Hobi really broke the stereotypes about him and his group like there is no kpop in this performance and as you said army from all ages in the crowd just fire so proud of him
Hobi put on an excellent show. He said he practiced for 6 hours a day. A top class professional. So proud of him. Yes Sienna in pink is a choreographer in The Lab, she worked on their ON kinetic MV and the crew worked on BTS US concerts. Loved listening to your thoughts on the show.
It's Jimin who came to support Hobi. They are really close. Hobi had gotten so dark and worried and didn't really eat but when Jimin came he ate a lot, laughed immediately and he also said that Jimin is his light. jhope introduced us to his alter ego Jay that night. and boy did it make an impression🔥🔥. this allows him to explore and expose other sides of his personality. but strangely enough even though it felt new to see it, it also felt like him. it felt authentic because the aggressive facial expressions, the improvised body movements, the dripping swag, the relentless energy, the esthetics, it's always been there, both on and off stage. we just got an unfiltered bigger dose of it at lolla. about the cussing, they do it in korean too, it's just always edited out or bleeped out on their tv shows.

He truly was incredible!! He made the live version of these songs better than the studio version, a real artist. people have always accused bts of selling out. literally from day one and this trend will continue til the end of time. when they became kpop idols, when they wear make up, when they do anything "unmasculine", when they dropped permission to dance, when they sing in english. basically whenever they do something that doesn't fit the criteria for what someone deems as a worthy artist. personally i have NEVER seen them as sellouts because they've always been honest about their rationale for doing something. in fact army allows them the freedom to experiment and explore and completely change things up because we know we're here for THEIR artistic and personal journey. a freedom that's not afforded to a lot of known artists actually. staying true to yourself doesn't mean staying EXACTLY the same, in fact it means the opposite because as humans we're very complex and sometimes even contradicting.

you are right about the girl with blonde hair, idk if she was the choreographer in this concert BUT she was the choreographer of ON (kinetic manifesto) and she has worked with bts in multiple ocassions. her name is sienna lalau and we love her!
Monq.. you're making me emotional when you speak abt hip hop and that assumption of underground hip hop = real hip hip unlike mainstream misconception. I'm so happy you never get tired of educating anyone who wanna hear it abt this and it makes me especially happy for Bangtan, cause they don't claim to be anything yet they're more coherent and true to their essence since the get-go though they were just kids, let's be real, than most self-proclaimed hip hop artists of their generation.. and a bit older too!
Mad respect for your reaction and commentary on Jhope's performance. When I first saw his performance I was wait 😳, what did I just see? It was amazing. In fact, the morning after I had to ask myself was it as good as I thought. I didn't want my biases to be a factor, but rewatching it (several times) it was AMAZING!!!🔥 Also, when I'm reacting to his and the other members' performances it seems very personal. But, when I hear you and read the comments, I know it's not my imagination. This is real. This is authentic. Finally, it makes a big difference when the person reacting knows his stuff about music. The references you made reveal just how tied BTS are to the musical roots that has and continues to be one of their inspiration for their artistry. The level of respect they have for these artists has to be acknowledged. Im glad you did. 🤘
OK sooooo incredible right? I watched all your reactions, I was really excited to see you reacted to it because I was really eager to see your reactions to his delivery and performance - because we know we've heard the recordings, we've seen music videos, we've seen a BTS style performance - I haven't seen any of his live performances from Hope World, so maybe some other people already know how he is when he's performing like this live, but WOWWWW. Hearing his flow and delivery live was just another level - the way he gave his whole heart and emotion into it all was just really incredible. What If was a great example of that rawness reallyreally. But I do like that we got to see such a range from him as well - what a great concept for the concert to have that darker first half and lighter second half - but omg he really set himself up to be dancing at the end of the concert like that? I know he was tired but he was still so bright. His energy alone on stage is so amazing - like he can realllllly carry a full stage by himself. He brought out the dancers to have some fun, sure, but he clearly had the power to carry that concert solo and he was just absolutely captivating with his energy. I'm so happy for him. I can't imagine trying to be someone else performing hahaha Thanks for sharing your thoughts it added so much richness for me
You are absolutely right he could have done that whole concert raw no preservatives. The added stuff, I agree, was for fun but he didn't need that. The fans would have taken that concert just the way it was. Just Hope
I really appreciate your lecture about underground vs mainstream hip hop. It's something I've always felt but couldn't put to words when it comes to topics like what people consider "real" or "authentic" art, especially the idea that real art can only happen in the underground or that real art can only be enjoyed by certain people in small circles like the underground. I think it's a really juvenile way of thinking to paint mainstream success as something that is black and white when, like all things in life, it's varying shades of gray. And I agree with you that most artists in the underground don't want to stay there. The whole point of putting your art out there is to get people's attention, gain fans, spread your message far and wide. Otherwise, these artists would only be showing their art to close family and friends, not putting it in public or performing in shows, etc.
