I forgot to fully answer the apparel inventory question. When I ordered my first batch, I based quantities off size distribution charts online. They show what sizes tend to be most popular in which countries. I based it off Canada & US charts since that makes up most of my orders. I have spreadsheets where I can input the total amount of an item (ex: 100) and it calculates how many of each size I should get (2 XS, 5 S, 10 M, etc.) I've had to tweak my numbers a bit, and every shop update has different people buying, so sometimes I'm still short on certain sizes & over on others.
When I was in high school I used to spend hours watching you fight your cricut, refill your canon pixma pro and press a billion buttons before a con 😭😭 Now I’m doing art full time while fighting my cricut and canon pixma pro. Haven’t jumped into buttons yet, but I’m really happy to be following in your footsteps! Next step is getting comfortable vlogging 🏃🏾♀️
I really love these longer videos where I can basically just listen. I work from home and watch UA-cam almost all day. Your videos give me a long break from looking for more content to consume. ❤
You should find a local boutique that will sell/ purchase the sassy Santa items. Seems like something I would see at my local places during the holidays.
@@BayleeJaeI’d love to see even more mystery packs available in your next update. We get the excitement of opening what feels like a present & you can work through more of your back stock. Win-win.
The VAT change in EU was that now we pay VAT on any package coming from outside the EU, before you could avoid paying if the value was under 22 euros. A business can register to charge VAT at checkout (so that we don't pay the hidden extra fees from the courier/postal service provider) and then they have to send it to the countries, you would need a special registration number etc.... Most businesses don't do this and we pay upon delivery.
Yeah it’s called iOSS (One Stop Shop) but I can see how it can be a hassle for smaller business to do this because they would have to work with a local EU tax intermediary to set this up. Also a lot of countries are now following a similar model so once you start let’s say in the EU, you might have to follow and register in other countries to keep the same customer experience. Most large businesses do it but yeah it sounds like a hassle for small business. If they sell on marketplaces like Etsy, they would use the registration/tax ID provided by the marketplace.
I just wanted to say the current hairstyle you have is really flattering and I think you look really slim lately. Whatever you're doing is like the cutest look for you since I've watched your vlogs.
Maybe you should do like a little Christmas shop revisit where you put older Christmas items back in the spotlight, like your Christmas bunny collection and make a sassy santa bundle ( bag, washi and stickers). Like a small present to us (we get kind of discount) and you, hopefully can sell some older items.
I saw this and was so excited! My husband and I have worked together multiple times throughout our marriage. I loved it! It’s been a pretty great life, grandbabies make it an exciting life.
Why are you so good at being helpful!!!! ❤ i appreciate this QnR so damn much. I can never find the right words to aak a question. The lists of questions were perfect and informative. Thank you and your followers for this QnR video. I stillcant wrap my brain around your work ethic. You are an amazing individual. Im always inspired to draw on your sketchbooks. Your sketch books always brightens my mood when i draw. ❤✏️📚
maybe like a black friday sale could help liquidate some of the overstocked items? just so it doesnt have the "clearance" tag and you could bundle them as a holiday bundle? idk. just a suggestion i thought of
I honestly make it a point to not vote on something if I know I am not gonna buy the product in the end, exactly because if businesses or artists put out these servys I am guessing they are trying to figure out what to stock, so it would mess it up. Sometimes I leave a comment instead making clear that I like a certain design or product but I am not gonna buy it (for whatever reason) because I just don't think it's fair to the person putting it up. Sad that many people do not think of something like that.
5:43 I laughed so hard at that 😂 I actually never thought about owning a business being beneficial to myself from finance planning standpoint. I don't mean the earning money part, but the part with the tax and how you convert your business into retirement etc. Thanks Baylee, is a very informative Q&A.
For EU shipments the vat thing is called ioss. I have no idea what's needed from a seller pov - it would be nice only because it would mean no extra charge at the border. But it's really a non issue since my phone number is on the label I basically get notified to pay and it goes through fast enough Also I got my b grade hoodie and really had to scrutinize to find the defect 😅
You mentioned that you were going to make large mouse pads for your desk do you have the designs planned yet and when do you think you’ll be releasing them
Hey I’m wondering if you looked into boarder services, i live in Canada and if a company doesn’t ship to Canada i ship it to my boarder service which is just over the border and they hold it for me till i can drive down there and get it, my boarder service charges me about 5-20 bucks to hold my item. Just a thought ❤
Do you have any estimate of how many the meeting prints you've sold in total? I've been watching old video's and it just seems to come back with force each time haha
I'm wondering, How did you decide on salaries for you and Christian ? is this based solely on your expenses and a percentage for extras and personnal savings or do you usually just break even and savings are in the business account ?
In 2019 I just picked a number that would allow me to pay the bills. Christian's has been too low though (he's been on a part-time salary), so I needed to give him the raise to help us out with our personal finances. Ideally I would give him another raise because he's still making less than he did at his office job, so we are making less than we did before. The rest stays in the business account to take advantage of the lower tax rate.
@@BayleeJae Some dtf will adhere to cardboard but I'm not 100% sure of the specifics on that. The other question I had is whether you'd considered having someone local who is perhaps a seamstress make you tote bag blanks?
I guess it depends, dropshipping has really taken over the site but if you are not known via social media or have a following, so a custom base already, it might still be one of the better ways to start out.
For the tote bags, would a possible solution be to cut off the zipper entirely and sell them as B-grade non-zipper bags? Would that end up being too much work?
Oh gosh, please sell the DTF transfers! I'd love to upcycle old bags or shirts with your designs instead of having to use a whole new shirt or something. Earth friendly options :)
maybe. I missed it, but ever thought about licensing your previous designs? you have a large proven catalog and figure it would help to offest the work load or mins for products
Hi baylee! I love your videos a lot!! So you know how you have profits left over after paying taxes right? So since you are the owner of the LLC you can have a percentage of those profits as your "dividends". Dividends are basically a percentage of the profit after tax paid to the owners of LLC as a reward of their initial investment. So you can take a percentage of profit as dividends whenever you want like after the business dissolves as your accountant told you. Usually the managers of the LLC decides when and how much dividends to give to owners but since you're managing the business you can decide that for yourself! I hope this helps

