My precious......plush
The spirit of the 90's gaming was couch co-op with your friends on SNES and looking through Nintendo Power.
I hope those toys are listed online. They would probably sell on your website.
As far as a suggestion on The Retro Nook: Definitely a 90’s TV and nothing screams more 90’s nostalgia than 2 Huge Bean Bag Chairs.
Exactly what I was thinking. 90s for me is a Trinitron CRT, SNES, and crazy colorful bean bag chairs. "Wooden" aesthetic was never what I was into
youi need wood paneling in that corner, lol
Knock out the corner. Install some brown wall paneling. Vintage or made to look vintage 80s/90s couch or even love seat to save space. Vintage TV. Vintage game and or movie poster on wall. Maybe small shelving to display things that are for sale or NFS. Maybe an old floor lamp, etc.
For the retro nook, you need an old school console TV....one of those old RCA 25" TVs where you can put a VCR and NES on top of it. Stack some VHS tapes around the VCR, leave some NES carts on top of it.....don't need a couch, just a recliner or love seat in front of the TV....get an old school red or green shag carpet rug to put down as well.
why don't you have a online shop for bigger high price items that don't move in the store
In the retro nook definitely a CRT TV and some sofa chairs but also a fluffy rug you can sit on and play video games. Bowls of candy, popcorn, and a slushie maker too would make it my dream place! ☺️
Blockbuster corner with 90s consoles
Really dig that Legends of the West shirt
Just like the pixel squad says rick hates vegetables 😂
Regarding the pokemon card stands, the least you could ask the person who made them is to make them in other colors like pokemon yellow and the other colors. And why not ask him to print some pokemon, like, just half of the body with their hands so you can put some cards in it.
You guys make a great duo, keep up the amazing work.
I don’t know if you’ve been there but in Fayetteville there’s arcade called Arcadia Retrocade which mainly has a lot of Arcade games. But in the back they have these 2 big couches and 4 TVs. 1 Tv with SEGA Genesis, a tv with TurboGrafx16, another with a SNES and the other one with a N64. I think it would be sick if you had something similar to that one big couch with 1 or 2 TVs to play some like SNES,N64,PlayStation or some other consoles.
Make the retro nook a small cozy living room area(just the corner) with a CRT tv with a shelf with old systems ready to play. Wood panel wall and a little area rug with 2-3 comfy chairs.
Does the store have a website? Would love to shop for the more expensive toys.
I would say an Ebay online one would be good and easy to maintain because anything else he's gonna have to pay for it and it might not be as profitable.
Could do a recessed flat screen and attach wood as a border to mimic a vintage set up.
That is what I was thinking, would look cool!!
You have to get some sort of 1990s/2000s oak cabinet or smaller oak entertainment center. i had one in my room for a long time that i played Wii and GameCube on. They're also pretty cheap or sometimes free
I would love to see 90s ultimate game room. Like a game room set up dedicated to the 90s. Or like that on set up ur friend does at conventions with 90s furniture like a blast from the past style.
RIck, I love the store update tours. It's always fun seeing what's currenty on the shelves and how they are selling.
with retro corner, you should def treat it like a 90s game basement with couch, tv, empty retro pizza boxes, etc.. like stage it like it was never touched since the 90;s
The 90’s nook should be like that 80’s setup you saw at one of the conventions. The one with the classic Pizza Hut box? Not exactly like that but something similar. Then you could hold small Smash or Mario Kart tournaments…
I’d love to see a retro setup. You’ve vlogged them at a video game convention before. But I think people would play a retro game, sit down and others would watch.
I don't get the Warheads thing. I bought some from an import candy store when it said they were extremely sour but they really do nothing...
That retro nook really needs that 80’s NES kiosk where you change those games time to time and then some kind Sega retro machine with goldenaxe to play.
Use the set like the arcade have that you when to were the couchs and game set up play area with lighting and wall decor etc..
Met you in Rogers AR at a flea market🔥Excited for the NWA videos!
Maybe include a RF switching box with the TV?
I have core memories of reaching behind the tv to pull out the nes cable and put in the video cable or the antenna for the tv. I don’t think visitors to the store could do that, but if you have a NES and a VCR setup. Maybe they can use the rf switch to flip over to a vhs or back to the nes. I believe the pal NES came with an official one.
