Phew! As a frequent passenger on the CSS&SBR from Michigan City to Chicago and back in the 1940's-1950's, words fail me as I struggle to remember how it was 70-some years ago. Brilliant production. Thank you for this post.
Masterful. Thank you, Paul. Beautifully filmed and soundtracked. So tragic to see the swan-song of such an historic interurban, soon to become "just another electric railroad". I had the pleasure of seeing and riding this street track in 2016 and 2019, and went back a few weeks ago to see the double-tracking being done. Instead of being a vibrant street where inhabitants could freely roam between cars and infrequent trains, the whole community is now going to be cut in half by a segregated railroad.
Drone was a Mavic Pro. A few shots were hand-held using the drone. "Land camera" was a Panasonic AG-UX180. A few more shots were contributed by friends using i-phones.
Omg im so sad this is going away I was talking the south shore line out to Michigan city on the street seance I was 4 and I’ve had a lot of good memories I went here to Michigan city for my 10th birthday in 2020, I’m very sad, I’ve had so many good memories 🥲😔😢
@@botaccount1996 11th Street is now a one way street I believe eastbound. At least with 2 tracks we'll be able to have more trains in both directions. Freight trains won't be as much of an interference. Now the final improvement should be double tracking all the way to the South Bend International Airport east of Michigan City IN.
Wow! Great video! Sad to see street running end but great to see the South Shore live on with the improvements. Still America’s last interurban.

Really top notch videography and the soundtrack was the perfect complement to the scene. Really enjoyed it!
Thank you!

Thank you very much. Treasure those memories.
Thank you for the memories
Nice multicamera work in low light!
Lovely stuff! Always nice to see a bit of street running.
This is a fantastic video....
Thank you for posting it😊
Absolutely Fantastic! The shot selections & the editing are great.
Thank you!
Amazing footage and editing
This is great!
This music I've heard at many weddings especially with the organs.
Very good video! What kind of camera(s) did you use? The low light shots in particular were exceptional quality!

Where was that girl running to at 4:43?
Now to see any trolleys running in the streets you have to go to NEW ORLEANS LA. or SAN FRANCISCO. ALSO PHILADELPHIA.
Great video. What drone are you using. I want it but one for similar projects.
Old Mavic Pro.
This railroad will now be just like SEPTA REGIONAL ELECTRIC RAIL MAINLINES in PHILADELPHIA.
The RAILFANS are most likely sad that this street trackage is being eliminated.
I’m very sad!
