They look gorgeous and I think the glass pots give a nice "aquarium like" vibe to it!
We have lots of bulbs here and I've just realized how beautiful they can be indoors, if designed properly!

Thanks, as a chef, in school they taught us all the elements of entertaining. That includes of course food, music, color schemes- napkins etc, flowers, textures etc. The bulbs I used were are called "prechilled". If you just grab bulbs and plant theym they will not grow because they need to go through the dormant stage of sleeping through the winter.....aka "prechilling"
They have been kept in a between 40-48 F for weeks so they want to bloom when they are put into the dirt or force bloomer. You can buy "prechilled" bulbs all year long and have tulips etc inside or outside and then cut them and bring them inside. I put comments on where to buy some in the description.

These are absolutely beautiful! What a great idea, a plant is so much prettier than just some flowers in a vase. I can tell you are an awesome host to your guests!!

Thanks- my chefs taught me a long time ago everything as it relates to table design , environmental design, acoustics music beats per minute in music, growing food, to make people feel comfortable when they visit without making a fuss. I love force blooming- I do it all year but you have to get “ prechilled “ bulbs which means they have been kept at 38F- 42F for them to think they have gone through a winter- then when plant them they bloom. You can get any bulb “prechilled “on Amazon or do it yourself In you fridge.
Paper whites don’t need ore chilling they just plant and grow. I do tulips in Jan in pots and I love it! I love flowers all over the house everywhere.

    • @TheOtherSideOfTheStove

Hi Melissa- one thing I didn’t say is that if you want to force bloom they need to be “prechilled” the amaryllis I purchased are always “prechilled” meaning they are hardened and kept in 40F for 6-8 weeks. If you just get regular bulbs and don’t let them “harden” in the ground they won’t bloom well.
So if you like flowers like me- I order from Amazon “prechilled” then I plant hyacinths tulips and I have fresh flowers almost all year. Paper whites will bloom when ever you plant them. Love you! Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Homestead Aquarius- I’m always happy to see you here.- I learned a lot of growing things when we owned our 65 acre farm. How ever this planting thing is something my chefs in school were particular about when we cooked for them - they taught us to force bloom pre chilled bulbs for entertaining. Those chefs had high expectations when we had a practicum - and part of the cooking was table design music, visuals like flowers. It’s something that has stayed with me from my culinary school days.

When you get a bulb make sure they are “ prechilled” you can order them from Amazon. That means they have been kept between 33-40 to simulate winter. The amaryllis bulbs in Home Depot have already been “prechilled” paper whites don’t need to be ore chilled. And I used Miracle grow dirt and they pop really fast.

So it's just part of what I was trained in...most chef's don't care about making sure the environment looks good...They just are mostly concerned about the food but all of it plays into the expeprience.

I like having live flowers around me everywhere. The trick is to get "pre chilled" bulbs. The big amaryllis in the video that you get at lowes are "pre chilled" meaning they have been hardened by having been kept in a cooler for weeks. Now because of the way God made those little things they want to grow. If you just get a regular bulb from the store and you don't " harden them or pre chill them in a refrigerator " for like months. They won't bloom. Paperwhite will bloom when ever they don't need any "pre Chilling"

Alexis, I am hiring you to edit my videos! Super pretty! I can cook, but when it comes to keeping anything alive with the exception of my husband and my kids...epic fail! LOL! But wow, so beautiful! You do it all! What a guy! Happy Thanksgiving my friend!

Hi there, Prince Philip- i appreciate you take it your time to leave a comment about the forcing bulbs video.
I have fresh flowers all over my house when ever I can. They can be expensive to purchase however it’s less expensive to purchase the bulbs and force bloom them like I did here. The ones in the video were already pre chilled -(hyacinth) the paper whites don’t need pre chilling.
One tip I learned is that those bulbs in the video were already “ pre chilled” which means that they had already gone through a chilling period and are ready to grow.
If you want tulips you can buy them and put them in the fridge for three months then plant them. I love flowers.

@@TheOtherSideOfTheStove thanks for noticing me. I would love to have tulips but its not growing here in our country. Amaryllis bulb would do. But i don't know if i can afford to buy them just like what you mentioned that its quite expensive. 🥺
