He does. I told him.
I grew up watching the guy, deepest respect for him.. a forever icon,in IMHO... God bless him.
Ok
What would the world be like without Jerry Mathers and Leave It To Beaver, one of the greatest shows of all time.
Jerry is the person that you could recognize no matter his age. He is a class act.
This interviewer is the best. He asks the right questions and gives people a chance to fully answer. And he also truly appears to be interested in the celebrity he is interviewing.
One of the best people ever! So down to earth and natural and oh so likeable! Maybe the only star to ever say how happy he was as a child actor. All the best to him!!!
And Ron(ny) Howard.
As someone who has been watching The Beaver since the early sixties, this couldn't have made me happier! So good glad to see Jerry looking so wonderful and happy!!! ❤
Jerry Mathers seems so down-to-earth and likable. I still love the series to this day.
It's very sweet that Jerry Mathers is just like a grown up Beaver Cleaver.
Talent Never Fades.
@@h8troodoh Not just the talent, but what comes across as an inherent guilelessness and sweet charm.
Because he is a grown up Beaver Cleaver.
He is still SO CUTE. I was so sad to lose Tony Dow. Both are so precious.
I read that Hugh Beaumont had a very rare blood type that is only shared with the Hapsburg royal family. He really was a man with great natural dignity and likability - he had a very special quality. I love Leave It To Beaver. I get very defensive when people criticize the show. It was truly funny and enjoyable, the boys said and did things that shows the way children actually think, often times. Watching the show lifts my spirits. Jerry is very much appreciated by me!
Paula , LTB makes me smile everyday too!
@@LSU01 Something about it is so uplifting! I don't think it's unrealistic either.
Hugh Beaumont also played in bid pictures before beaver
Hugh Beaumont was an excellent choice for the show.. my only beef with him was he was an Conscientious Objector, apparently. But,he was also an ordained minister, too. So...
Beaver was like a live action Charlie Brown. From the young person point of view.
As a baby born in "59" I loved this show......and I still do!!! ♥️ It's a classic! God bless you Jerry Mathers, Tony Dow...Hugh Beaumont...and Barbara Billingsly
I just have to say how much Leave it to Beaver was a huge part of my childhood. I never missed a show. If Jerry sees this comment I want to say thank you. The show was the best part of my childhood. Since then it has remained in my heart. Lynn
Thank you for sharing Lynn.
I wish that I could have conveyed my thoughts to Tony and the entire cast that passed years ago. My kids you to say “mom, you are just like June - pearls, heels, apron and Hoover sweeper. Love to that have gone and those who are still with us, especially Jerry. ❤️
Loved the show. My older brother nicknamed me Beaver because he bailed me out of trouble like Wally did for the Beaver. Jerry served honorably in the Air Force too…good guy.
Thank you for sharing David and for watching.
Ther was a rumor of him getting killed in Vietnam that went viral lol back when in the day. Sooo glad it wasn’t true. Great person and show
❤️❤️I started kindergarten in 1957 and I am 70 now…still standing. Best years ever 50’s to now 🎉🎉
I used to live in L.A. Many years ago we had an incident in our neighborhood and LAPD Officer Ken Osmond responded to handle it. Very nice guy.
I had the pleasure of meeting / chatting w/him many yrs. ago after a show @ a small comedy club in the Twin Cities. Extremely nice man, very cordial, down-to-earth and engaging. All the best to him and his family.
Jerry is a class act. Great interview.
"Leave it to Beaver" is on MeTv weekdays daily here in south Florida, 2 episodes back to back. And even though I've seen 'em all they still crack me up. Can't thank you enough for all the laughs and great memories of you and all your cast members throughout all these years.
Thanks for sharing!
8am I watch it too.
What a lovely man Jerry is. I also appreciate how respectful the interviewer was.
Really love the show. Iconic.
I am around your age and my older brother was about Tony Dows age. I loved your show. You are so loved . I am so glad you are still around and seem very healthy Charley.
Excellent interview! Jerry and I are the same age. I grew up watching the show. I'm still watching it today.
