto and Brooklyn have some pretty awesome craft beers too, don't discount the east coast! =] I'll pick a craft beer any day.
Jessica Lyon I'll drink to that :)
spacecowboy2010 Let's all drink to that! A round of McAuslan's St-Ambroise on me!
They were all equally paired. The mass with mass and craft w/ craft.
Wonder who makes the most craft beer though...
actually its a tie, because Budweiser is brewed in canada as well.
also why no moosehead, or pilsner, or kokanee, or other iconic Canadian beers, no one likes molson canadian.
at least keiths was in there.
my favorites are:
Ale: Keiths White
Lager: Moosehead
Stouts & Porters: Sleeman
K
***** Yeah! These are really good beer! :))
Because they were using different beers from different brewing companies. Kokanee is Labatt which was already represented, and Pilsner comes in many forms as it is a type of beer, as well as a brand of beer under the Molson company, which was also represented already,
I'm not much of a beer drinker but I love kokanee over molson. Should have had Kokanee up in that taste test :P
As a german that lives in Canada this is really funny :D
Okay guys, let's be honest: Germany has the best beer. Deal with it! ;)
Yes indeed
No, the Czechs have the best beer. They invented the pilsner after all. German beer is overrated and over hyped, just like their cars really.
Senator Armstrong, restoring America to its former glory I never drank czech beer, tbh... But I'm pretty sure,it's not better. Nearly everyone says our beer's the best, so...
Monic D. "German beer is overrated and over hyped" that's the reason everyone says it's better - they never tried Czech beer. you should really try Czech beer
noobmandrink Okay, I'll try it as soon as I can, and you than, which one was better. But I warn you, I'm German, so I'm kinda prejudiced ;)
Neither!
German beer is superior!
Czechish beer comes a very close second.
megadriver6 Thanks. Im glad that you like our beer :) :D (Im Czech) :D
megadriver6 It's actually the other way around. (I base this judgement on me being german and growing up with german beer ;) )
megadriver6 Don't get me wrong, nothing is more refreshing than a good ol'e Weissbrau, but I can't fucking stand Pilsner, which puts me off most southern German or Czech beers... :'(
megadriver6 Don't get me wrong, nothing is more refreshing than a good ol'e Weissbrau, but I can't fucking stand Pilsner, which puts me off most southern German or Czech beers... :'(
megadriver6 German beer is by far number 1 for me, Belgium, UK, and Sweden follow behind.
Im from Austria and the one time I went on a holiday to America I tasted your beer, no offense, I wished I brought some from home, cause frankly it does indeed taste like water... Again, no offense meant, just saying that your beer sucks, European bear rocks :P
I dare you to compare german and american beers ;)
That would be like comparing Einstein to I don't know... A first grader?
true
Yeah but American companies like making its mark in our native land XD
Hence McDonald's, Walmart, Target, etc. XD
Though we have different root beers too - think they'd be from America as well - dunno really.
I think they both make good stuff and bad stuff... Just depends on the company and the brewers in the end.
I think European beer beats us both though XD
Joshua Armour XD well in the area of vodka definitely XD
Joshua Armour I've had Swiss chocolate and Danish chocolate - my stepdad said Germans have good chocolate -he's german so he may be biased- and Belgian I think is also known for its chocolate like Switzerland is - but I've never had British chocolate. They don't seem like a chocolate country XD
Joshua Armour Canada wins (hands down) in the chocolate category. The level of smooth creamy texture of their lighter brown chocolate can be quite addictive.
Lmao he's right!!! Other countries talk the most shit about America, and we're just over here like 😐 not giving a shit. 😂😂😂
America both continents or us america?
If americans don't care what we say, why even respond?
You give a lot of shit. Cause you eat too much. Fat american!
WHAT? Americans are so ignorant self centered, they choose to ignore anything from what another country says.
TrollaBearCentral
Yes, because they're talking shit about us. Better to ignore the haters than to care.
Mark F. Their tests are so biased....
That's because Blue Moon is super bland
Lol. Love that end message. America and Canada coming together and getting drunk. X-D
I'm actually insulted that Kanye West is used to symbolize America 😂😂😂
kaitlin_08 he's a gay fish
Cristian Martinez AHAHA, THAT JOKE ISN'T TIRED, OR OVERUSED AT ALL.
t makes sense cuz both are arrogants. :)
***** "Why cause he's black?" You're an idiot for assuming that is what she meant.
But Kanye West is a God
the best beers come from Europe anyway
You guys should've had Sleemans, especially the Honey Brown
+Aaron Blom Now this guy gets it!!!
+Aaron Blom Never heard of Honey Brown, but I have had their Silver Creek Lager, which is pretty good. But Old Milwaukee still rules!
