Punishments can also take many forms, such as fines, social disapproval, or feelings of guilt or shame.

For example, businesses may use incentives such as bonuses or promotions to motivate employees to work harder and achieve better results. Similarly, governments may use incentives such as tax breaks or subsidies to encourage individuals and companies to engage in certain behaviors, such as investing in renewable energy or purchasing electric vehicles.
