After almost 40 years how is it possible that they still sound so damn good live. If you close your eyes when you listen to this, it damn near sounds like it did on the Live after Death album, and that was almost 30 years ago. Its madness I tell you. LOL UP THE MOTHERFUCKING IRONS IN ILLINOIS!!!!!
I always wanted to hear Powerslave live. And my wish actually came true during my first Iron Maiden concert on April this year. Bruce's matured vocal fitted more perfectly with this song. Cheers to everyone in Iron Maiden family!
Richard Choi lol same here man. became a fan a few years ago and Powerslave has been one my favs and was really excited to hear them play it live at my first concert. I went to the show in Toronto on April 3rd. was a hell of a weekend. Up the Irons!
Richard Choi i heard Powerslave for the first time this summer and it was very cool to hear it it is still my favorite and precious a song to me and i will always remember that i heard it live for the rest of my life
They have played this song maybe a thousand times live and it still sounds as fresh to me now as the first time I heard them do it live in 1984 at the Lee county civic center in FT. Myers Florida. That was my first ever Maiden show and I will never forget it.
They played this song on four tours in their entire career. Consider yourself lucky if you managed to catch it live few times in 99, 08/09 and on this tour, people had to wait 15 years for this song to get back on the set list. Bruce Dickinson's band (Dickinson/Z/Smith/Casillas/Ingraham) played it in 1997/8. Roy couldn't make the European leg of The Chemical Wedding tour, and Adrian took the first solo, so there you have the chance to hear Adrian Smith play a Dave Murray solo followed by his own on a Maiden song. He does a great job.
An epic masterpiece !!!! the guitars screams in torment, agony and hope, the lyrics makes you speechless, and the power of Bruce.......a simply outstanding song, a brilliant performance......just downright spellbinding.........
This song has some of the underrated lead guitar work of all time. It starts with a long and hauntingly beautiful solo from Murray, and then Smith comes of nowhere just ripping ass. Then they come together for a epic harmony, before Murray breaks away for some melodic shredding of his own, before returning to the harmony again. Simply phenomenal guitar playing.
Another masterpiece by the gods of heavy metal, or any metal....Their performance of this blistering song is like always, heavenly...Theese guys are incredible, and have been so for a very long time...and their musical capabilitys is overwhelming, and it gives a certain magic to the song that they included a choir part in the chorus....
Iron Maiden, the gods of heavy metal, performing this epic masterpiece with their charisma and stage presence like no others....the powerful lyrics, the spellbinding music, the magical voice of Bruce, and the choir-part in the chorus adds a little mystical atmosphere.....Absolutely Magnificent......
I watched them in São Paulo, and it was the happiest moment of my life. It was epic to hear the solo of Dave Murray in this music, and Bruce screaming: Scream for me, São Paulo! Thanks Iron Maiden for exist, for being part of my life.
maybe i'm being narrow minded but as of 17/01/17 my favourite musicians are..... favourite vocalist - bruce dickinson/paul di'anno favourite bass player - steve harris favourite guitar players - dave murray , adrian smith clive stratton and janick gers (but only just in that order or any order you prefer) favourite drummer - clive burr, nicko mcbrain (in that order) any others
Into the Abyss I'll fall-the eye of Horus Into the eyes of the night-watching me go Green is the cat's eye that glows- in this Temple Enter the risen Osiris-risen again. Es una. Banda increíble aún se nota la calidad, pero usar una mascara de luchador es genial y más aún que eddy personifica a un maya eso está aún mejor🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Bruce Dickinson...just a "selfmade actor" who can´t really sing - when it´s live - he mostly shouts out in every song: "Just scream for me....." while he is mostly self crying and screaming. . Maiden were the band of my youth and affected me in my kind of playing bass and guitar. But Bruce really started me to refuse the band from album to album. I saw them on the "Number of the beast" tour here in Germany. It was a great concert. But Bruce vocals and voice (over more octaves) really killed my goodness for Iron Maiden. Furthermore "Hallowed Be Thy Name" shows the future way, Iron Maiden will go. Longer songs, lot´s more of Bruces´"voice-travelling over octaves" let´s me to decide, not to buy more Iron Maiden Albums. "British Lion" of Steve Harris, is that, what a real Maiden-Fan is interested in. Not that "opera"-singing-stuff of Bruces´ Maiden. Bring back the "old"-Maiden again, and lots of fans will be very happy.
Avraham Greenhut every line in your face tells a story about your life and personality, and we are all getting there, personally I think they are better looking than ever...
Oh, I agree (well in a heterosexual sense...lol) it's just that it just seems like a lifetime ago that I ran into my bedroom, tore the cellophane off the Piece of mind album, pulled the lyric sheet out and put the needle to the vinyl. In my minds eye he's always in that machine gun stance or doing the flying V kick off the drum riser.
Like Adrian's solo on Live after Death better...way more rocky on his gold top.. he seems to do more tapping stuff nowadays in that solo as well in the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner ... prefer the LAD versions better...more interesting n shit and that and stuff etc ... keyboard backing vocal funny... Yannick should piss off at the end with his fills and just leave it to The Dave...pooh arse
I never knew Rey Mysterio could sing so well.
It's blue demon man!! A true legend
Es Bue Demon leyenda de la lucha libre mexicana....
The Best solo of Iron Maiden 2:53

I always wanted to hear Powerslave live. And my wish actually came true during my first Iron Maiden concert on April this year. Bruce's matured vocal fitted more perfectly with this song. Cheers to everyone in Iron Maiden family!

Title-track from the best Maiden's album ("Powerslave", released in 1984). The World Slavery Tour was amazing!
mr Dave Murray fantastic solo
Lol 4:05 - 4:07 looks like the solo is making Dave Murray a little sleepy 😂
Also I love Adrian's guitar playing (on every fucking thing). So much feeling!
Legends, true metal gods. Bands of today will fade away in 30 years. Heck some bands in the late 90s already have. UP THE IRONS!
I can't believe how awesome Bruce sounds on this one! FUCKING A!
I don’t think Dave could ever comprehend how much this solo moves people.
Unlike most metal bands (KSE, Slipknot, whatever), Bruce actually sounds good live.
Hats off to MR Mc brain, 64 years at the time and plays dynamic as the original.

I'd never seen another version of Adrian's solo that compared to the definitive Live After Death gig...until now. Yes I'm a massive dork.
