It is nice to see that even in ultramodern Shenzhen, there are still traditional Buddhist temples being built. The Chinese may be moving forward at a lightning speed but they don't forget their rich history.
Nice video. Your karma with Buddhist temples is very good because you managed to visit them when they're quite quiet, as all Buddhist monasteries should be. Like everything else in Shenzhen this temple looks new & big. Buddhism has almost 2,000 years of history in China, it is tightly entwined in Chinese culture. The Buddha rejected the idea of a Creator God, thus Buddhism is atheist. Some academics regard Buddhism not as a religion but a philosophy. It differs from the "material atheist" in the belief that consciousness will continue after death, thus the idea of rebirth. Chinese culture is receptive to Buddhism because theism was never a big deal, unlike the middle-east and Europe. Buddhism did not find fertile soil westbound but stayed in the east. It's very telling how different the West/East cultures are. Love to see a drone shot of that pagoda on the hillside the next time you visit..

Acabo de leer tus créditos después de escribir lo anterior y me doy cuenta de que sí estuve en ese lugar en 2013 o 2014 cuando visité el Jardín Botánico que mencionas. Es un lugar fantástico de Shenzhen que los turistas extranjeros jamás visitan

Hola, está en Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden, en Luohu. Liantang station de la linea 2/8. Un lugar muy lindo para visitar.
