I wish I was in a place financially where I could support this project. I helped fund POPS (got the awesome DVD Box set from the last fundraiser!), but I'm currently between jobs so can't do much. I hope the people who've pledged to invest come through for you Jake, this project looks awesome, and I know you'll do a great job.
Hey, just a head's up that I finalized my investment just now, but I DID NOT get any kind of email saying it was available to finalize (checked and double-checked my email), and only found out because I followed you on UA-cam for updates. And then, when I visited the website, there was only a banner saying that the investment was available. In addition to that, on the website it says that I had until NOV 16 to finalize my investment, and that I would be notified at least 5 days before Nov 16 to finalize (it was displaying something like 136 days left). So, just FYI, I don't think most people have gotten an email about it.
@@JakeJarvi I don't know the entire process WeFunder follows, so some of this may not apply, but just some thoughts/ideas. 1) Given that it seems like they will only send out a 'mandatory' email 5 days before the closing date (which is currently at Nov 16, I believe, until you guys actually set one, which I know you guys can't yet), it might be worth reaching out to their support team and just asking if they can send out an email to everyone (never hurts to just ask). They might give you a standard reply of their policies, and how they can't do that for whatever reason, or maybe they'll push an email out. Who knows? But clearly anyone who didn't hit that 'add to watchlist' button are not getting any notifications at all. 2) This might seem a bit risky (or it might just be impossible), but if you can change the minimum funding requirement needed for the film, in order to set a closing date, then you can get that mandatory email sent out and possibly get at least $100k of the $130k pledged. For example, say you set the minimum funding to something like $40k, just so you can set that closing date and get that email sent out. Obviously, if that's not an option available to you, then that idea wouldn't work. 3) Last idea is to just make a video like this every single day for the next week. Some people are 'subscribed,' but they don't get 'all notifications,' so if you keep cranking out a new video, then the chances of more people seeing will increase. Although, important note that short videos, especially those under 2 minutes, often get ignored by the UA-cam notification system (not sure why), so they would have to be decent length (5 minutes or more). If I have any other ideas, I'll let you know, but since I have no idea what you can or can't do (or what you 'have already thought of' vs what you haven't), I'm not sure if any of these ideas are useful.

I got several emails from Wefunder that it was time to confirm my investment - on June 23, June 24, and June 26 (I suspect if I hadn't confirmed on June 26, I would've gotten more) - as well as your reminder on June 30, Jake. Yet I see a lot of comments about people not getting notified. I don't know if the emails are going to their spam. Anyhoo, I took this opportunity to double my investment in the hopes that it will help.
With over 20 WeFunder investments, this is what I’ve learned: 1)Many people think it’s a 1 time confirmation and have to be reminded they need to confirm a second time. 2)Investors must “Follow” or “Like” the campaign to get updates and notices. 3)Check SPAM folders! Many, many of my updates and notices end up in spam for some reason. 4)Some, just don’t pay their bills 😝 Some people get excited, then chicken out once they gotta start clicking and signing forms. I suggest you start sending out emails to these investors if you have access to their emails and use bold headlines to remind them to confirm their investments. They can also be reminded they can edit the amount, incase they have issues with their original amount. Maybe they can invest less because their situation has changed. Hope this helps someone.

However: Do you feel that online auditions actually add some value because you see how people seem on screen? Or does "being good live" always translate into good screen performances? The virtual auditions are good for a first round. Some people just aren’t the right fit for a character and you can tell pretty quickly in a virtual. But seeing how they do in person when the pressure is on is super important. Not to mention the human vibe that you can get from someone just being face to face.
Say you get close, and people wanted to invest more (that already invested or are new), when is latest point where it will show up in time to hit the goal so this gets the green light. I confirmed on 24th but got the notice money showed on 30th.

Which sounds like horrible organizing on wefundr’s end but I’m rushing over to confirm my investment now, I’m so glad I watched this update so I knew to check!! Today I was curious and I checked my email, there wasn't any email from wefunder (inbox or spam). The only results from searching were "payment received" and "we are processing your investment" (that both were send after I finalized the investment).
to be yet another data point: i got no emails from wefunder besides the account creation/"your wefunder cash transfer" when i reserved my investment, until i saw a post on twitter(?) and went in to confirm (and i check my spam pretty regularly.) it currently says i'm following the campaign but it's possible i wasn't before from just reserving the investment? either way seems inconsistent so i doubt anyone would mind if you just blanket social media trying to get the word out for the next week or two! but also just generally i've been catching up on updates the last day or so and am so psyched for you this looks like it's going to be so cool and good!