As for the idea on the corner hangout, what about making look like the old Pizza Hut restaurant layout with the tables, chairs and the little hanging Pizza Hut chandelier.
90s there should be memorabilia; tamagotchis, polly pockets, ferby, vintage tv and video games to play, 90s couch and rug, and tv show figures from that time frame
Make it a small game room/cave with your at home complete nes set. Add a yor man cave
Nook - couch with coffee table. Maybe a flush tv playing old Pokémon movies, watching streamers of a popular game and plug in an old system. Also, maybe sell drinks. Kind of a hangout. Could do a smash bros tournament there too.
Make the retro couch corner modeled after Arnold’s room from Hey Arnold! Every 90’s kid wanted that room growing up.
wood framed 80s tv, some long pile carpet, an 80s style couch, wood paneling and nes or genesis. So people can either sit on the couch and play or sit on the carpet like the old days
The nook needs an awesome old TV, retro couch, and for sure a rug. Also I whole heartedly think Michael could make the working NES table thing.
I still have my original pull string woody with hat that I got when I was a child back in 95. I'm pretty sure it's the thinkway one as well
@retrorick if you could find a couple of those old walmart displays that we used to try games growing up where you looked up ⬆️ would be sick in that corner! Would be hard to find i assume but maybe something like that
For the retro book, you should recreate a living room display with retro furniture and appliances, lamps, etc, from like a Sears department store. Complete with ugly wallpaper!
You have to make that corner an 80's /90's living room, ugly couch, wooden unit, TV that weighs more that the building itself, the works! Would be so cool!
Slick Rick with the big ....
What sort of lunatic paints without putting down a protective sheet to catch paint drips?
Retro Nook? That is a no brainer. A Ms.Pac-Man cocktail table arcade game! Not a reproduction arcade1up, but an authentic real Bally Midway table!
I have what I’m pretty positive is a CIB Toxic Crusaders box is in great shape if you’re interested.
You put up CIB n64 games above the tv in a glass cabinet and a nice comfy 90s lookin' couch
Holy crap I have never seen that Rampage plushie before on fact I didn't even know the sequel came with plushies super cool fir sure.
how much trade in value is a PS3 SLIM 160gb ?? Love the store gotta plan a trip, cheers from Austin Tx
My neighbor is actually one of the original creators of the rampage game
Dude! That’s so crazy this is in this video, I just picked up a boxed bullseye (woodys horse) today!
in the nook bean bags lava lamp pinball machine maybe make it look like a rewind retro corner?
I think the couch lamp and old retro tv and Nintendo power magazine on the wall would look cool in the corner
Yeah...but...putting a couch In is asking for gamer gunk 🤮. I'd stay away from sofa material. Lol
I think Rick got some of my shirts. I had the black Davey Allison and white Jeff Gordon tees! Brings back memories. My mom trashed so many great items
For that vhs 📼 corner u guys gotta add be kind rewind sign somewhere,as for ur 90”s corner u guys definitely need a add a tv and kool posters like mighty ducks and add a ps1 or n64 be perfect 👍🏻
1:12 Rick i love that Speedway shirt.
At 8:32 I want that Playstation sign on the wall. Wonder how much that runs for.
If your going into the wall with the tv, make the tv look like a 90s nintendo display. Box in around the tv with logos. Like at toys r us
Prices for retro stuff has gotten way out of hand, wonders why a $150 figure and $250 metal lunch box isn't selling....
Ikr id look at that krang then prob set it back down lol $250 for a lunchbox. Hell no lol and ya know they got it for cheap too then want a ridiculous price for it
Crazy the toys don't sell well. There is a store near me that sells mostly toys like crazy and then just has a small section for retro video games. Every market is different I guess. =)
Same here but one place here prices are lot better too on toys. Heck got a ps3 the other day for under $100 that looked brand spanking new while other places want $140 or more. I guess not all places use pricecharting or ebay to make their prices
If you get the giant controller, I say Tetris on NES with a leader board. Catch is you have to use the giant controller. Playing on a terrible rear projector tv might be a nice touch.