Thank you Jerry our ages are not too far apart, but I did grow up watching Leave it to Beaver. You and Tony always maintained who you are inside.. and never let the Hollywood Curse manifest itself and change you into something else. Many families lived very similar ways ways as Leave it to Beaver regardless of color, race etc. You guys were all fantastic God Bless you and your wonderful family. The world is a very different place than it was 70 years ago. I miss the old days very much. Thank you for being apart of our lives.
Even in a crowded stadium, if I spotted him I would know immediately that was the Beaver.
I am smiling too after watching this interview. Jerry Mathers is so genuine. He and Leave it to Beaver remind us of a kinder, gentler time. Thanks for this uplifting interview.
Well said Teresa.
I was born in 1957. Watched a ton of Leave it to Beaver reruns! ❤
So enjoyed this great and upbeat interview with a fine man and his wife.
RIP TONY DOW. Wally Cleaver. The greatest older brother any one could have and the handsomest.
What a positive man! I just love this. We need this in the modern world! Thank you Mr. Mathers!!!
Marvelous interview. I still watch reruns which makes me happy. The lovely 3rd wife looks gorgeous in her gorgeous wedding gown.
Glad you enjoyed it Zee.
Really loved seeing this interview. Jerry Mathers is a rare Hollywood star - an enduring career, a man of great integrity, and beautiful memories of his long acting life. Bravo.
I watch Beaver almost every day! Lifts me up when I'm feeling down:) Jerry was a talented child actor! My adult son got his autographed picture for my daughter and said he was a very nice guy!
What a lovely interview. I really enjoyed this. Craig Bennett did a great job with the questions and being so respectful. Jerry Mathers is a class act.
You are a hell of interviewer. You get the best out of everyone. Very entertaining. Thanks for sharing.
I love that he remained friends for life with Tony Dow.
Here in NYC, Leave It To Beaver is on M-F at 8am on the WE Network. During the pandemic when stress levels were very high,
I would have my breakfast watching the show and it really calmed me down. As a 68 year old (my husband is 72), it brought back memories of a simpler time; kids were respectful to parents and teachers and problems were resolved with compassion. I grew up in an urban environment; very different from Mayfield but my husband was a suburban kid, yet it was relatable.
Like so many, I was very sad to learn of Tony Dow's passing. He was a wonderful actor and of course, the ideal big brother.
Barbara and Hugh were insightful as parents and every show had a lesson and morality component.
Thank you so much and God bless you.
Thank you V - and glad the show helped you.
We always watch LITB every weekday morning from 8-9am on Me TV-the whole series from 1957-1963.
My wife and I watch it every morning on the same channel.
I grew up as a child in the 60's watching Leave it to Beaver it's probably my favorite television show of all times.
Wow he worked with Hitchcock that’s impressive … seems like a very smart guy - and appears to be a super nice person. Bravo to the Beave 👏👏🏅🏅
Leave it to Beaver was more real than the reality shows of today
Like a lot of kids who grew up in those days I genuinely felt like I knew the entire cast...In the 70s While in college I was on the school's radio and was fortunate enough to contact some of the cast members... I spoke with Hugh Beaumont he was incredibly generous with his time and I called him a few times and wished him happy Father's day...I still enjoy the reruns it feels like visiting old friends
Thank you for sharing Mark
The writing on Leave It To Beaver was brilliant & ahead of it’s time.
I was curious how he got along - or not - with Ken Osmond (Eddie).
Pleasant interview and a VERY nice interviewer. Didn't catch his name, but his friendliness was so genuine. That really added to the fun of the video.
Me and ‘The Beav’ are the same age. Imagine my surprise when my 1983 daughter said she loved that show. 🥰
Craig Bennett is the best journalist and interviewer! I always enjoy his conversations with celebrities. What a pro!
This was a really great interview with the Beaver he was a total icon and was more realistic a character than Dennis the Menace. I did not know much about his career outside of the sitcom, but I do recall him in some black and white movies. I was sadden to hear about the passing of Tony Dow (Wally Cleaver), I had developed a mad crush on him during watching the reruns in the 70s. It amazing to see that these guys grew up to not be the standard drama life once the show discontinued. It seem like Tony and Jerry are genuine nice guys. RIP Mr. Dow and thanks for the memories. And my heart felt prayers for those that are grieving their loss. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.
