I do love having infiltrate units just inside of 6 of the centre from deployment if they can be in cover, because it also prevents your opponents T1 Area Denial! If they charge through the wall to score it, then they’re exposed for your turn and you can clean up!
Great video, this kind of content is perfect for beginners as you explain why you put a unit in that location and explain what it could do after that. Would you ever do a similar video for an Awakened Dynasty list? AD and SS appear to be the top two detachments now with CC and HCL falling off, and naturally AD lacks moving DDAs through walls and doesn't tend to use the TSK castle as often (or as well), so would be interested to see how you (with lots of experience) handle deployment for those
Thanks for doing this! Man look at your subscriber count! it's increased x5 in like a week!! This vid is baller, and really clear, thank you for taking the time to produce! Do you see yourself making more videos like this in the future? In tandem with your battle reports you'd soon be the one stop Necron shop! ^_^
This is great advice! I’m around 15 games in. I was in the mindset of a reactionary deployment. I was setting units down based on what and where my opp was placing his units. This has shifted my thinking in understanding each units roles and how to deploy them more effectively. With that said is there a competitive list that can work without the SK? I don’t have one yet ha😅
How do you decide what to reserve please? Been playing for many years but this has always been something I've never really found a consistent approach to
A lot of factors go into it, but most is about thinking about what EXACTLY you want the unit to do when arriving on the table. I am going to do a whole video on this because there is a lot to think about
Nice work. I note you use GW terrain. I go to a lot of tournaments in the UK. Ive never seen this style in use. The events here tend to use WTC or UKTC terrain both of which arfe very different. It does not take away from your superb explanation but it does make deployment differernt.
Not really the idea is the same, you'll just have different lines of sight. On WTC you would be more exposed when u are pushing with non infantry units, that's all
Hello! Do you have any general tips on how to pilot a starshatter arsenal list? What units perform well in this detachments? I feel like running lots of big guns and playing this detachment like a stat check big guns army is a bit of a trap, and that a better playstyle is with more triarch stalkers and tomb blades to grab objectives and make full use of Assault. However another part of me really just wants to run 3 Doomsday arks and 3 Doomstalkers. Would love to hear your thoughts on this!
Hi! I may be the one who mixed it up, but in your batreps. You say double reanimation. What do you mean by that? The canoptek reanimator's plus reanimation or the stratagem? If the latter you do know, that you can use that stratagem only in your turn, don't you?
Hey hey! Appreciate you watching, I could of done a better job articulating but double reanimation in your turn. Once end of Command phase. Once end of your fight phase.
On the bright side, Storm Hostile can't be scored turn 1! Sabotage cant be scored unless you're a 32mm base or smaller in your own deployment on Map 1, unfortunately.
The deployment of imothek and the skorpekhs... they are in the ruin right? So massive fire line can be drawn trough mid obj? Can someone explain why it's not a problem or how am i wrong?
Great question! The deployment of imothek and skorpeks are deployed so the wall is blocking the LOS on the left side of the table. Did not place it perfectly right on the video. If your table doesnt have a long wall then they need to go behind the ruin template and then turn 1 stage behind the wall
I would put in a unit of Praetorians or look at the Ophidian Destroyers, these units have some strong play in this detachement with+1 to hit and wound potentially
I watch this as a Tyranid player, that is about to play his first tournament soon with a lot of big monsters that got to stay together, in order to support 40 Gants, and other than advancing and hope for the best turn one, i got no idea oh how to get all my shit towards the middle and cover. This cover set up, seems very anti Tyranid for deployment.
Really going to depend on if you go 1st or 2nd. Starshatter does not like infiltrators. If you can stage some infiltrators aggressively and go 1st it will cause problems and can tag a lot of stuff
Center is very hard to hold for any army, especially on GW format. Mainly wanting to just hold your natural expansion and bring down your opponents resources through out the game and win at the end
What are you talking about? I literally read this and watched to hear if bro smacked his tongue excessively but found the tongue smacking to be directly proportional to the amount of words spoken.

@@JohnSmith-bf1qy appreciate the support and feedback! Awakened dynasty deployment coming next week after a list breakdown this week!
Thanks.
But is it possible having the complete detailed list?
Working on it for next week

Speaking as a person with only 2 games under their belt, this is awesome :)

If you scroll to the end of this video there is a Starshatter list breakdown which goes over these exact questions, appreciate you watching!
4:40 you have to deploy your infiltrated units 9" away from the enemy deployment though.

Deploying like that in my local, you would probably not hold the centre objective much as you need SK to go there and stalkers on flanks.

I will certainly try this the way you have deployed. Thanks for the advice. You are right in that even SK may not hold centre really.
Please work on not smacking your tongue so much. It's distracting.
