    Awesome video! :) I studied management at Warwick too and honestly, I thought first year was the hardest - it was the modules like Financial Accounting and Economics for Business that I just could not do! But in my final year when I got to pick 8 of my modules I absolutely loved it and did great!
    I also did a year out in industry between my 2nd and 3rd year and my personal tutor was so amazingly supportive during that time :P

      Thanks for your comment Rachel, it was such a relief to read because I feel exactly the same! I always dreaded Financial Accounting, and Economics for Business was by far my lowest exam mark. Also, I'll be doing a work placement next academic year as well, so I feel like I'm just following in your footsteps -haha.

      I actually managed to fail Economics for Business and the second year compulsory economics module and it stressed me out soooo much because it made me feel pretty useless but after I spoke to my personal tutor he was so amazingly encouraging and I just made sure I put more effort into my other modules and it barely affected my overall mark - I still graduated with a 2.1 (despite fully expecting for a 2.2) :)
      Also good luck with your placement! Hope you enjoy it! For me, it was the best thing I could have done because employers care way more about that than my grades :)

    Great Video Elizabeth!! You got me interested in my course again xDD I thought it was gonna be boring all way through Management but now I am expecting a lot from the second year :)) Thank you for the video!
    PS: I'm that creepy Asian fan girl from the Warwick Tech's talk

    Hey!
    It was great watching your video :)
    I wanted to ask about what would you have wanted to know/ learn before your first year? I have a break of 3-4 months till university starts, so just wanted to know how best can I prepare myself before coming to the university (considering it's the hardest out of all the three) ?

    • @Mambo5elizabethandolivia
      @Mambo5elizabethandolivia  7 років тому

      Thanks Devyangana! I recommend you spend your break experiencing as much as you can outside academia! Building up practical skills -cooking, cleaning, budgeting, staying healthy and balanced. This could save you a lot of time and stress, especially if it's the first time leaving home.
      In terms of the course material: most lecturers understand that everyone is at different levels, so they do try to approach topics with the assumption that some people have no prior knowledge. There's no pressure to study for anything beforehand.
      If you're joining Management, I suppose you could brush up on basic maths skills as QAM I and II are made a lot easier if you have a good understanding of maths. If you have done maths in high school though, that is more than enough. Otherwise -just stay up to date with current events and business news. Best of luck with everything! Try not to worry too much! :)

    Hi! I recently received an offer for international management at warwick and I was wondering if you could answer a quick question I have about the university
    Warwick is certainly one of my top choices however I've heard some people say that there isn't much student life in the sense that the university has a very individualistic culture and that there isn't much to do during the day/night. What's your opinion on this? Do you feel that you enjoy your free time in warwick?
    Thank you :)

    • @Mambo5elizabethandolivia
      @Mambo5elizabethandolivia  7 років тому

      Hi Valentina, congrats on your offer! I must admit other UK universities are known for having better social offerings than Warwick... However there are definitely places to go in the area. Leamington, Coventry and Birmingham are all pretty close by, and offer a range of clubs, bars, restaurants, shopping and entertainment. Also, we have the Student Union on campus and restaurants where you can go hang out. There are so many students at Warwick, I'm sure you can find like-minded people to hang out with and have a great social life.

    But as an Management student, you can still study/work that year abroad , with the same benefits as an International Business student? Or are there other differences?

    • @Mambo5elizabethandolivia
      @Mambo5elizabethandolivia  7 років тому +1

      Management students can still study/work abroad in 3rd year, but you don't get the same benefits as International Management students. They are given a list of Warwick's partner universities with the number of vacancies, and are required to choose 5. They are guaranteed a place in one of their choices. Management don't get this at all -if you want to go abroad you have to sort out all the applications and logistics yourself.

    • @bananagaming4994
      @bananagaming4994 7 років тому

      How hard would be to sort out all the applications and logistics by yourself ? I applied Management and I received a conditional offer ,but I was thinking about contacting the uni and asking them if they can change my course to International Management . Do you think they would accept it ? And if so , do you think I would directly receive an offer (to transfer my management offer to international management directly) or ill have to wait on my application results again? Thank you so much .

    • @Mambo5elizabethandolivia
      @Mambo5elizabethandolivia  7 років тому

      It's not too bad considering everyone is writing applications for summer and spring week internships as well in this period. It is quite challenging to write applications and do interviews during term time, but firms are usually quite understanding and you can definitely find the time to do it if you put in the effort. I'm not 100% sure about finding study abroad options as a Management student because I'm not pursuing that myself, but I imagine it's doable.
      Congrats on your offer! It should be quite easy to make that change, I've heard it is quite a common occurrence. Do get in touch with the undergraduate office at WBS. They can give you a lot more information :)

    Hi, thanks for sharing your experience
    I got accepted in Msc course at wbs. I am an international student and wanted to know what to what pack in terms of clothing. As what to people wear for lectures and in general. It would be really great if u cud advice me and clear the confusion.

