    I miss driving the Prevost, as I recently switched to a different company, who's fleet is mostly MCI's. But I can say I am so much happier with the company I am with now, and the fantastic owners, and how they treat their employees as an asset, not a liability. It's still the perfect part time retirement job. I love the new cup holder too! The whole new bus looks so exciting.

    From a passenger perspective, I love the camera in the windshield. I always sat in the front seat so I can see the view in front of me. All the rest of the seats only had a view of the seat in front of me. Come to think of it, that's what I loved about the old GMC PD4107 (aka, Buffalo bus) -- the first three rows had a view through the windshield.

      Never remember riding the Buffalo even though there were plenty in Baton Rouge when I was a kid riding Greyhound. My trips were westbound to east Texas and back mostly, and I later learned that for some reason Greyhound only had authority to run the Buffs on north-south routes. Never understood why Greyhound agreed to that restriction.

    Interesting question about the Australian market. Right hand drive is the obvious issue, but the one aspect that keeps our bodybuilding industry going is the width limit of 2.5m, rather than 2.55m.

    • @matthewb9824
      @matthewb9824 Рік тому

      I believe here in Australia we also have length limitations that are stricter than those in the US.

    The flashing red light on the dashboard is also in the Volvo prime movers (or tractor trailers as you call them in America). If you get too close to the vehicle in front, the radar senses this and the light starts flashing red onto the windscreen. I think it beeps as well. If you don’t react within a certain time, the brakes are automatically applied to avoid a collision.

    We have the big 6 European bus and motorcoach companies here in Australia - Volvo, MAN, Scania, Mercedes-Benz, Van Hool and Iveco. They have a lot of the market wrapped up here

    Thank you so much for bringing the new H3-45 design and features to light. Whatever happened to those bright side-facing lights mounted on the door and under the driver side window? Those were helpful in illuminating the curb and roadside objects during left and right turns! I hope the new powertrain is more reliable, especially with regard to aftertreatment dpf filters, regeneration and EGR. With Detroit-powered Prevosts slowly fading away, and seeing units remaining in service for more than two decades and 1.5 million miles, I hope these new H3-45's will last just as long and carry their passengers more reliably than before.

      @stephenlevan6676 Рік тому +1

      The rep from Prevost mentioned that at least one of those docking lights is now incorporated into the side portion of the headlight assembly.

    Another great video, James! I noticed the new H3-45 has solid partitions between the luggage bins. I'm wondering if that's the new standard, or if we can still get "framed" bins. I'm asking because some of our high school and college sports teams carry items (pole vaults, javelins) that are too long unless we place them diagonally through the framework, across two or three bins.

    Thank you for the video as a prevost driver the cup holder was always the most annoying part because of loosing an ac but to drive a prevost is to me always felt like driving my own car but just bigger than my actual car because it drives so smooth like a car,
    My biggest concern is why here in North America all the buses come with manual luggage doors compare to the European buses which have automatic doors and one big on each side compared to the North American buses which have a few on each side?

      A spiral staircase will not relieve the stress on their knees. A stair is a stair no matter which way it goes. It will still cause them pain.

    So lemme get this straight: the Volvo engine pretty much all operators deem is bulletproof and reliable... But the Volvo transmission isn't?

    • @thearsenalmisfit2414
      @thearsenalmisfit2414 Рік тому +1

      The Volvo engine is not bullet proof. I went 29 years only have to have a replacement bus twice because of breakdowns . Since we have been forced into using Volvo engines 5 years ago it has happened 4 times and I've lost count of the number of times I've had to have the mechanics check ESC warnings and other electronic problems. It got so bad that we threatened to stop buying Prevost all together if they didn't send technicians out to fix our problems. Our sister com p any had the same issues with their XL models with quite a few just shutting down on them on their industrial runs.

    When you change the look of a brand, where the look is NO LONGER UNIQUE to the brand and it begins to resemble other brands, that's where a brand loses identity! The front of a PORSCHE and a BMW are UNIQUE! NO ONE wants to buy a BMW that looks like a HYUNDAI! The engineers at PREVOST need to work HARDER to improve the fuel efficiency of the bus, BUT WITHOUT messing around with the IDENTITY of the brand!
    Totally disappointed with this new "MCI" look!

    Can you show a motorhome and entertainment conversion of thebnew prevost the converter gets bare bus likee a bare ford or. Chevy van and they put their own interior in but prevost make bus with slide-outs. I have a 1980 45 foot by 102 with no slide out. But milage is lower then 1980 motorcoach. But i am refited with series sixty detroit with thirteen speed gearbox with engine brake. The country coach is holding up well forty plus years old other then repacing refrigerator i still like propane stove with 22 inch oven i could put a 16 inch pizza in oven. I never used induction cook top i have 20 pound tank in one bays down below and apu for parked ac and heat. Can you get new prevost automated gearbox with no tourqe converter or stright manuel mine has deep low gear and reverse or backing or getting into camp site. This saves slipping the clutch

    These North American coaches will always look outdated compared to their European counterparts. 2 piece windshields, only one exit, no rear window, bathroom still on the passenger level.....this is what's wrong with Americans
