- A cold front is rolling through Nebraska and Matt is out to do some duck hunting ahead of it. He kayaks out to a spot and makes a stick blind. It isn't long before he's looking down the barrel of his new 28 gauge at some ducks. There were huge flocks most of the morning and it didn't take long to limit out. Duck hunting doesn't get much better.

I have two 12 ga. SBEIIs. One is a lefty for my son. Mine, which is the righty, gave me “click” trouble for YEARS! I got so frustrated with it I broke down and bought a Beretta A400 for goose hunting. Don’t get me wrong, the A400 is an amazing gun and never goes “click” but it doesn’t feel and point nearly as good as the Benelli. Anyway, I had the Benelli barrel forcing cone bored out, put an aftermarket main spring in it and now take the bolt down and clean thoroughly every time I shoot it a bit. Also I am very careful sitting it down on the recoil pad in blind so it doesn’t come out of battery…
No more “clicks”. Knock wood, but I’m thrilled because the Benelli is the best feeling gun I ever had! But no regrets on getting the A400 other than spending all that money 🤣

I'm in Wa state I had a huge flock of migration Teal land in my decoys yesterday. My first time getting 3 drakes off one volley.
Big cold front is coming in around Christmas it's gonna move alot of birds down.

I got into duck hunting this last year I live in South Louisiana . Trying to find some places to book hunts to. I plan on getting me a 28ga when I get home from offshore in a few weeks. Really enjoy your videos.

Still waiting on the greenwings to show up.. the teal are usually thick in the Central Valley right now but I’ve only been seeing small groups here and there.

Awesome hunt. We started getting those big flocks too but i wish it was like yours, no rain/wind lol. We only see birds during the rain/wind and the wind's gotta be blowing at least 20mph.

We have a good population winter here every year

I have to ask what kind of Kayak you use that hauls all your decoys. I’m looking into doing this kind of hunting next season, beats walking.
I use an Old Town Discovery 119 and BigWater 132. The 119 has a little more storage for decoys but the 132 is more stable and comfortable.

Might just be that I’m south Texas and we rarely see a mallard, but my favorite limit is 6 green wings. Best table fare no doubt.

That was pretty cool! I wonder how a layout blind would work in that area? It looks like you didn't have a problem though with your stick blind.
Thanks! The mud started thawing after the sun was up so a layout blind might be a little messy. Probably would work great other than that though.

Great video. Hope you break the Tristar 28ga out of retirement for a hunt. I have been looking at the Browning BPS 28ga shotgun. I use mine squirrel and crow hunting. Do u reloader for your 28ga? If u dont what do u do with your hulls?
