Solid vid. I bought 10 acres of hardwoods this spring. Both of my neighbors are 300 acre plus guys who manage and have good food plot programs. It’s fairly hilly but my plan is to add 2-3 acres of food plots over winter and hinge cut to screen it better from the road. They can do the heavy lifting for the herd, I just tv need the big boys to slip through for some food. I’m sandwiched right between the two larger properties in the main chunk of timber and have the only thermal cover for quite a ways.

The neighbors that surround you are a bigger variable than how many acres you have.

I arrowed a Booner on my 10 acres this season, and saw several more pope and young bucks on it as well. It's all in how you set it up, knowing when your small parcel is at its absolute very best, and only hunting it then. It also helps tremendously to have a good neighbor or two!! You can honestly do a lot more with 10 acres than what you think you can if you really put some thought into it

As a large parcel land owner of hunting land, the only way this happens is if the 10 acres is next to larger well managed pieces, this is merely taking advantage of your neighbors hard work, sweat equity, money, resources, etc. I have several small tract owners around me and its disgusting because when they kill one they think its all them and everything they did, yea ok. I can clear cut mine and develop a giant subdivision, a cattle ranch with nothing but pasture or perhaps a solar farm and guess what MR. 10 acres, you have zero deer.

I feel ya. I’m 30. Just got permission to hunt 40 acres. I’m hooked. First time I ever went solo I killed a big doe. Ever since I haven’t had a good chance to get a shot on another one. Haven’t seen a buck. I’ve spooked them for sure.
