Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 вер 2024
- As we look back to over 4 years ago we remember one of Mike's most memorable hunts! Kodiak Island, Alaska is home of some of the biggest Brown Bears in the world. This hunt is one that’s been on Mike's bucket list for quite some time and after making plans with guide and high school friend, Cole Kramer, he was in for an adventure that he will never forget.

you guys have a huge set of balls for this honestly... grizz at 12 yards with a bow?! ffs mindblowing
They did have rifles as well.
@@Micscience Ya stupid guide shot it running away.
Kodiak bears aren’t grizzlies. They are relatively non-aggressive.
Quite brave when you have a rifle behind you
The bear is in front of execution by firing squad.
Something you can’t teach in hunting is poise . The ability to focus on what you are doing without allowing the emotions get in the way . Great shot man I appreciate you explaining your thought process and why you did what you did ! Thank you man Great hunt and Shot once again Thank You!!!
No doubt, only comes with experience. It was almost a eerie calm moment where everything was happening in slow motion prior to the shot. He was so close that when I aimed through the peep all I saw was brown fur. Had to open both eyes and confirm what I was looking at and where I was aiming. 😅
Terrific hunt! When the fellow talked about Kodiak being unforgiving, he is not being dramatic. It can be, and it is often a very tough place. Congrats to these guys for the adventure and sharing it with us.
Especially the west coast on the upper end where all the WWII barracks are rusting away...!
The varmint call in to point blank range added a lot of entertainment value. Nice to see the guide NOT shoot the bear - I see threat happen way too often. Great hunt & trophy!
At no point in my existence have I thought "Man, I sure wish a massive killer Kodiak would eek its way toward me in murder mode." Minimally, I'm sporting a grenade launcher.
So much respect seeing you use a bow instead of a rifle
That had to be A MASSIVE adrenaline RUSH! WOW
Beautiful creature. The size of those paws are unreal
Was a beautiful creature
And now it’s dead
That went from ask, to tell, to make real quick haha “GET DOWN”! Great content
Got my heart pumpin and i wasnt even there, good job guys!
Was not the ideal shot, but it was the only shot. Glad it worked out!
That was incredible footage!! You talk about a please don’t mess this shot up moment. Amazing hunt
Amazing shot, fell him quick "An animal, is an animal. Even a maneater does not deserve to suffer"
Now that is real hunting.
there was no need to kill that beautiful Bear.
No need to comment either. If it wasn’t for hunting seasons and regulations, bears wouldn’t be protected. You can say what you want but your feelings don’t matter
I'm subscribed to your channel so I don't know how I missed this video but that was intense! Great job keeping your composure when a brown bear is stalking you and closing the distance fast!
Thanks! It was intense for sure!!
Good shot, nerves of steel and all, but the most disgusting thing I've seen all day...
Cave culture. "The Iceman Inheritance."
The patience, tracking, and, ability to make even a shot this close,is amazing. Congratulations!
What an incredible experience for you guys. Congratulations!
Great shot. One shot, one kill. Cool under pressure.
What an awesome hunt. Congrats. When the guide was saying shoot. shoot. shoot. i started tripping just watching lol
Always impressed with the lethality of a properly placed razor sharp broadhead. Simply amazing and fast!
These Bears should be protected not killed . This really is sad .
Congratulations on your hunt! Great looking Bear and a big beauty.👍👍
Bro was about six human sizes away from a Big Bear! Bears like that can rush you down within 0.5 seconds from that distance! Incredible Arrow and Bow shot!! my forfathers would make you one of their tribe leaders my friend!!
