They’ve been an official band for 6 years but some of them have been working together as far back as 10 years...and they’re only ages 22-26/7. Hella fucking talented. Also started from the bottom of the Kpop scene (a niche genre to begin with) and are now the biggest boy band on the planet and one of the biggest groups period in the states...and all of their music is predominantly Korean

thanks for reacting and having an open mind! bts definitely put a lot of passion and hard work into making their music and have been doing so with that energy since 2013, they're definitely a group that deserves the success they have now. as others have said, ed sheeran produced this track for them, but they themselves work on production and songwriting as well. i'm not sure which of you said it but you're right that they have a massive discography - really diverse too, they started more heavily hiphop and they have some tracks with just the rappers but their tastes are diverse so they've branched out since their early days and incorporated everything from rnb and neo-soul to pop and edm and even ballads or some rock influence into their stuff, so pretty much anyone could find a song they enjoy even if they're not a fan of the group. i'm sure you'll get a lot of recs for other reactions but if you enjoyed this and are curious about their music i really recommend exploring some of their b-sides as well. those tracks might not have cool mvs to react to, but it's still great music to check out on your own time :)

They were made fun of by other fandoms being called ugly & not fitting KPop Idol beauty standards (no plastic surgery). They weren't given dressing rooms at music shows, performances cut from programs. They really came from the bottom and just kept climbing, refusing to let KPop determine who they are as artists. They actually were more popular in the outside of Korea first. All their official mv's have subtitles via Closed captions. I hope you enjoy learning more about these amazing individuals.
