I was there that game, i remember it was his bobblehead night n he was hurt so didnt play, crowd went electric wen they called his name to pinch hit. New pitcher. FIRST PITCH. Grand slam. Magical.
I was working for the Dodgers and was at the game right at 3rd base box club as this happened. Completely agree that this was the loudest I’ve ever hear dodger stadium.
Brought my friend to this game who hadn’t been to a Dodger game since he was a kid cause he hates baseball. We sat in the all you can eat section so he ate six hot dogs, got a manny bobblehead and then watched this grand slam while the crowd went ballistic. He then threw up his hot dogs in the bathroom as we left... said it was the best baseball game he’d ever went to. He even started watching baseball for two weeks after that then stopped saying he then remembered that he hated baseball.... I love baseball! 😂
I remember this game. Didnt go but me and my dad were running errands that day. We listened to most of it in the car radio. We stopped at AmPm for hot dogs and drinks. Got home just in time to watch this inning. They had just called that pitcher up from the bullpen, 1 pitch to Manny and BOOM. Me and my bro were laughing idk why. They had to go back to commercial break after just one pitch to bring someone else from the bullpen.
Mannywood was the hpest thing that happened in the 2000s , too bad it was only a short period of time, the guy was a hitting maching especially in the playoffs
I was there ..All you can eat pavilion where there was this imitation Manny..anyways,, I never forget the minute he hit that..everyone stayed to see if he was going to stay in the game and the minute Juan Pierre came out everyone started leaving ..maybe 20% stayed to see the rest of the game
So surreal reading these comments I too was at the game I was 12 and I’ve never heard a place so loud to this day. Was one of the coolest sporting moments of my life
In hindsight, an intentional walk would have been the proper call. In Boston, they would walk him with the bases loaded constantly. Way too dangerous in almost any circumstances.
Why were they even pitching to Manny at this point? Manny was always dialed in - but never more than right after he left the Sox. I would have walked him. If I were Dusty Baker, I would have waved at Manny as he took first and a run came in. We'll get the next guy.
A grand slam by Manny, in to Mannywood, on Manny Ramirez Bobble Head Night. It's like a movie.
I was there with my dad. I remember it, the crowd was crazy, and even better it was his bobble head night
Hell yeah I was there too
SAME IT WAS LEGENDARY
And he hit it to the Mannywood corner
the homerun was right over his manny wood sign
Me too. Such an epic moment
I was there that game, i remember it was his bobblehead night n he was hurt so didnt play, crowd went electric wen they called his name to pinch hit. New pitcher. FIRST PITCH. Grand slam. Magical.
Best part of this was hearing Vin’s voice!!
Manny comes into my jimmy johns everyday. He always comes in with a smirk lmfao he's a really cool guy tho.
Really? Damn that’s cool asl
I was there and the whole crowd was chanting MANNY, MANNY, for a couple of minutes before he came up to ph. It felt like a world series game.
Kal El chills went down my body watching it on TV, i can't even imagine the feeling I would have if I was there
I was there too and I can verify, never heard the stadium that crazy before. Even Vin Scully said it was loudest he'd heard it since Gibby's HR.
Was there too, awesome experience
I think you mean pinch hit, not DH. Two completely different things. Sorry to be mr. correcting but I think the distinction is very important. X
I was 9 years old when this happened. I was sitting in reserve level. That was the loudest I’ve heard Dodger Stadium.
Francisco Chavez That was a crazy season and good times! I was 16 at the time. Still got his 2 bobble heads in my collection
I was working for the Dodgers and was at the game right at 3rd base box club as this happened. Completely agree that this was the loudest I’ve ever hear dodger stadium.
I was 7 and sitting reserve level on third base side and to this day I haven’t heard dodger stadium more louder than that
Brought my friend to this game who hadn’t been to a Dodger game since he was a kid cause he hates baseball. When manny rameriz was playing at dodger stadium it was like a movie a concert. They rocked the house down.
Manny being Manny.
Manny wood.
I remember being so sad seeing him playing for a team other than the red Sox but I remember seeing this and being so happy for him lol
Vin scully said this was the loudest dodger stadium has been since the Gibson 88 home run.
0:08 the Reds' manager was holding back a smile miserably.
Benjamin dusty baker still loves the dodgers lol
@@martyvoyzey na he was admiring Manny's greatness
I was there. The energy was electric. Absolutely awesome!
Manny is definitely one of the greatest in Red Sox history
I was at that game, and my uncle said “he’s about to hit a grand slam” when he finished saying that BOOM grand slam what a fucking moment!!!! #Amazing

Manny is third all time in career grand slams with 21.
And crazy enough.. Joe Torre didn’t even start him.. first pitch on a pinch hit, bobble head night type of GS
Manny and Vin scully grew up less then a half mile from each other in nyc. Different years obviously but still cool
I was there LF Reserve level stadium 🏟 doesn't even get that hyped in the playoffs anymore. Great memory Manny Manny!
damn almost 10 years ago i was there that night going crazy !!
One pitch grand slam. Dusty Baker looked stunned.
Ironically, this happened on Manny Ramirez Bobblehead Night At Dodger Stadium.
I was there with my grandma. Definitely a core memory for me 😭
Mannywood was the hpest thing that happened in the 2000s , too bad it was only a short period of time, the guy was a hitting maching especially in the playoffs
I’m so sad. Watching these throwbacks because we can’t be at dodger stadium this year. Makes me wanna cry, I’m not even gonna lie. So so bummed.
Still have the memory and still have the bobblehead
I was there ..All you can eat pavilion where there was this imitation Manny..anyways,, I never forget the minute he hit that..everyone stayed to see if he was going to stay in the game and the minute Juan Pierre came out everyone started leaving ..maybe 20% stayed to see the rest of the game
i had just turned 14. one of the most memorable nights of my life. i will never forget being there.
So surreal reading these comments I too was at the game I was 12 and I’ve never heard a place so loud to this day. Was one of the coolest sporting moments of my life
Even in his retirement stages
Got to watch this live on tv would have been cool to be there but it sure was cool getting to see it in tv

Just manny being manny!
the homerun was right over his manny wood sign
I can’t believe I went to this game
DJGILDAWG Same haha. At first I was like why isn’t he playing in the game then this happened😧

I was not there i received the curtain call bobblehead ,that game was a sellout a classic
Dude Dusty Baker shat himself poor Dusty XD
😮 remember he homered when I went to a game
We got freaking Jason Bay for him...……...
Tbf Manny wanted out and Bay was good for y’all, but damn if Manny didn’t kill it as a Dodger.
I was there with a New girl friend! Great memories 😢🤙🏼☺️
“Well that didn’t take long!”
Los Dodgers estaban en un tercer lugar antes de que Manny llegara a ese equipo

If you see the reactions on the crowd...no women reacted...when he hits the ball. 😂
Dodgers fans have been lucky with pinch hitters😂😂😂

Ricardo And Sofia Millan
Well he never cheated in Boston!
Keep hating
My nuts where on steroids on your chin
He doesn't need to say grand slam home run. A grand slam IS a home run. It goes without saying.
Why were they even pitching to Manny at this point?