YESSSSSS
+Aaron Blom my favourite beer!! and everytime I bring it to someone they say it one the best they ever had!!
No one cares
XxBLAZERHUNTER
If you don't care about what he is saying, which is just widening the spectrum of the subject at hand.
Niggas Be Trippin With THAT username, how do you expect people to take you seriously?
Natalia C
It is up to the person to judge me not by my chosen username, but instead by my thought with which I comment. Was what I wrote just thrown aside by you because you was to ignorant to hear what I have to say?
European beer. European beer is better.
Raghu Soman Hoegaarden is quite famous here in Malaysia. Europeans make the best beer indeed.
America might have better beer... But us Canadians have bigger McDonald cup sizes...
McDonalds was made in America..
***** Shumyla Mirza Watch the video they did about mcdonalds sizes...
No one need that much sugar
Shumyla Mirza *facepalm*
And you guys will be the one's with diabetes...
Really you pick Budweiser for your lager? For shame. At least go with Sam Adams.
This is like saying Ebola or Bubonic Plague.... which is better?
You're so insane why don't you stop injecting marijuana's so you can learn proper grammar and pick up a book for wonce.
***** omg you wot m8?
That's hilarious, coming from an American
patar446 I'm british = european. That is why I'm stating that *both* american *and* canadian beer is shit.....
Why would I say that were I an american?
060steve I'm stating I'M American, and your joke is funny because our beer is shit.
Yep :3
Well said.
And some of us hate it too but we're stuck here.
we laugh at you, because you are so thin skinned about it. there is nothing more hilarious than deflating someone's intergalactic hubris. first there's a PFFFFFFFT, then a supposed big player comes crashing down. thats funny
that said, I have no problems admitting when you DON'T screw up. topic in this video is beer, so we'll go with that. these days you have a nice craft-culture. your beers are quite a bit different than the same old same old pints of bland boatsex.
you're learning. thats not bad.
All in all German beer is the best
True true from what i hear from
That's not even competition. But they're only talking about the northern North American countries, not Europeans, where obviously Germany and the UK are greater competition by far.
What about Czech beers?
WRONG! Belgium!
Austria has great beer to, like trumer Pils
gets popcorn and heads to the comment section.........
You put a pale against a hef and an ipa against a pale? Completely different styles.
seriously you pick the worst canadian beer :/
The funny part is that Americans are more stressed about not picking theirs, just as it's the only thing that matters. "It doesn't matter that it tasted like shit, it's 'Murican!!"
I'm not from neither of those, I'm European and I drink vodka.
Good for you
The two Canadian women in this video were disappointed every time they picked the American beer.
This was just a patriotic video, they got ok american beer, and awful Canadian to make it look good
So an American who went to school in Canada put a bunch of Beers Canadians think are garbage against American Craft beers and had Americans taste then and America won only by 1? lol Maybe next time you would put up Beers Canadians actually like..
Uuhhgg if everyone would get off the shock top train. Just another Labatt product
Carma Lita For the $5.50 price of pitcher, it is that, coors light, or Miller lite.
PessOmist that's a damn good price. I enjoy some good ol pbr myself
Dan Thompson I prefer PBR over any popular brand Lite.
PessOmist yeah it's hell a good. And cheap
Lmfao. Canadians are so non hospitable, and are quick to judge almost anything American having never tried it. That's why on this vid:
Most Americans: I'm not sure, I haven't tried it. OR I THINK America will take it home.
All of the Canadians: Canadian's better.
We think our(Canadian) beer is better, BECAUSE IT IS
Oh American, now look who is judging, hmmm?
Me nu spek enlish ples sey ti igain
Brandon Friesen Keep telling yourself that lad
Chester S. Duncan I'm not the only one. Any smart person who watches buzzfeed KNOWS that they are biased towards LGBT's, and the US.
Okay first of all, Budweiser is manufactured in Canada as well. Second of all, Molson Canadian is terrible and should never be represented as Canadian beer...
Molson is terrible and should be illegal for it to represent Canada.
Snow Ice I like Molson Canadian
probably the only buzzfeed video that i enjoyed watching.
I think the Dutch make the best beer personally.
I must disagree, the Belgians make the best beer. You must try Duvel, or Delirium Tremors, better known as DTs. Or try one of the Cheme varieties.
Gordon Kadatz Oooh I've heard of Duvel, better wait until I'm actually 18 so I can buy the stuff myself haha
***** OK but you can if not always find some contrariant old hippie to buy the poison for ya.
Gordon Kadatz Haha, Gordon come to Ireland please? Need some booze haha
Jeffery Peters This is very true in Ireland I think. Wine seems to only be on the rise though!