First let me say that was an awesome bear my brother. Being able to keep it together when the creature of that size is 12 yards from you is a testament to your intestinal fortitude and determination and harvesting the ultimate predator on Kodiak Island. I have to admit I had flashbacks of the day when I was red salmon fishing on a creek that fed into Volcano Bay that is west of Dutch Harbor Alaska back in the mid 80s when I was working for Trident seafoods commercial fishing processing salmon. Our floating processor was anchored in volcano Bay and we had gone ashore to stretch our legs and have a little fun fishing. I had just caught a nice red salmon and was turning around to put it on a stringer and I looked into the alders about 30 ft from me was a 700 to 800 lb sow watching me. I guess it was just an instant reflex because I really didn't know what to do so I threw the salmon at her and started screaming at the top of my lungs and thank God she turned and ran. Needless to say myself and my homeboys got our gear got back to the boat and went back to the processing barge. That was as close as I've ever been and yes that's close as I ever want to be because I didn't have a gun that day or anything to back me up that is if you don't count that loaded salmon that I threw at her. LOL
Wow. Glad she turned and ran!
Congratulations that was a great shot and beautiful harvest!
this is my dream hunt great vid man!
when the bear started to run my heart dropped 🙃🙃 you guys have balls of steel
It is fair to say that you have bigger balls than most!! Keeping yourself calm enough to pull that shot off is the sign of an awesome bowhunter!! Amazing footage!! Great work!!
Nerves of steel! Great dedication, determination, and completion of a hunt of a lifetime! Well done sir!
he has nothing to be nervous about he has nice coverage with a gun of a very good caliber and a curious animal that even does not try to revenge to its killer. I understand why it's necessary to reduce bear population but it's odd to see the guy to be so excited by this killing.
And by the way to keep health of the population you need to kill the weakest bears and not aplha males.
@@andreydolganin2974 your wrong . Even with the rifles , a bear can do a LOT of damage if shots miss the brain or spine at such close range it would be on you in a split second. And things would get seriously messy. Once it's on a man, it's risky and hard to get a killing shot into the bear without risk to the man getting chewed on. One bite to the neck or skull and your done. But he held it together very well!
Fur covered Volkswagen. That'll get your heart pumping. Awesome.👍☮️
Intense, pucker factor there! When you first shot it looked high and right but apparently not....great job and big congrats on an archery bear.
Heart shot!
What a shot dude!! WOW... I was shitting myself sitting here. Can't imagine the feeling.
wow amazing shot there sir well done. thanks for the upload
That was awesome! Brought back some scary memories. I lived on Kodiak back in 1984-1986. Had some close calls with bears in the antenna field at the Coast Guard transmitter site. Good on ya for putting that boar down quickly. 🍻
Oh buddy that would have made me feel like I'm going to mess myself. But what an awesome shot man. Awesome video keep up the great work.
That was a great thing to watch. I was hollering Shoot shoot
Very well done. This is hunting people.
Dude! That’s crazy! Awesome hunt!! What broadheads are you using for Grizzly?
Thank the Good LORD!!!
That was awesome
Awesome Job Fellas, that was a once in a lifetime shot, right through the chest, if you shoot a bear with a gun sometimes they can still charge, but almost every Animal. Bears too, Once they feel the Power of The Arrow, they want no part of it and quickly run away.
" He couldn't have got any closer". Close enough for me. Great shot, great hunt! Congratulations
Too close for comfort! Haha
So cool! Great shot & great camera work!
I bet that was a pucker factor of 10!
That's a powerful bow that arrow went through the entire bear wow great job guys!
I’m wondering what broadhead was used
Just what can you say but WOW. Great hunt Brother
among all bear hunt video this is number one, thank for sharing
What a gorgeous bear!!! Truly amazing. Good job on the hunt.
I'm speechless. I'm humbled.
Nice I always have my 45/70 and 10mm when bow hunting in grizzly country
I had never seen this part of the islands with that browned-out foliage before. Has an eerie beauty to it. Also, what an incredible shot - that bear was in sprint/burst distance and could have closed in a second.
Thank you!
I’ve seen almost every video on the net but this beats them all
Thank you!! 🙌🏻
Great video, great footage…and a couple huge sets of cahoonas 😂 awesome!
You guys are by far the ballsiest group I've seen on UA-cam! Went on trouble Island for the biggest brown bears🙌
This is insane, didn’t even think it was possible.
Great video!!! I thought the shot was high right but I was definitely wrong!!! Please make more videos like this!
