What is the deeper significance behind the words "tend to?". What happens if the couple is not applied to each end of the beam, but to close to one end of it, so the center of mass is not between the points where the forces act?
Hi Niall, hmm.. interesting point but even if the two forces were closer and the centre of mass was not between them they would still cause a rotation, though the effect would be diminished as the perpendicular distance between them would be reduced. I had the thought experiment of a satellite with two thrusters of equal force acting on the satellite, at opposite ends they would cause a rotation and even when close together they would cause a rotation but just that the effect would be less.
Wow sir your lecture
is good 💯💯 for me and other students
Glad to hear that. Thx
Now I understand the struggle of being lefty
Yeap.. the struggle is real!