CRT tv is a MUST for the nook. And wood paneling
An orange Nickelodeon couch in that corner would be so fun! 🧡
Bean bag chairs, ultimate 90's loungers
RETRO NOOK WANTS: It’s really small but I would love a coffee table with retro magazines on it in front of the TV to read (I know that might be difficult with potential theft) but maybe instead of retro magazines it could be customized magazine/leaflet with information about the history of the store?? also could be a good spot to house wireless controllers
I’ll say everyday… really wish you guys had a store in westchester/putnam valley NY 😭😭😊🍻
Do you have the Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior pull string figures?
She won the Warhead challenge but Warheads aren't as sour as they use to be in the 90s.😢
👊😜👍
Warheads change the recipe of encapsulated citric or whatever acid after some kid younger got 3rd burns on his tounge cause he ate too many. 90’s one were punishing AF
You need one of those old brown flower print couch In the nook
You can build the Giant NES Controller! Just take a NES Controller, and have the giant buttons set off the buttons on the original board! Literally nothing else to it! Do it!
Personally I would probably clean out the corner and move all the arcade cabinets you have scattered across the store like the PlayChoice10 there and turn it into a mini arcade. Don't like the idea of putting a couch there.
Also as cool as it is to have all those statues like Master Chief, they take up some much real estate
gawd if you had your collection from your house. i miss your little room full of all your grails...it would be a great to see in real life....if i ever visit
For the retro nook why not get a bunch of stuff from antique shops to make it look like a living room from the 80s ! really give it that retro nostalgic vibes so many of us grew up with
Could almost entirely do it off free stuff off Facebook marketplace I see retro crts for free 80-2000s furniture all the time free but a quick stop to a antique and some bigger thrift stores you could do it easily this would be best maybe a more modern triniton with older furniture so you have something from GameCube Era but the older furniture like NES era as usually parents upgraded tvs but not furniture lol
Rick! Try taking the plushies off the stairwell railing and have those sweet jumbo retro controllers leading up there instead, I think it would look rad.
Moon shoes?!?! That box was awesome. I had those as a kid
I used to have a Mr. T pull string. He rocked!
I would love to see it made into a typical 90’s basement gaming hangout
I love the look of wooden panelling from the 70s
You guys are awesome!
idk just noticed your logo in sitting on a bean bag. may set up a bean bag in that corner with sofa etc, also 3d print your logo on a beanbag would look cool . just an idea
Ive got a old black and white tv to put into that wall. Knobs included 😂.
I love Rick.. Your ideas are awesomeness
.give them time to catch being an a good
do you have an online store for international fans (Canadians)?
I collect keychains and I don't think I have ever heard of a keychain that expensive. (I mean one with an actual confirmed sale.) Maybe the pizza slice retailer incentive for Earthbound.
Vintage Mickey D booth would be awesome.
that Woody takes me back, I had it as a kid.
What is the NES holy grail? I can’t find it on the other channel 😳. Little Samson?
Retro Nook: those moon shaped rocking game chairs, Surge or Mt Dew, mario kart and super smash bros on 64, Some sort of snack provision
Put the expensive Superman lunch box in the I beam. I saw you put a bunch of different ones up there.
i think in the little retro corner you need the old confetti carpet
9:23 80’s Rosanne couch and a huge wood console tv.
Rick finally got a woody!! Congratulations
You should TOTALLY mock that nook space up as a teenage gaming bedroom or like a basement hangout spot.
Paint more of the store black. The items will pop out. That white is very outdated. But other than that... it's a beautiful store!
check the boots on the woody figure to see if it has the spurs. if so its first edition 🤙🏻
Pokémon card is looking 🔥
I would like to see a vintage snack machine with all 90s stuff.
Mini consoles which could influence more physical purchases in store
1:49... Maybe be the $140 price tag... i sure someone who's into that would see it's worth it... but, it go yikes... if i saw that.
No couch in the nook you need bean bags like we use to sit on as kids in front of our gaming tv in the kids room.
Thank you for your guys hard work and showing what’s up it’s inspiring
I’d say Christina won the challenge.
Absolutely love Rampage, my favorite is Total Destruction!