Jerry & Tony had an enduring friendship all these years later. Tony was a natural and the best playing Beaver’s older brother. They really cared about each other. This will always be my favorite show then & now. I watch it without getting tired. Funny how it never made it in the top 25 while on air, now a beloved classic. 1950’s the westerns ruled.
Jerry is typecast in the best way...he'll always be the Beaver, and still have success is many other endeavors.
I wasn’t alive back then but I miss that era when people had values, morality and class. Life just seemed so enjoyable and everyone seemed to be united.
Longtime fan of Leave It To Beaver. What an informative and all-round great interview. Thank you Jerry Mathers for so many years of great entertainment. You are a legend that's for sure.
Glad you enjoyed it
I still dig on the Beav and the interviewer is so thoughtful and gracious, really gave Jerry a chance to tell his story, wonderful. RIP Tony Dow.
I am very happy to see Jerry well and so happy. Thanks for this interview. Joe
He lost a lot of weight, and looks great
It still plays everyday at my house. The show never gets old
thank God you had wonderful parents that kept you out of the trouble that many child starts were in. God Bless you. I am 72 . We just may be the same age.
I celebrated my 70th birthday in January and I’ve been watching the Cleavers since it first aired. Beaver and I could have been pals, not like Judy😀. And I am still in love with Wally. Rest in Peace Tony Dow❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
He seems like a really great guy. Calm, real, down to earth, no anger for show actors, no child star horror stories. Great interview. ❤️
Best show ever. It's a shame that life is no longer like this. This and other shows like it were all prime time. Greatest era ever. My high school graduation was in 1973, 50 years ago. I grew up on this show, Hazel, and all the older sit-coms. Those were the good ol' days...we just didn't know it then. Great interview!
Great interview. My wife and I still watch leave it to Beaver every weekday morning on Me TV Here in Kansas City
Glad you enjoy it Heisrisin. Thank you for watching
In Daytona Beach.
I still watch Leave it to beaver every morning when I get home from work from 8 am to 9 am. Est on Me Tv. And btw I’m 57 yrs old. Thank you Jerry. Loved and miss Tony Dow also. From Mike in NJ. 👍👊💪
That was a wonderful interview. What an interesting life Jerry has lead.
This show was such a blessing. This show will live on for another hundred years.
This is such a brilliant interview. I had no idea Mr Mathers had done so much. Still love watching Leave It To Beaver. Thank you Craig Bennett for yet another excellent interview.
Glad you enjoyed it Jo. Thank you for your continued support. Kelley.
Mr. Bennett certainly knows his stuff, huh.. excellent interview, Sir.
I was born in 1970, and grew up on "Leave it to Beaver" reruns each weekday. This show, every one of it's elements and dynamics, was my dream in life. I dreamed of growing into adulthood and living out a life exactly like that of the "Cleaver" family. Life can be surreal, and I do feel like that last 21 years of my life truly exemplified the "Cleaver" family experience...but I still dream of living life out like the "Cleaver" family. I think I've just convinced myself to binge the entire original series.
What a great interview.
I still record this and father knows best lol such wholesome shows❤️
And Jim Anderson of Father Knows Best and the Beav's dad were both insurance agents .
@@axiomist4488 I thought ward was a lawyer
His wife is so sweet and down to earth. I still enjoy watching LITB.
This kid could act! A real natural.
Really great to see Jerry Mathers. He is such a great inspiration. Leave It To Beaver an undeniable TV classic. Does he have a book out, I wonder? His career and personal life seem fascinating. Thanks again for another excellent interview.
Thank you again for watching Ben. Jerry wrote a book in 1998 - And Jerry Mathers as the Beaver. It is available on Amazon.
@celebritydrop thanks for that info!
Great interview.Jerry is a wonderful person and was such a talented child actor on what I consider one of televisions greatest and most endearing shows. The entire cast were brilliant and are in their fans hearts forever!
He's describing my memories of childhood, and what a lovely time. 😍
These are great interviews. They all bring out the stories of these peoples' lives. I'm about Jerry's age and watched his show. Nice to know he has a good life. I didn't know Tony Dow passed. Very sad. RIP, and condolences to all who loved him
Thank you for watching @voyaristika5673 and glad you enjoyed our interview with Jerry.
I grew up watching Leave it to Beaver. I loved the show. I was born 1954 .
