Jim Sturgress is a very VERY good actor. I was blown away how much he gave Dexters performance from the book in the movie. WOW! And incredibly beautiful just how I imagined dex to be.

Wow. That scene with Dex and his mum is exactly like the book. The lines and everything. Exactly how I imagine it. And Jim and Patricia have amazing mother and son chemistry. I soooo can not wait for this film. It's going to be EPIC!

Hathaway was better in this movie than I've ever seen her, She should have won the Oscar. Too many people took issue with the accent and didn't pay attention to the performance -- or the excellent direction of Lorne.

I agree. I just finished the book and loved how many lines of dialogue were straight from it. I have read dozens of book/movie adaptation combos and it's always better when the author has a hand in the script/movie. "Holes" is another example of an excellent adaptation for the same reason.