Kodiak bears are a unique subspecies of the brown or grizzly bear (Ursus arctos middendorffi). They live exclusively on the islands in the Kodiak Archipelago and have been isolated from other bears for about 12,000 years.
"Kodiak bears are a unique subspecies of the brown or grizzly bear"
- WRONG, not 'of the grizzly bear', only 'of the brown bear'
- grizzlies _themselves_ are a brown bear subspecies; U. a. horribilis
- _both_ are brown bear subspecies
Man you guys have the best hobby in the world. Greetings from the Philippines.
Hell of a shot
Amazing, great patience, wonder what your heart rate was 👍🏻
hunted deer and elk my whole but never killed a bear they are to majestic
I agree they're such beautiful animals I could never shoot one. I get hungry when I see a deer on the other hand haha
That was pretty intense! I kept waiting for the bear to turn broadside but he just kept coming! Hardest part had to be finding the aimpoint, not the shot we bowhunters are conditioned to take. Well done and thanks for sharing.
Great shot
super sweet great shot
I used to think I would like hunting until I saw this.
What from this video makes you think you wouldn’t like hunting?
@@ericcartman8457 not sure if they have a reasonable expectation but as a hunter we deal with our emotions differently. Unless you have ice in your veins, it’s an emotional trip that most people can’t or don’t want to handle
@@michaelperez81583 I’m a hunter myself, I just don’t know what about this video makes Matt Greene think he wouldn’t like hunting.
Incredible!!!
Missing can get you FUBAR!
Definition of pressure!
I've had several bow techs and loved them.
Wow!!!!! Dam that boar got close…… good shot!!!!
Wow !! man kills yet again !! How fantastic !
😮 no words.
Seeing that bear run for its life down that mountain before falling head over feet is devastating. One of the saddest things I have ever seen. Every life is precious guys. Grow the fuck up.
you are clueless
Beautiful bear.
Beautiful shot.
Cool shots
I have never hunted, but the strategy involved is interesting to me. Same with golf. Great job! Thanks. 😎
Awesome vid for an awesome hunt. Unsolicited advice: Can we next time show some more footages of the bear in distance during glassing and the sneak? Hope it’s not too much to ask. The moment is intense as it is so totally understandable if it’s beyond what you guys are comfortable with to stay safe. It would just be super cool to see the animal and their behaviour and really appreciate them!! Keep it up guys👍🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for the feedback! This was our first bear hunt so it was also a learning experience behind the camera as well. We will definitely keep in mind down the road!
I was yelling "shoot! Shoot!" Watching this. Talk about not firing until you saw the whites of his eyes! U r braver than me sir
My you know what hole would of been puckering.
Intense footage!
hell yes congrats awesome video and bear and damn close
OMG right 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼wow way to get it done ! That was one plush furry ass Bear 🐻 lol ! Great Video
Trailing my last black bear i went around a stump he crawled in. He looked at me from four feet then i ended it. A brownie at 12 yrds u probably felt the same way i did!
Damn if you guys missed that shot from that close you would of been charged for sure lol
I'm gonna stand on the nighbourhood roof..wait for you to go shopping,..than go yayyy i'm amazing!!!:)
Nicely done men 👏 👌
That will give u a wake up call.
6:52 - look at the worm on the bottom gum of that beast
Awsome hunt!!
Wow! Thanks for sharing.
Good shot !
sickens me that anyone would kill one unless in self defense.
Do some research on the Kodiak brown bear. A mature bore will wreak havoc on younger males and kill cubs and even mothers. They are too populated on Kodiak island.
As hard as it might be to believe for many people this man’s doing more for conservation than most people.
Incredible under that kind of stress!
Damn, nerves of steel! We head to Chichagof for brown bear (with a gun) I think 50 yards will be close enough 😂
Great footage
An absolute behemoth of an animal
Very nice bear and shot.
What a shot!
A pair of Plutonium core, Tungsten Carbide and Diamond Clad BALLS!
That was intense!!!!!!!
This bear and my cousin Dominique are alike in this way: they both thought dinner was free, and they both ended up nailed
Wow!!!close!
