@@mike_service That works for colo, but you don't really need that in the vast majority of quests you're going to be running. Sometimes it helps in gb, but it may not if the other guild is active, (or even semi-active), and they bounce back after going into the guild regrouping area. They can just fill their uni and wipe you if they win round one of uni battles. You're probably not going to do that if you are the only one on your team uni'ing. Which is only helpful in the context of Unison attacks, making it completely useless outside PvP. IMO you're just better off unlocking your monster's potential for that defense and using other high-cost def gear with a good ability.
So what would you say are the procs I need to have as a Lancer for PvE and PvP, mostly pvp? I'm trying to build my gear based on procs since I keep getting one shot in PvP and I need colloseum medals for Xeno gear awakening but I am never really fit for it but I still try my best.
Hi, there. The things you'd equip would vary based off what you are doing. For PvE, if you're struggling, you also want to consider elemental advantages, (e.g. don't fight water with fire). For Colo, things with ward and resurrection become more helpful, (those defense gear pieces with opening skills). However, in general, I tend to prefer to carry nulls, gear that applies a blessing, (e.g. nyx gear), gear with guardian abilities, (e.g. moon rabbit ribbon hood, those that scale with certain types of gear pieces tend to be ideal), something that helps you regain cost, (e.g. stormy seas raiment, which I believe you can get from the end of the main questline now), a thing or two with a mirror effect, and something that reduces the damage you take. Basically, take a balance of things that would support your character as opposed to leaning too heavily on one gear type. (Unless you don't have much to choose from yet and are kind of stuck or need one thing more than another because of how you're being targeted). Hope that helps!
What cost gear should I aim for is the higher cost always better to get? Because I feel like with infusions and everything it is all so hard to max out especially as a f2p
Hi, Kamil. I usually aim to get everything around 34/35 cost min with as many infusions as I am able. With that being said, a lot of that higher-cost gear has higher stats than fully-infused gear of lower levels, (even when it has not been infused at all). However, if you have a fully-infused piece of gear, (or mainly infused), you can raise its skill level above five and its skill is more likely to go off, which is nice. So, I think it's best to replace the non-fully-infused 34/35s or whatever with their higher-end counterparts if the higher-end counterpart's stats are higher than the lower end since you're not getting that skill boost. If the lower-end stuff is fully infused and has the skill bonus, it may be worth simply keeping it instead of replacing it with its higher-cost counterpart. It will also help manage and push cost in other areas--since you're "saving" in one stat you can use those points elsewhere where you may need the cost more. Hope that makes sense and helps. ^^
Would you argue that it's worthwhile to farm the secondary equipment sets (i.e Ra, Thanatos, Vol&Rena, etc) from the ordeal medals after awakening the primary? Baring in mind that that after gear awakening the blessing skills on the main sets change from a percentage stat buff to elemental defense. I'm a soldier/mage main btw assuming the context helps answer the question.
It could be, especially if you don't have a lot of elemental gear. They're easy to farm and can be used to help you get through the tougher stages of the ToJ as well as tougher quests like mobius where having that elemental advantage really makes a difference in how well you do. Depending on what else you have, it may not make sense to equip it all the time, but it could help in those types of situations.
Now we need an offensive gear guide and best free to play gear(class specific) videos. Times like these I can’t go whale for soldier gear and waste money so I need to know what’s best especially since the wiki isn’t helping me.

Damage Down XXL is probably another good bet for soldiers since they're basically dps tanks. I'm a really big fan of art skills though, especially for gb. The god's blessing gear is good too, (but you'd have to take the nulls out of main slot to use it). Hope that tides you over and happy gaming!

Just finished a watch and you covered a good amount, but I believe you missed touching up on Concentration openers, which help you survive longer in Colo and at the start of GB when the first couple of seconds matter, given that upping the proc rate on the main slot gear is key, especially if a soldier lives in fear of getting killed by mages. Onto Damage Reduction constants: they're found in normal quests as a reward and stack with Damage downs, and openers that reduce damage, as well as the Xenogears that reduce unison Damage. Most useful if you are a player using piercer cuz that gives you more leeway to use these constants in favor of Reflection Reduction, which Archers may find useful if Reflects still come about in Guild battle.
