One of my favorite parts about the game was how adorable Isaac and his personas were when you started, but usually by the time you've gotten to mom, you were truly some kind of Lovecraftian monstrosity.

"Libre ne tu salve" could also refer to the fact that to leave the Cathedral, you have to face yourself, defeating Isaac. If you don't defeat Isaac, and leave by quiting the run, Isaac still dies. Either way, Isaac won't leave the Cathedral whole.
I had a dream with that song, it was the most amazing dream I ever had in my entire life.

My Latin's rusty, but "libero" is the first person form of "liberare", "to free", right? Therefore, "I free," and so literally, "I will not free you unhurt" - so in fluent English, I'm thinking it's more, "I will not let you pass unharmed". But again, my Latin classes were ten years ago :D
The opening of the track says "libero ne tu salvum", wich literally translates from Latin into "I shall not free you in good health", referring to the difficulty of completing the cathedral withoug taking damage. It could also signify the (insane) difficulty of Isaac escaping his sins by finishing every floor unharmed
i love how if you play this and sheol theme at the same time it sounds like one song, broken into halves by the game

They translate to "I will not leave you unharmed" in Latin.
At the start of the song you can hear the voice singing "Libero ne tu salve", wich is Latin and can be translated to "I shall not free you unharmed". Read this on the Binding of Isaac wiki. Just thought I'd let you guys know.

what I loved about this game was the layered metaphor, yes its following a style of cristian scripture but think of the meaning behind it, is this isaac going to heaven or is it him delving into the depths of his escapism to face the reality of whats happening/happened, IMO the basement through to the mom fight was his view of reality, the womb was him getting over the trauma, sheol was denial, cathedral was accepance and the chest was moving on
More risk then reward imho.
Only strenght she really got is the speed and the bird is quite okay as well.

I have debated for along time whether or not the theif is better or not. I love everlasting hymn but it is the weakest of the three. The Thief is fucking amazing but Lament of the angel has nostalgia so it wins.
I like this theme, Everlasting Hymn, and the Theif, so technically I like all three, but I can't decide which one I like better, perhaps a mashup of the three is possible, but that may be chaotic with the different notes and tones of each theme.

There is only 1 way to beat the whole game including the Chest without taking damage: Get mom's knife with polyphemus, sacred heart, and other buffs for fire rate, range and damage.

Or maybe, because Isaac was intended to be the sacrifice (Lamb), then Isaac is the Lamb referred to by the DLC's title. It'd explain the presence of so many new items.
@DavidLeeLewisM I think the developers designed the game to have ambiguous endings so that speculation could be used to make the story much like with limbo but less straight forward

One of the only benefits to learning Latin is the ability to translate random things. For example, the lyrics to this song. I may be wrong, especially since it's hard to hear the last word, but I think it goes, "Libero ne tu salve" Libero means to free, but in this case it's not the verb so it means freed, ne means will not or not, and tu means you, and salve means safe or unhurt. So put in the right order, if I'm not mistaken it means, you will not be freed unhurt, or you will not be freed saf

I got the expansion, and it is pretty much a game in a game, except that it is still the same game. So many new things I do not even.

In the First interpretation Issac is wreaking his vengeance.
In the second, a sort of plot-twist is established in which Maggy is the lamb Isaac wishes he could be. This drives him to accumulate power (as you progress through the game) and eventually rebel against his creator (kill mom) out of pride and self- righteousness like Lucifer did. Looking in the mirror represents Isaac realizing what he's become.
