@@CHRIS-ym7wy when Ignis gets blinded, there was no way in hell I wouldn't stay by his side to help him. I had so much emotional attachment to EVERY character in this damn game. Loved it. Through and through.
This song and the movie already had a special place in my heart because I had the misfortune of losing seven friends before reaching 30 but the game took my emotions to another level of excitment & grief. This game held me down throughout the pandemic and it became one of my favorite FFs of all time.
What really made this game stand out is that it's like the first ff. A journey of 4 heros. No one else. It really gave it that feel that you could connect with them on a personal level.

Played this game back in 2016 on PS4 and finished the game with tears and joy. Man, what a wonderful game. Now in 2023 im playing it again on my PC, Windows Edition. Still hit me the same 😢 Thank you Square Enix for this game
it deserves to be shit on. it was a fetchquest trainwreck. with all the content and character of the game as DLC or movies you had to buy. the game itself is boring and trash.
I blame the DLCs. When the game was first release, why do we have to pay for missing holes on character developments. The game was rushed. Square Enix should have completed the game. The only DLC that was meant to be was Ardyn story.
A wonderful song and your edit captures the spirit of friendship/brotherhood amazingly well. Thank you so much for sharing this. And the the invasion matched with "If the sky that we look upon // Should tumble and fall" ... brilliant.
This game was so fucking beautifully put together. I was disappointed on how short it was. But my goodness it was soooooooooooo good. Can’t wait for FFXI.
I recently gave this game a try, and while FFXVI will for sure be a more rounded product, they absolutely gave their all to save this wreck of a game from development hell and make it sail in new sunshine. Meaning, this game is a miracle in its own right.
Now that FFXVI has been out for a month or so, do you feel the same? I've beaten it, watched my wife play through it and picked up things I hadn't seen while playing, and am now playing through in Final Fantasy mode... but I still think FFXV was a better game and better story, even without the movie and DLCs. Kinda the same way that I *love* FFVI and think it definitely deserves its place in the SNES or RPG halls of fame, but I've gotten into fights with friends that think it's underrated and FFIV is underrated... I'm glad FFIV got a re-release as The Complete Collection with the new dungeon, new items, and The After Years included.
@@ravenna-x-w I haven't played 16 yet, and probably won't for a while, but from what I've seen it looks remarkably unremarkable. It does make me appreciate 15 even a bit more ;) I'm also interested to see whatever Nomura has to say about Noctis/Yozora in KH4.
@ravenna-x-w I completely feel you here. I personally stopped my FF mode playthrough of XVI because I wasn't feeling it. To me XVI is absolutely the more "complete polished product". But it truly feels like just that. A product. Like a panel of board members looked at gaming trends and went "OK. Lets make a good game" but I can't for the life of me tell you if there's an invested message behind it. It's story, themes, characters are so painfully generic and hollow it felt like watching one of the many Game of Thrones copy cats. It's like it lacks the heart beating in XV. XV is riddled with flaws but you can FEEL the passion behind it. The story is fairly simple but it and its characters still ring so true. I stopped thinking about XVI pretty soon after I played it but XV and the boys still resonate in my heart rent free all these years later.
Tbis was the last FF my best friend Zack Wattenbarger aka Zakku played. He loved the FF series as a whole and Sephiroth is his Fav character of the entire series. I grew up playing Dynasty Warriors and he played Samurai Warriors, same with Metroid (me) and Mega Man (him), we both were each other rivals in yugioh. We both loved anime. We knew each other for about 9/10 years. He passed away 5 years ago tomorrow. 08/12/17. The first time a close family member passed away. He had seizures really bad. The last time he had one, is when he was on his way to the bathroom and his head hit the sink on the way down. You kinda wish it never ends so you could stay on the fun road trip with the guys, going on crazy adventures. After all was said and done, they were more than a king and his shields like Cid said, they were brothers who would give anything to protect each other such as Ignis sacrificing his sight, the thing he needs the most, to the Kings of Lucis to use the Ring of Lucis and keep Noctis safe.
I may not think it's the best Final Fantasy game in terms of gameplay. But I will whole heartedly stand by my claim of XV has one of the best stories in the entire franchise. It's not just a prince and his guard. It's those four kids learning to trust and depend on each other as friends and as brothers. Yeah; it has the action adventure save the world fantasy story, but the games underlying narrative is so much deeper and more compelling than the other games in the series and is captured near perfectly with the choice of song for the opening. Which is why to this day, I can easily recommend the story of XV to anybody looking for a fantastic experience.
