Thank you so much! My husband just brought home the reproduction tape loom he's been working on for a month and I needed to know how to do the warping -- I've never understood the cross thing from written descriptions.
Just came across your video and found a bunch of nice tips. I love the use of wood clamps, paper clips, the kite stick, coffee stirring sticks and rubber bands. I am a big fan of all of those tricks too. And I love that you are making your own equipment. I do the same. Well done.
Nice video. Clear instructions. I am not familiar with "kite sticks" other than those flimsy balsa sticks on tissue kites. Is there a weaver's definition?
Catherine Latane - yes, it’s a stick that you use to wind your warp around. The weaver I learned this trick from uses canvas stretchers from th art supply store. The one I used here was cut out of pine from the home improvement store and sanded smooth. I’ve also used spare stick shuttles for this purpose.

Thank you so much for going over thread fibers and weights. You'd be surprised at how hard this information is to find for a beginner.
I just finished reading the Handwoven Tape book, and I needed to actually see the actions she described. This is an excellent video!
Just love the kite stick! So much easier than chaining the warp! Thanks!