Great interview. Shows are still fun to watch after all this time.
I was raised in an area where we only got a few channels (snowy ones) and I was forced into watching many old vintage shows and movies...and I was always jealous at the other kids who had cool cable. Now only after all this time do I realize how fortunate I was to have watched all these old classic shows and movies. I now have an appreciation and knowledge of these classics.
Jerry mathers was a good actor
Jerry Mathers is one of Hollywood's nice guys. It`s so nice he has the companionship of a very nice wife.
I am still a fan of "Leave It To Beaver." Thank you Mr. Jerry Matters for "Leave It To Beaver" and of course this interview.
Jerry, like Micky Dolenz, REALLY cares about his fans.
The “Leave it to Beaver” TV series was not averse to tackling controversial topics of its day, such as bullying, underage drinking and smoking, reform schools, juvenile criminal gang activity, theft of private property, truancy, and divorce just to mention a few.
Excellent interview you did a great job
What a great interview!
This was such a positive interview...just like how wonderfully positive the show Leave it To Beaver was/is. Although it is sad that most of the cast has passed, this interview was very much a celebration of the show and the stars that portrayed such wonderful role models. Great interview...leaves one feeling happy for Jerry Mathers and his wife.
This was a wonderful interview! Jerry has been a part of my life for so many years... I met him in the 60's & he's always been so easy to approach & such a down to earth guy... thank you for the interview!
I still watch LITB ! Great show and characters.
This is recent, and I have got to say he looks better now than he did in parts of his adult life! I imagine because of changes to his lifestyle, since he was diagnosed with diabetes years ago. Thank you for this, I enjoyed it very much. I have subscribed since you were such a great interviewer. :-)
That was a great interview !! You did a great job with it. Thank you❤
Thank you for watching Jakes
I still love and watch Leave it to Beaver.
I watch it everyday
Jerry, you've never stepped out of character, you are still " the Beave" as Tony would call you. Thank you for staying true to yourself, your fans and the show, Leave it To Beaver! God Bless you.
What a great interview. From start to finish.
Thank you Mountain Man - glad you liked our chat with Jerry.
Leave it to Beaver is my comfort show. I watch it on peacock
We agree with you @peekaboo7424!
What a fun interview to watch. Thank you for asking interesting questions!
Glad you enjoyed it mkptran. Thank you for watching.
In 1957, I was 9 years old. I remember watching "Leave it to Beaver" at the time. Living in the SF bay area, life was slightly different than the way it was portrayed on the TV show. My dad worked in construction, & never wore a tie to work. My mother & other mothers where I lived, never wore a pearl necklace around the house. Their house while suburban, was more upscale then where I lived. In our house we didn't have a library. Beaver, Wally, & friends acted & dressed slightly different than we did. As a child close to Beavers age, I enjoyed watching "Leave it to Beaver".
We are watching it here in CA, on weekdays at 8 AM on ME TV. I love it.
I watch Beaver on MeTV weekday mornings ❤❤
It's great to see "the Beaver" looking/sounding so good. he and the show were a huge part of my childhood....i'm about a year younger. TV then really was mostly wholesome. I had a teacher make fun of it once asking whose mother dresses up and put on ear rings to greet her husband on his return from work i.e. the way June Cleaver did. Mine really did!
✨What a sweet couple! Thank you for this interview!! 🦋
Glad you enjoyed it Tiffany
The Beav was like my brother I never had ,I always got in similar trouble ,,everybody wished they had parents like the Cleavers ,,great to see him in good health & happy w/his lovely wife !
I sooooooo love Leave it to Beaver ! ... what a cute and brilliant actor.
I have the ENTIRE CD set! Love it! Brilliant interview! Thanks much!!
Glad you enjoyed it Bitchie!
Sorry - Butchie (autocorrect)
Great to see and hear you Jerry! Thanks!
Thanks for listening dana.
@Celebrity Drop I was born in 65' loved watching Leave It To Beaver growing up and still check out what the Beaver is up to. Take care
Are you in the pink shirt Craig Bennett? Simply perfect for this job and congratulations on hitting the right notes throughout. It's obvious you're a love like Jerry and Teresa!
I just finished watching the entire first season (on Tubi)
On to the second season 🥰
