Nice town, lovely white houses, and restaurants. Nice viewpoints along the path. Nice going to the top and getting that lovely view of the area. Take care
That is Frigiliana: white washed houses are so beautiful. Lot's of tourists all the time. This trail is narrow, crowded and hot even in October - shadows are rare luxury. Recommend to start early.
This mountain is unforgiving: even in October it's hot to hike up this steep rocky path. Lot's of water and snack needed. I recommend to drive up to Castillo de Lizar parking lot and then towards the local water station. It took us almost 5 hours to walk this 6,75 km route. The last rise up to the summit was challenging: narrow, steep and rocks rolling under my feet. I think this trail is more demanding than Pico de Cielo (1509 moh) as there goes a wide partly concrete covered road most of the way. To summit El Fuerte (The Forstress) is to win yourself. Good luck!!
Hmm, I don't agree with you about the difficulty. It takes 2 to 2 1/2 hrs (one way) for El Fuerte and I think the path quite easy. It takes 4 hrs (one way) for El Cielo and although the road takes you half the way, I found that part very boring. Then it's quite a steep ascend up loose rocks at the end. In my opinion much more challenging than El Fuerte which I though was a piece of cake. I do agree with you about the hotness - this October has been particularly hot and you're brave to have done it now. Maybe that contributed to the difficulty level? I'm waiting for it to get a bit cooler before a return trip :)
@@thetravelsofbbqboyandspank8535 it's really challenging as exposed to the sun all the way..high bolders in steep places - hiked it twice: 33C degrees/23C degrees and both of them sooo hot and I had only thin sports shorts and sleeveless T-shirt on. When on the mountains always had to carry lots of water (1 litre/person this trail was not enough) and protein snacks. I summitted El Torrecilla on Sierra Nieves National Park (1919 moh), 20 km trail and it's considered moderate/difficult: I would rather go back there than on El Fuerte trail: not my peace of cake at all. But hey: we all have our own favs and that's ok.

looks like it starts from a great little picturesque towns. an attractive path on top of the hills with great views!! Thanks for sharing!
Frigiliana is one of Andalusia's prettiest white towns, right at the base of the mountains. Great place to live if you're a hiker.
