Jonathan, I have just spent 20 minutes spellbound by your presentation. I have to say that it is the most intelligent, articulate and scientific description of the golf swing that I have ever heard. Politicians, professors and lecturers could learn so much about delivery, and PGA teachers everywhere really need to buck their ideas up and deliver with the vision, passion and clarity that you possess. This comes from a lot of study and hard work. Thank you.
You are very welcome!
I totally agree Robbie. The amount of time that Jonathan puts in to really thinking deeply about the golf swing is evident in his content. It isn't just a regurgitation of generally accepted concepts, but a thoroughly investigated, analysed and tested view that enables him to explain extremely complicated concepts in a way we can digest, comprehend and emulate. I do enjoy another UA-cam coach too but JT has made the biggest contribution to my understanding of the golf swing and the significant improvements I've made to mine. Thanks JT 😊
Ive never heard this kind of explanation in other tutorial vids! thank you very much for the detailed lesson Jonathan
You are welcome.
Your teachings are immensely imperative to my progress. Thank you.
You are very welcome
Amazing revealing stuff that no instructor even touches, and for me, the essential missing piece. Thanks for the PDF, it is totally enlightening, Looks like years of work went into it, a resource that all golfers would benefit from. Kudos to you and thanks again
Jonathon is both the hero we need, and the hero we asked for.
Thanks Jonathan, not seen you before on UA-cam but very interesting. Incidentally, I recently came across an explanation why you need to compress the ball at impact for a proper strike. Really simple - that's the way golf clubs are designed. For example, if you lay a golf club sole flat on the ground with a ball against the face, the centre of the ball will be touching the bottom half of the club. So in order to hit the centre of the club face i.e. the sweet spot, the club must be delofted at impact. Food for thought?
Interesting. Will try
Thanks for such a great explanation. Pdf downloaded! Please keep doing this! Thanks!
Seems like arms could be passive at the top as the change in weight shift and the forward rotation pull the arms and keep them extended.
Crucial piece of the golf swing. Ty.
PDF downloaded! Thank you.
Enjoy
With Jonathan I always feel like I’m listening to a PhD while most golf instructors sound more like undergrads.
That's because most instructors don't want to fully disclose many parts of the swing. They either feel the student can't handle it or they want to keep the student coming back.
@@markio2010. I think it’s because they don’t have the deep comprehension that JT does. But that’s just my feeling. I know some of them are basically copy cats because you’ll hear something kind of original on one channel and then it starts showing up on other channels in short order.
Top shelf
Thanks
can you boost your mic's volume next time. I had my sound maxed out and could barely hear you.. Very detailed description. Thanks.
Noted!
@@JonathanTaylor63 no problem here
Hi Doug, I will still take a look at the Mic settings and make sure but thanks for the feedback.
Great vid! So what is it that the tour pros have that prevents the club overtaking the hands as soon as it does for us mortals? Is it just speed through impact?
Good question! They are able to turn their bodies in such a way that they can apply pressure to the grip until well after impact.
Ah! It is kind of counter intuitive that to maintain lag/lean we actually need to maintain forward force onto the club. The more of this coupling force I feel between the two hands - casting if you like - the more I maintain the lean angle. Funny!
Very good Johnny, that is exactly it!
Thank you, Jonathan. This has been the eureka moment I have been searching for.
@@johnnybravo9087 so would it be like if I took the club to the top and started my downswing--- if someone could hold the head of the club from going down but yet im pulling the handle forward?? is that the feeling??
I feel like I’m watching John Malkovich...with a bit of an accent. Excellent instruction...hope I didn’t offend.
I am no bothered but I don't think John would be too pleased :)
Jonathan when I lead with my hands ahead at impact, yes I get pure strikes, but the flight is too low. Especially with the driver it doesn’t get to full height. Maybe im not releasing the club correctly . Any ideas .
It is difficult to know for sure without seeing your swing but it is unlikely you have too much lean. Check that you are staying behind the ball through impact and that you ball position is not too far back in your stance.
What Jonathan said. Plus consider tee height - you may need to tee it a little higher to get more of an upward attack to increase the launch angle. Right Jonathan?
paid the dosh but didn't get redirected to a download page?
Please send me an email to jtgolfing@hotmail.com
Hi Jon, I paid for the pdf but was never presented with the link. I've sent multiple emails requesting the pdf but haven't received a response. Could you please take a look?
Sorry about that! I will take a look tomorrow:)
@@JonathanTaylor63 Thank you for your response. Looking forward to getting that pdf!
