The Bombardier trains sounds just like the C20 in Stockholm aka my favourite metro train ever!

Looks better? Haha! The stations are crumbling and ugly (mainly because of the corrupt politicians that led the country for more than 25 years), except the newer ones. The metro in Warsaw looks better.

Looks better than Paris metro, ofc. Bucharest is worth visiting.
@@alexevo8016 Stii ca am fost la Roma si la Paris. La Roma, metroul arata si mai urat decat la Bucuresti, asa arata si la Paris, dar la Paris metrourile macar vin din minut in minut, dar sunt foarte vechi. Eu consider ca cele mai bune (si mai ingrijite) sisteme de metrou din Europa sunt Varsovia, Viena si München. Eu am fost in Polonia, la Varsovia cu niste colegi si am fost surprins de cat de curate si de ingrijite sunt metrourile de acolo. Eu consider ca metroul Bucurestean trebuie neaparat modernizat ca sa fim la nivelul polonezilor, nu te-ai uitat si tu la link-urile de mai sus? Si apropo, nu scriu pentru bani, scriu pentru binele tarii noastre.
Si la Roma chiar am vazut o statie deschisa in 2012 (Conca d'Oro) care arata chiar mai rau decat Statia Crangasi. Totusi imi mentin parerea in ceea ce priveste statiile. Ce mult mi-as dori ca bucurestean sa avem un metrou ca-n Varsovia.
Great Video! Coming from Southern California, this would be a dream over there! I love the Bucharest Metro...very efficient and economical way to get around this very special European City.
My only question is: when is the M5 Orange line going to be completed?!!! Why the hell has it taken so long? Wasn’t this line supposed to be open by the end of 2018? What’s the hold up?

According to some reports, the first section of the M5 line will open in March 2019 with the entire line set to open in December 2019. The works are mostly done. The main hold up consisted of legal battles. The company that won the contract claimed it incurred costs in excess of those it committed to in order to win the tender, and its claims were challenged in court.
@@roromil2441 Yes, there were two companies that were interested for the interlocking contract, Alstom and Siemens. Siemens's offer was disqualified during the technical evaluation and they have objected it at the tribunal (and later they appealed the tribunal's decision).
TL;DR Metrorex (the operator) signed the contract with Alstom this month after almost two years of legal fights between Metrorex and Siemens. They have 9 months to implement the interlocking system on line M5.
Have a look at www.metrorexm5.ro/stadiu.html it has the current info for each station and what stage construction is up to with pictures etc. I use Eroilor all the time and its dragging on...looks like nothing opening now until September or October and if this court ruling is not made in time, then nothing until 2020.
I live in Bucharest. The M5 line is divided into three stages, and the first one (the notorious Drumul Taberei) is the one you all hear "is close to finishing" and is merely a third of the final line. The 2nd stage will be finished (as us romanians say) in 2100 and the third in 2240.
Okay, so works started in 2012 on that first part and were supposed to end by 2015. They got delayed to 2018 and are progressively still being delayed. Metrorex director said that they should open it by december this year, but it might not be opened until 2020 because this is Romania
Works are being held back by corruption and money

Yes! Because this metros are made in cooperation with Bombardier Transportation!
The Turning Point They sound like the Toronto Rocket subways ... no wonder they are Bombardier models

very nice video. I like Bucharest very much and i visit it regurarly. Is the line 5 to Drumul Taberei ready ? is it in use ???
Unfortunately no it's not as of june 2019 , but they say that in december of this year it will be opened , at this moment the entire M5 is ready for use but there are still some legal fights regarding this line.
Let me coreect the guy above, the "entire" line is supposed to be Drumul Taberei-Pantelimon and was divided into three stages of work, the first one being this notorious Drumul Taberei part. And no, the stations in that part are ready, but there are still automatization works to be done. The rest of the line...not too soon

Yes!2:33 is a new train and 8:39 a very old train(40 years ago) but is very few!majority is formed by new trains
@@adrian1622 Not a new train, Bombardier trains, starting 2003 in exploatation.
The newest ones, are from CAF(Spain), since 2014.
So, train at 2:33, are in Bucharest sincer 2:33, not the newest!
Yes, the one at 2:33 are CAF trains, purchased in 2014. They excusicelu run on M2 (but sometimes you can see Bombardier trains there too)
And yes and 8:39 they are very old trains, namely Astra IVA, built netween 1978 and 1990-something. They only run on M4. Strangely enough, that particular shot is in a station from M3. I guess it was heading to a depot

As of right now, “the animal kingdom” does not have the same signalization system as the rest of the lines, meaning the older trains have to serve the line.
