Thanks for putting up this video! I'm planning to build simple box cameras and this gave me a good starting point. seeing the comments, I hope that the program has come farther than when the time this was made so I'll have no problem with adding extra parts.
olavl Give it a try. I stumbled upon the workbench by chance and it makes functional designs soooo much easier than doing it by hand. It also shows the power of open source tools!
I'm trying to follow your steps, but when transforming to body and creating the sketch, the options i get are different and i cant apply anything i do on sketch mode to the body, also, i cant find any way to aply arrays to holes and such that i can do on draft mode.
TheMrSoap Agree. It works nicely when starting off from the box. Combining other parts did not worked that well for me. I am not sure if the workbench is corrupted or if I overlooked some parameter.
@@WayofWood Where it struggled was when I made a box and then used the pocket tool to cut it short and then moved it before applying tabs. It moved the parts back to where they started after applying. Weird. Nice for basic stuff though
TheMrSoap It shows some weird behavior but if you look at the authors github page he seems to be able to build some fairly advanced models with the module...
I don't own a plasma table but I think that it should work for a plasma table as well. You could either export a DXF and use this for the plasma table CAM software or you could create G-Code directly from the FreeCAD Path workbench.
Nice and simple intro to the Workbench. Thank you for taking the time to put it together!
Welcome!
Excellent tutorial on this not-so-easy-to-understand-but-so-useful workbench.
Thank you!

Have a look at some of my other FreeCAD tutorials - they might be helpful to get you started.
That's lovely. I wasn't aware of this workbench. I will certainly try it out.

This is awesome. Thankyou so much.

Very promising tool but very buggy when doing anything more complicated than a box unfortunately. Thanks all the same for the effort!

does this work for plasma also?

How do I install the Addon?
Go to Tools - Addon Manager, select the Macro and Click Install
Is this project dead? The URL to your blog posted here gives a 404
Thanks a lot for the hint. The URL is fixed and should work.
nope export does not work, leads to error (export this shape is not supported by drawing module - whatever that means). Looks good in theory though
If you use the laser cutting workbench the export module creates 3d shapes and 2d drawings. Try hiding the 3d shapes and exporting the drawings.