I wish I didn’t miss the pocket Ts of the babies, I was too slow with my check out 😢 It was a great design for a shirt! Thank you anyways!
With the way that the meeting still sells and this drop, clearly you just need to keep making kitty merch. ;)

I have seen you through so many hair styles and colors, and I think this red/brown really suits you!! its the same color of your eyes.
Thanks!
You should make mystery bags for old merch. I would buy a pack of things before I buy a single clearance item. 😎
I have done that! Once as a non-mystery bundle, and once as mystery bundles. I just did that with this last shop update.

I'm not close to the border. I do use a reshipping service for thread. It wouldn't be economical to do it for apparel, sadly.
God damn that would take me 6 years to make that much money. 😂 I hope you enjoyed your vacation.

I know you still have a lot of tote bags left, but I love those things. If you made more I would buy new designs.

14:40 @BayleeJae would you ever consider selling the broken totes with DTF transfers at a lower rate?
I'm wondering, How did you decide on salaries for you and Christian ? is this based solely on your expenses and a percentage for extras and personnal savings or do you usually just break even and savings are in the business account ?

Have you thought about using the rest of your DTF transfers to customize your boxes?
I don't think they would adhere to the boxes. I would rather sell them because they cost a decent amount, especially the big ones.
@@BayleeJae Some dtf will adhere to cardboard but I'm not 100% sure of the specifics on that. The other question I had is whether you'd considered having someone local who is perhaps a seamstress make you tote bag blanks?

It could work for the black ones. The two-tone totes would probably look messy.

Couldn’t you just change the colors on the floral cats for spring and summer?
I think the current design already works year-round. No need for a recolor.