German Beer > Canadian Beer > Every other beer > American Water
This was intense, but German would cream them all.
Coca the word is baked
Seriously Belgium is way better!
Ireland > everywhere else
Bottom line is... nationality has nothing to do with it. It depends on the specific brewery.
Does it get you DRUNK?
Yes?
Good.
It's beer.
Now shut up and drink it.
vodka gets you drunk too
Atakan Temizkan so does whiskey
Canadian vs American Beer: What's Actually Better?
Answer: English Beer
Answer: German Beer
Answer: irish beer
Cider
german beer ftw!
Czech beer ;)
The girl with the longer hair is an educational assistant at my school
Elena Kap me too
Kyra Linklater wAiT wUt?!
Did you not watch the video? Imported you dimwit. Yes it was from Canada. Accept the defeat.
Yeah, I must agree on the vid being pointless. All beer tastes like piss.
True to true
aliichi
imported does not mean "purchased". that is my point. anyone can buy imported canadian beer in the us. but to experience the real thing, you have to buy it in canada. the canadian beer available in the us is not the same as what is available in canada. the taste test was in california, and the beer was supplied by an importer of beers. it is very different from what the canadians are drinking in canada. the only canadian beer worth drinking MUST be purchased in canada. the "imported" canadian beer that is available in the us is not worth the bother. thought i was clear the first time. like i said, when it comes to mass produced beer, the canadians win hands down. no friggen contest. but when it comes to craft beers, it comes down to each individual beer. plenty of great beers from both countries. unless you have ever had a canadian beer that you bought and drank in canada, you do not know what you are talking about it. go up there and have a molson export, a brador and a labatt 50, and then make your decision.
Beer ist like Genetics. Best kept pure
as a CANADIAN who has drank MANY different craft, mainstream, and upper mainstream beers from many countries i will rate what i like best:
Polish: zywiec
German: Spatten
Dutch: Grolsh - My GO TO beer for the price
French: Kronenbourg Blanc - best belgian white imo
Canadian: Anything Beaus, Sidelaunch and so many others to list
English: any ale really
irish: any stout really, but authentic guinness is the best
American: Pumpking
ill stop here. if i try to think this comment would take ages, so ill just post this. beers from every country are good really, but personally i wholeheartedly believe that canadian craft is some of the best in the world - this is coming from someone who has tried maybe 200 different beers
Lets face it guys, Britain has the best beer
If you like bittery bitter bitterness, I'm with you. But if you like things that actually taste like something crafty, try belgian beers. Especially the Barbaar or the Gulden Draak, to only name two of the best ones. Also try the britton ones, which are the only good french beers.
I didn't even know Brits drank beer, let alone made it. I thought they always had tea, and nothing but tea. Green tea, black tea, loose tea & herbal teas.
EvilMonkeyReturns HOORAY FOR CASUAL RACISM XD
Danclark79 British isn't a race
YESSSS
*Canada has beer?*
eh
Seriously?
Lol that's actually one of our stereo types, that we drink beer all the time
you have a brain? jk
No... I actually don't.... :( I was born with this rares diseases called
Sarcasm
This is like comparing Pepsi and Coke, beer is a speciality and everyone has their own preference.
Stop the hate the American-Canadian relationship needs to be strong we live in the same continent 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸
Canadian vs american beer? Try german beer. Especially the ones in the munich brauhäuser.
I was going to say something similar so thank you for pointing that out already 😊
Yes and also some of the northern beers^^
German and Belgium breweries excel at the older styles, frankly they do them way better then anyone else. However the newer styles they tend to not do so well. German's aren't big into change or trying new things. Styles like IPA's which are very huge in the states Germans do poorly, where as America and breweries like Russian River and Pliny the Elder is said to be one of the finest examples of an IPA around. California revolutionized IPA's and Craft beer. Though it all comes down to taste, some still prefer a Bud.
You paired up different styles. Hefe should compete against another Hefe, a Pale ale should go against another Pale ale.
I love the fact people say their beer is 'better'
Just shut up and drink it. Lmao
Beer is beer to me idc ill drink it. Haha
have you tried a corona or model or Sol dude Mexican beer has really good beer
Same...
It's an American born channel, so yeah
But they are biased as hell I agree
A few of their vids are putting America in place... Like the maternity leave one... But other then that I'm Canadian and I agree
Also buzzfeed did this thing where they had people react to the shooting in Ottawa and apparently my friend watched it and he said that there was this one guy who sad some really rude stuff about it and Canada, bro wtf. I never got to watch it cause they deleted it.
