If you are an unbased cringer like me you could make a cannon focus custom nation that will let you get bullshit overpowered cannons and the economy to sustain them

Well, that, plus the fact that infantry & cavalry genrrally have similar pips, plus that artillery costs way more ducats. Cycling expendable meat shields through is my ore efficient than letting cannons die. But you're right, with enough money and manpower, you can do whatever you want.
