Corruption exists at the White House, imagine thinking deradicating it in Albania. The PM has many bad sides but he's a world away from what the opposion offers, a criminal, a traitor and the architect of corrupt Albania and the misery we're now. Despite the high profile corruption cases the PM has achieved many things: Moving almost all administration proceedings as online services has made life easier for many of us and reduced the cost and effort to gather documentation we need. Making of Electrical and Water distribution services and establish the culture of payment for everyone. During the opposition's leader times it couldn't be thought of due to medieval mindset of the population which suited the politicians class (former commies and crooks) very well. Current PM put an end to illegal building practices and legalizzed new buildings and formalized the real estate market. Current PM established simple adresses being functional. Trying to fix the mess the precedent PM made with the reform of land distribution. In education free books are provided for compulsory education. Parents don't have to pay for books. Infrastructure has been developed and with the help of USA and EU a special judiciary body was set up and is treating and exposing high profile corruption cases. It has achieved so far the exposure of many corrupt politicians among which the leaders of the opposition, dictators in disguise. The great support he got for the quake made it possible so many people got brand new homes, new schools and damaged buildings fixed. The work in Durrës, Tiranë and Thumanë has been unprecedented. Despite governing undisturbed freedom of speech hasn't been touched. Unlike his precedecesor who beated, robbed and killed whoever dared to criticize him, he's done this even to the current PM who was once member of the opposition party. Last, current PM is pro west while the opposition has been proved to be funded by Russia, the former PMs both committed treason and have family ties with Serbian agents. Not forgetting about his concessions to the Chinese. I made such parallelism with the previous one, so you can understand why the PM is still in power and why the USA and the EU favor him and most importantly why Albanians vote him in power in mass. Cause they're sending the opposition the message we don't want to be the black sheep of Europe anymore and we want a future as the European country that we are. As long the opposition doesn't get its shit together the PM will be reelected, despite the high profile corruption cases. Cause the alternative would be going back 30 years and we don't want that. And I forgot about the infrastructure investments that will hopefully make us a factor in the region, our airport already picking up the task.
Actually your leaders collaborate with turks and Sultans from central Asia than Europeans and the neighbors . They think that they can build bigger Albania without...Albanians probably. Although it is good remembering there are people who live like this in our countries and we should strive to help them through goverment measures. In the case of Albania I think what is really important is to show how far that country has come from the 1990s in just 3 decades. I visited that country back then and they have achieved an incredible amount of stuff in such a sort time. As an Albanian, your in delusion, and have too much pride to admit the entire countryside, and rural areas are complete crap, as well as the cities. It has been on a massive decline since communism took place to begin with. Party members did very well under communism, and when communism feel, most of Albanian women were main prostitutes throughout Europe, along with Moldavian women, for the same reason. The country has not improved, cosmetically it looks better, as a nation, but its a plucked chicken without any feathers. None of the new leaders have created any industry or job base. They have only allowed rich people from outside to build whats in their best interest, and profit for themselves. Its only the money of immigrants who fled elsewhere that has made most of the changes. Until corruption is gone, nothing positive will happen. I used to have high hopes for a better Albania, and whats left of it, should be chopped up and go to other countries at this point. Even the Israeli approach to Gaza would be mercy for some of these people, and i help them every year. Its sad to be watching this, and its painful. That one family that was too proud to come in for a second interview, didn't deserve the help it received. All that BS about the daughters is fluff. but do a good deed, and don't expect anything back is what i say.
This is very rare in Albania. Poverty exists but you'll rarely find an unkept house and poorly clothed folks. For the sole reason we love to keep up appearances. Whenever there are images like this is because social assistance doesn't work. Albanian poor might need help in fixing their house, need food, need a job training.
