Get to know Luciene Santinha!
Furious and powerful yes, but with much love and passion. Luciene Santinha started to samba dance when she was six years old and never stopped. She became Passista Queen for Academicos Grande Rio after 15 years. Among her Carnival and Samba Titles include Princess and Queen of Carnival for Duque de Caxias, city adjacent to Rio de Janeiro. In 2015 Luciene was awarded the prestigious “Estandarde de Ouro” prize as best samba dancer for the Rio de Janeiro Elite Samba Schools.
Apart from being a mother and producer of events, Luciene also chairs a voluntary project, where samba is taught to community girls. The project is called “Samba no Pe”. She defines the carnival as a great family where all get-together and where love is shared.