*Canadian butthurt intensifies*
when canadians say that american bear sucks there usually talking about stuff like bud light
Bud light lol....watered down beer that is watered down AGAIN
I don't care who won, I just want to know the names of the two hot canadian grls...
Same. Lol
Miley and Beyoncé.
Klumsy_Klé I'm 100% sure he asked for their names and didn't treat them like objects
Go Canada
Hanna
Lmao this guy was tryna create some sort of hype battle between American and Canadian beer and the first brew master was just like "yeah man... whatever beer you like... just drink that"😂😂😂
I'm canadian, i like beer, and thoses weren't good beers.. except for the alexander keiths and the Chambly.
Emilie Quesnel To be fair, the American beers selections weren't that great either, pretty standard run of the mill beers.
Picking Kanye to represent the US when you have Ryan Gosling for Canada?
+valinor Ryan Gosling is the only Canadian that Buzzfeed knows. They use him as "the Canadian" in most of their vids referencing Canada. Meanwhile, most Canadians have no idea that Ryan Gosling is Canadian. Like, idk, just pick Drake.
+Soycrates drake's Canadian
yoevan1
That was her point.
+yoevan1 Unfortunately :(
+valair Ryan Gosling really like come deadpool is better and he is Canadian and so is Ryan Reynolds
Let's face it, German beer probably is the best! (Or maybe Dutch)
Oh and *go Canada*!
True all the way man
The Belgians make the best though.
Im canadian and i agree
Top 3 as a Canadian would be Molsen Canadian / BudWieser / Moosehead
its like they picked the absolute worst from both countries. Every contest was between dog piss and cat piss. Also, most of those people openly admitted they dont drink or dont even like beer, so why is their opinion relevant?
Lmao seriously though. Besides you can't really compare who has better beer because everyone has their own tastes.
They got them for free so don't expect to good
Im from germany and i have been vacation in america. American Beers are like bad german beers with much more water. They are drinkable, but not good.
just drink german beer ;)
I'm Canadian and I've never heard of some of those Canadian ones.
America vs Europe
In everything
Europe would win
I don't think America has anything on Europe. With Europe being a continent n' all.
after you taste european beer, american beer tastes like a pee
Rofler42 Yea obviously you guys are the greatest in everything even the way your people sit on toilets it deserves a medal like OMG you are the best in the world and nobody can touch you because your like God and stuff and like uhm you guys are so cool like OMG your the best your the winner yeah you guys are such winners all you do is win because your so superior I wish we were like you guys because your so cool and stuff like omg
The U.S. Could take on all of Europe and still dominate. Socialist Europe is a joke anyway.
But who has better beer between American and Mexico....
We don't care about Mexico swill.
Elijah Garrison yeah right, so why so many Americans drink Corona, Dos X and Tecate
Exactly, and German beer advertises too so, are you really better or just do what everybody else does and advertise? Btw as I type this a Guinness Blonde commercial is on....advertising
I was talking about beer.
I am too. Great beer is not based on country, it's based on personal taste.
"People try Guinness for the 1st time" would be very interesting to me.
love Guinness
Connor Finn A lot of people don't... it's weird it's the most drinkable alcoholic drink I think. (Excluding shitty Alco-pops)
HarryWessex Hmmmmm, no for some people it is like trying to drink a loaf of bread. To be fair I don't drink beer that much, usually makes me sick, but I know others who have made the same comparison.
Katrina Schultz You're right, it does kind of taste like that, and maybe a little bit of cocoa or some shit. It's good to me haha
Katrina Schultz
Comparing guinness to a loaf of bread is a terrible comparion. Guinness is actually a really low calorie/carb beer compared to many, MANY of it's beer counterparts. It's about 125 calories and 10 carbs per pint.
all i could think about was the song "stronger beer" the whole time lmao
Me too 😂
Watch the documentary: "Beer Wars".
K
K
Kque?
K lel
Cool story bro. & K
there are people who like American beer?
Netherlands or germany boys
Also Belgium and Denmark.
And Czech republic
+Andrej Grinchuk
Becks is my absolute favorite...
Unfortunately it isn't brewed in Germany, but it still is brewed under german law.
+Mark Oh yes I don't think I was sober the whole time I was in the Czech republic. Beer at breakfast beer at lunch beer at supper some more beer just because. Good times.
+Mr9Guns haha thats the spirit
To be honest, you took the worst beers from Canada.
And still, there's nothing better than drinking fresh beer. There's a neat spot in Montreal where the best crafted beer is served in Canada.
C'mon Unibroue is pretty awesome. I for one was glad it was featured and blew Blue Moon away.
I'd like to thank America for all the Budweiser's you have supplied at the Rogers Centre the past two years while the Jays laid out pretty much all your AL teams. 👍
