This is Chopin's most popular Nocturne. I'm just showing you the notes. Try to play it like Artur Rubinstein. He was one of the greatest interpreters of Chopin:

@t3sture You are the first to ask. One of my favs. But even at half tempo it would be too fast for a tutorial (10 -minute limit). Means many parts, .... No promises. But will add to list.

Your tutorials are awesome... I learned and memorized the whole 1st movement of moonlight sonata and now thanks to your videos I can enjoy playing that beautiful 6 minute melody.... now hoping to get in to this one ASAP cause I love it :-). Thanks for your dedication on making these videos, they come in very handy my daily practice. Cheers from Uruguay!

I am an amateur too. Without pulling at the score and going through the video, I would assume the E is printed. But if The E is an ornamental note, there are "rules", but still left to player to decide.

@mike77721 anyone serious about playing classical piano must learn to read music. that is why I do not give the notes. if you haven't started to learn yet, i made 3 lessons on reading music.

It would be appropriate (for most) after 5 years of serious playing.

In order to keep the same count per measure, the little notes are played faster.

@McEuGene007 I watched your video, I think you did a good job. memorized too? wow.
It's fun to compare concert artists performances to note how they differ. Paying close attention to such nuances helps improve our own playing.

Do you have any fututre plans of making your videos and narrating what you are doing? I know it is easier for me to see what you are doing and also hear you say what notes you are hitting. It is really hard to tell which notes you are hitting by just watching the video. There are several people doing videos like this and it does take a couple of videos per song but in the end it is much easier to follow. Thank you for all that you are doing, your list of pieces is one of the best on youtube!

@TheComment01 it is possible with practice :) tackle only a few measures each week. do you read music? knowing where you are in the piece will help.

Thanks, even though I can't really see which keys your pushing, but its fine! Almost 4 mins in and I'm doin great! (but then I look at the next few notes and the loading bar and think "So much left! lol")

Thank you for this awesome tutorial. I'm just starting or should I say attempting, to learn this piece and I use this as a reference to check if I am hitting the right keys. Symbols like "turns" and "mordents" confuse me.

Hi, near the last part I see on the score there is a constant repetition of 16th like notes, except for the fact that they're much smaller, look like grace notes and most interpretations I hear seem to play them a lot faster. What timing am I theoretically suppose to play them in? Thanks! :)

Thanks for this tutorial. I wonder if you could tell me about the trill in measure 7. I assume 4 notes per each quarter note for the first two, and then 6 notes for the third one, for a total of 14 noted played? If I do not have the finger speed, can I cut it down somehow?

@bbdhrggl Hi, I'm really looking for anybody's opinion and please be honest! Okay, so I'm a beginner pianist (like, a couple months) I've only learned two songs: River flows in you (Yiruma) and Fur Elise (Beethoven). I am willing to practise for months until I get this Nocturne perfect. Do you think I will be able to not only learn but EXECUTE this beautiful piece, or should I stop this idea now? Any song suggestions? (Really only interested in classical pieces by really old people... :P )

@bbdhrggl I often try to add my own note, but sometimes an accident happens, usually when I record .
I notice the pieces intuitive to however, at Chopin there is not easy!! - compared with Yann Tiersen
