All this can be done with some 200ah Lithium batteries so you can free camp what you want. Run the diesel heater etc. Saves a lot on camping fees 12 nights free camp pays for a 200ah Kings batteryand to put some solar on the roof cost maybe 4 days caravanparks

Good advice. I recall our first couple of trips - first trip internal hatch door left open- second trip cupboard door left open- third trip picnic table not locked fell open while travelling. Then we thought best to have a check list and from then on no issues and good peace of mind nothing is being forgotten. We have everything you mention except the diesel heater.

Thanks for info.. always helpful. When we bought our second hand motorhome, the microwave had a cut off pool noodle that jams between the microwave plate and the top of the internal microwave. Works well.

You mentioned electrical zip ties. Try using the re-usable zip ties rather than just destroying each zip-tie when you are done. Also many carry an extra spare wheel when they travel remotely. It is very possible to do side-wall damage and destroy a tire and no amount of tire plugs will fix it. Cheers

Lovely to see you back! Tips are very helpful. We have just upgraded from a Jayco Freedom pop-top to a Jayco Starcraft 19.2 and are also driving a 2016 Isuzu MUX. We are packing it and then having the complete unit weighed. Hopefully we don't have too much trouble. If we are too close to maximum weight we will have to consider buying a new car. We will not be doing The Big Lap. Thanks and best wishes.

    BATTERIES:
If your batteries are Lead Acid AGM, then the 120Ah actually only have about 60Ah useable. You can get away with having a spare battery that you connect to it, but probably not the best practice. You would be better off replacing the Lead Acid with a Lithium type battery, where a 120Ah battery has 120Ah useable (double the equivalent rated Lead Acid, and half the weight). However it is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL that your Mains onboard charger, Solar charge controllers, and DC-DC charger from your vehicle have the correct charge settings for the battery chemistry you're using (Note that Lithium Ion is different to Lithium Iron Phosphate) or you can damage the battery and cause a fire. Obviously changing out your chargers can become an expensive exercise, but long term it's more economical and way better system.
If your battery is already a Lithium type, it is very important not to connect it in parallel with another battery that isn't at the exact same state of charge, because massive inrush currents flow and will damage the batteries. So in this case you can't have a spare battery that you pull out and connect to the other one via jumper leads.
    PHONE SERVICE:
Regarding the Telstra service through a third party.... Resellers (MVNO's) advertise that they use Telstra as their carrier, however you do not have full access to all of Telstra's network like someone who is a Telstra customer. Also your phone may not be able to use all of the frequencies, so this can limit reception.

They do do a lithium upgrade, its $1800 and includes 1 x 100 amp Zeal Battery. Not sure what that battery is like.
I need to do more homework. Lol

Lovely Ep and things you take Guys, Have you thought of replacing your 1 x 120amp AGM battery with a 120amp Lithium, I replaced our 4 x 120 amp Agms with 2 x 140amp Lithiums and lost 100kg in weight and they hold there power better to,

Thanks Craig, i would love to drop 2 120 amp lithiums in.
Ive been told i have to upgrade my Battery management system for lithium.
I have read i can drop the itech lithium 120 amp ones straight in but seems to be a lot of debate about it.
A lot of advantages for sure, it will happen, one day!
Thanks for the advice and watching.
      Appreciated