    • @Mambo5elizabethandolivia
      @Mambo5elizabethandolivia  7 років тому +2

      Hi Shubhi! Congratulations! I recommend packing with English weather in mind -it's quite unpredictable. I would advise packing more cold weather clothes to come to Warwick, since the hottest months (July and August) are summer holiday here. A good warm coat is essential for the winter time!
      People dress casually for lectures and around campus. The university does host a number of networking events though, so I would recommend you have at least a couple of business casual outfits you could wear to these events, as well as interviews.

    This might be a strange question but I was wondering if business students wear more formal clothing compared to other students? Thank you :)

    • @Mambo5elizabethandolivia
      @Mambo5elizabethandolivia  7 років тому +3

      Haha, no not at all :) I remember one time last year a guy walked into a 9am financial accounting seminar late -and in his pyjamas. Although, there are some people who do wear business casual on day-to-day basis, so you can dress up if that's your style. There are no expectations.

    Hello, thanks for the video! I would like to ask if it is possible to take modules from computer science, or economics departments in my second and third year if I am interested in those areas? (I will be studying BSc Management)

    • @Mambo5elizabethandolivia
      @Mambo5elizabethandolivia  6 років тому

      Hi Alicia! Yes, it is possible to take modules in other departments. It's one of the best things about the business school at Warwick (in my opinion) because it allows students to study what they really want. Hope to see you in WBS soon!

    What fields do BSc Management grads go into usually? Hows the career support?

    • @Mambo5elizabethandolivia
      @Mambo5elizabethandolivia  7 років тому +2

      Statistically, most Management students go into finance and consulting. That said, as a Management student you get to choose from a whole host of subjects, even across other departments like law, maths and psychology if that's what you're into. So you're not forced into any particular industry, which is something I really appreciate about this course.
      The career support is great! You get loads of exposure to firms at conferences, talks and careers fairs all year round. And the careers team offer lots interview practice and CV and cover letter review sessions. Also there's a very active alumni network at WBS.

    • @Mambo5elizabethandolivia
      @Mambo5elizabethandolivia  7 років тому

      Hi Ankita! Best of luck with your exams, glad to hear you're considering Warwick. The social life is really whatever you make it. There are so many people at Warwick, so I'm sure you'd find people you click with and who want to do the same things as you. In answer to your second question: yes! There are student abroad options for Management students. The careers team at WBS is more than happy to help students get where they want to go.

    what 2nd year modules did you take in management? do you have any recommendations?

    • @Mambo5elizabethandolivia
      @Mambo5elizabethandolivia  7 років тому

      Hi Shruti, there are 3 core modules for 2nd year: Global Environment of Business; Global Integrative Project; and Governance, Politics and Corporate Accountability. There is also Economics of Strategy which is a compulsory module for either 2nd or 3rd year Management students, so I decided to take this year. My optional modules were: Acting Responsibly; Business Systems Development; Chinese; Digital Business and Workplace Technologies; and Enterprise Information Systems.
      I recommend first and foremost choosing your modules which sound most interesting to you. If Acting Responsibly, Business Systems Development or Chinese happen to be of interest to you, I would encourage you to take them because I really enjoyed them. I hope that helps!

    Is there any time for part-time job at first year on Bsc Management ? I have to earn money for my studies during terms and I’m a little bit afraid after watching your video...

    • @Mambo5elizabethandolivia
      @Mambo5elizabethandolivia  6 років тому

      Hi Weronika! Ohh I didn't mean to make you worry! There's definitely time for a part-time job if you need one. What this video doesn't show is that classes don't follow the same schedule everyday. So for example, some days you might just have a class in the morning and be done by 11am, or you might have a whole day without any classes!

    Hi, my name is Marge. I'm a French student who is actually studying in the US. I'm interested in studying at Warwick University next year. I applied for International Management. I wanted to know if it was to have your email address or something to communicate in private with you to help me make my university choice !
    By the way, I love your videos ! Keep doing them, they are very helpful !

    • @Mambo5elizabethandolivia
      @Mambo5elizabethandolivia  7 років тому

      Hi Marge! Thanks so much for your message! I'm so sorry for the delayed response. If you just send a private message to our UA-cam channel we will try our best to answer your questions. Mambo 5 doesn't have any other public social media accounts.
      In terms of advice for making your university choice all we can say is do research on a range of universities, and really reflect on what you think is most important to gain from university (social life, location, teaching, reputation of the university, employment prospects) and base your decision on your priority. Good luck!