Exactly I've been there and trust me most of not so the artist wasn't a greater audience, but they are underground because they don't want to sacrifice their craft for it so they wait until the opportunity comes to finally be able to do it without such a sacrifice as selling out.
BTS and Big Hit Production Directors are genius/master storytellers!!!!!! We start off with the opening of Pandora Box with all the angist and darkness that came from that, but we must remember in the bottom of the box was HOPE!!!!!!! They took us through that journey!!!!!! Then they gave us the second half which is filled with hope all the hope and joy that Pandora felt when she was touched by hope!!!!!!! This was Hobi's story, as he said at the beginning, and he told it masterfully!!!!!!!!! Your insight and knowledge of Hip Hop is invaluable!!!! Never stop talking, knowledge is power and the more we know the more we grow!!!!!!
It was Hobi’s vision and Bighit help him to realise it .. if you watch al l the sketch of his MV, .. it’s him who gave the artistic vision and he check every shots to be sure he’s going there .if you said BTS and Bighit before naming him it’s like he was just an execution when he was the creative and storyteller behind hit but Bighit helped him to développer it, but Kudos to everyone involved from sound and graphics designers, live band that was amazing and the dancers ….
@@JCfamily6741 oh no!!!! When I said BTS I meant each individual member being creative and having their vision for how they see their music coming to life. I was simplifying it instead I should have been more specific towards Hobi. I have the utmost respect for his vision and the fortitude he showed to see it though.
Loved your reaction, thank you! I had to press subscribe when you rewinded "What if...” and shaked your mic…. J-hope is absolutely amazing, can watch him perform for hours…it never gets boring 🤟
It's Hoe-bee . This is how you get from J-Hope to Hobi(e). Koreans say the what we think is the letter 'p' more like a 'b' so it sounds more like they say J-Hobe . The ending -ie is placed on the end of names when addressing close friends/family. Hmmm... I think similar to how Bob becomes Bobby or Sue to Susie. It is a diminutive ending. It shows affection. So you might hear the members say Taehyungie and Namjoonie and so you get JHope --> Hobe --> Hobe-ie --> Hobie --> Hobi
New Army incoming!!!!!! He gives a shout-out during chicken noodle soup... Man I'm almost 60 and I've grown up with some of the most true real hip hop and music that ever was😎 ohh Monq that Arsenio Hall show line took me Waaay back lol
You were right about the choreographer too. Sienna and The Lab have worked with them all before and she choreographed their ON: Kinetic manifesto me too.
I loved his performance!!!! I'm so proud of him and I can understand him being nervous. He's the first one and want to do well because it sets the tone for the rest of BTS. Not sure if they will accept him and like his music. Remember there is racist and non acceptance for foreign artists. Army is strong!!! They come from all over. Jimin being there help him to calm his nervousness. Remember they have each other to calm each other before their performance. Pep talk as you will. Seven people for fans to watch and not just focused on one. Now he was totally solo. No one but him to focus on. So that was different for him. Safety Zone is my favorite. I'm not sure if I can put it into word but hearing it made me love everything about it. The slow tempo and the R&B vocals put it over the top. Listening to it makes me feel relaxed like a sunny day with blue skies and puffy white clouds. Like a beautiful peaceful scene at the park. Calm like the sunset and the full moon in a star lit sky. Just a relaxing peaceful feeling. I listen to it on Beat headphones and I just fell in love with this song. "TELL ME IF YOU KNOW, WHERE'S MY SAFE ZONE"💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
omg Monq lol all those locals praising and speaking abt the ARMY bombs only they were calling them 'glowing orbs' loooooooooooll I mean the ones I saw! I'm sure others called them a different name
that being said they only saw them as 'white' or red (some ARMYs covered them in red to fit the Arson concept) imagine if they saw them changing colors? they're so pretty!
