Great interview, with the some great people, behind a great company. It's amazing how far the company has grown and the products they continue to bring under one roof.
Thanks for doing this video, Erik. I have a MPA rifle and am going to be getting a .300 PRC in a MDT chassis in the next couple of months. This video is exactly what I was looking for in deciding about my purchase! You're always a step ahead!
Electronic trigger for center fire rifles as Walter made for its air rifles ! Outstanding idea! That will definitely make a difference in precision! Good job!
@@Moraprecisionreloader May 1 2020 they prohibited all AR’s and 1800 other models of scary looking guns, Sept 2022 they prohibited all handguns, a couple months ago they amended that law at the last second to include all semiautomatic rifles with a detachable magazine and any firearm ‘capable’ of firing a projectile of 10,000 joules or a bore over 20mm, the wording of capable is so vague that it could be all bolt action rifles and all 12 gauge shotguns, they named single shot rifles by name like the Ruger no. 1 ect and also it’s an evergreen bill meaning anything new they don’t like, they can also lower the joules number any time they like to 5,000 or 1,000. The publicly stated goal is complete civil disarmament, “only police and military should have guns’. So you tell me what that means for Canada 🤦♂️
Thnx for the video EC. Although i'm just a casual shooter who will probably never get to put most of this to use, i still find it all fascinating! Headed to the range, have to finish this vid later.
What I would like to do is have them build a dedicated bench rest Chassis. I have some ideas that would help to yield a Chassis that would be a big seller. I have 3 permission rifles now, looking for a new build. Is that something that MDT would consider?
Daystate has been producing electronic triggers for some time for airguns, Thomas air rifles made one for benchrest a while ago (they were subsequently banned in AG Benchrest). I have a friend who made one for his several of his competition air guns. This is nothing remotely new and neither is the scope level (the Long-Shot Micro Level was patented over a decade ago and you see the led lights when you look through the scope), I have two that I have been running in airgun field target competition since 2013... I'll also add that to make a difference in F-Class you would want a remotely actuated electronic trigger (trigger button set in a box sitting next to your rifle). This is why the Thomas electronic trigger was banned from airgun benchrest. Mechanical triggers will go as light or lighter than the electronic ones and be far more safe from being triggered when the stock is accidentally bumped. The electronic switch is tiny and the trigger shoe has enough weight to set off the electronic switch. On air guns the trick is actuating the valve with a couple thousand psi of air behind it, on PB's you only have to push a firing pin into the primer (this uses a fraction of the force needed to open an air valve). You may gain a sub fraction of a fraction of a millisecond of hammer travel using a solenoid for a PB, but you risk failure of the system over a traditional mechanical trigger.
Great products but shipping is absolutely ridiculous!!! Bought a factory second in stock rifle stock for black Friday......Nearly January and it still hasn't shipped!!
It is unfortunate, the state of Canada. They are closing in on their citizens with tons of oversight. It would be great if they made a move to the US. For their business, a lifestyle if they can make that sacrifice.

Erik you really should do an interview with Ryan from international barrels ! Another great Canadian company 🤘🏻🤘🏻

They were used during ww2 on 20 mm tail guns. Electric contacts on the primer.
Canadian’s Representing 👊 When are you moving to Texas now that all firearms are being prohibited and confiscated in Canada?
Is this the truth or you don't like your country because I seen this on TV that it is been discussed in the capital.
Has the law been introduced?

Feels like an infomercial, I’m out.
Get me three levels I'll get you three opinions on whether your level or not....
Standby for the Luddites and FUDDs to lose their minds over electronic triggers.
