- A Story Of Times Gone By, Full Of Nostalgia. This Was One Of John's Most Popular Songs From The 90's. John Hogan First Came To Our Attention In The Mid To Late 80's During A Time When It Seemed There Was A New Singer On The Scene Every Day (And They All Tried To Be Daniel O'Donnell) But John Has A Unique Voice And Has Proved That He Has Staying Power Where Many Others From The Same Era Fell By The Wayside. John Got A Big Leap Forward In His Career When He Joined The Rirz Record Label, Who At The Time Had Some Of The Biggest Names In Irish Music, Daniel O'Donnell, Foster & Allen Just To Name Two.
This is a very beautiful song. John has a amazing voice. Irish music is my favorite
My old man passed away a year ago today, he loved this song ,sitting here thinking of him and the great times we had haymaking many years ago, love you, miss you DAD RIP XXX
I can still hear my mother singing this song in our kitchen every Saturday morning,it was always played on the green scene programme on the radio, lovley memories of my late dear mother.A beautiful song.
My old man's favourite song, passed away 1st of may, miss you so much
I am pushing 70 now and can identify with this superb song and video, brings back sweet memories of times long past and sunshine days with the old thresher machines drinking mugs of tea with farmhouse baked brown bread, sitting on a haystack, before combine harvesters were invented, a simple life but oh so happy one

Wow, what a great song and Video! A song that should resonate with us all. South Alabama, West Texas, the plains of Kansas and Nebraska, the California Central Valley, Murray-Darling, how many times for so many have we came home to realize that no one remains to greet us, and that the fields have turned brown.

Tears on the laptop again'this song fills me up..!!My fathers favourite song..He is over 70 and worked on threshers and came from a little cottage like that..Im 36yrs and even i have memmories of working on farms as a young boy and even now that has all changed..A way of life sold out by the Celtic tiger..how i wish we had simple times like that back..Thats what made us Irish..I am proud to be from the country..Most young people nowadays will never experiance working in the fields..How sad..!!
Surely one of Irelands best singers
Lovely. Evokes memories of other days!