I have so much respect for your knowledge and background and I feel that your reaction speaks for itself so this is about what you said about commentors apologizing for their english... I think it's because several of us have experienced being misunderstood because of suddle nuances in the use of words, phrases or punctuation. It's like a "linguistic disclaimer." By saying sorry in advance, that it's not intentional, one can avoid some pretty nasty situations. Personally I've found that emojis often help to clarify the meaning or intention of a sentence and they've helped me a lot in getting the point across. But yeah, I think that's why people apologize... Keep up the good vibes 💜
I think that you are a genuine person who truly enjoys music and knows how to appreciate and enjoy the passion and value of the artist. I appreciate you.😀
that steam thingy! the steam machine getting in the way of What if ahhhhh! I wanted to kick something on Sunday lol now it makes me laugh but on Sunday it made me feel so bad for Hobi!
If you watch Jhope in the early years, you got glimpses of what we are watching now. Its like he had to tone it down while in BTS. In one of the RUN BTS episode, he was telling the other guys that when he's performing he sunshine, joy and inspiration. When he goes home, he worries his parents because he goes to a dark place because it takes alot to put out that much lightness all the time. I'm glad he does this because people like this have a hard time being on all time.
I've been waiting for part 4. We share the same sentiment. This is nothing like any other group or musicians. They are true artists and what I admire about them is they still work on improving their craft and you can see it. Thanks again and we appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experiences. Boarahe 💜💜💜
@@ashton1356 I said "no" with my whole chest before he could finish his sentence. Then he said "really? Not even going to bargain?" And I told him he had me f*cked up if he thought I'd get rid of my ARMY bomb. He just looked at me and said "respect" and we went out separate ways hahaha
Bruh thank you for breaking it down and sharing you’re knowledge about hip hop thing it’s very helpful and very informative for me since I’m a new Army I appreciate you’re time I really do
I was at the thing, saw it live and you bet im watching the whole performance they uploaded everyday for a month lmao. I was about to rewind it myself but you did it for me lol
Been waiting to see your reaction to What If since I first heard it, may not be your first reaction to it hut the awe and appreciation and excitement is so genuine ❤️ 💖 💜
Weird but true about f-bombs. When he drops them, they sound off, but, in a cute way, they are just right. No one expects me to drop f-bombs if you look at me, but if you knew me intimately, I am the one person you expect to drop f-bombs. Lol.
For me, the whole premise of this second chapter was to allow BTS member's individuality to come through in a way where the Idol platform no longer defined who they were as artists. In 2013 as a hip hop group Big Hit almost by default had to engage the Idol platform if the BTS project was to have a realistic chance of surviving. And that teetered on failing as the Idol platform is much more suited for groups like EXO or Shinee than a group performing Cyphers and songs which do not always conform to industry standards. Frankly I have always heard that BTS members are typical males. They swear just not on camera. What I saw at Lollapalooza was one member being a contemporary global artist. That he was able to express including F bombs put a smile on my face. My fist was in the air screaming yes. HYBE had to be a big part of the production and Bang P D was in the house. Despite many who seem determined to bad mouth this or that about HYBE, the company was walking in tandem with J Hope the artist. The swearing actually gives me quite a bit of optimism that this second chapter may be the best if their military service does not get in the way. At any rate, J Hope set the bar awfully high for his fellow members. How much Koreans get it I do not know as the South Korean charts tend to lean toward ballads, but world charts love hip hop. I think he is getting noticed.
Hi friend. I finally managed to watch part 1 to 4. Wooo you broke it down so well. Shows how jhope new music and old is more in the 80s 90s style he is so confident on stage and orgonised. His english is so good. Im so proud of him.You explained it so well. Loved to have been there too. An incredible live performance ❤🧡💛
I get what you mean by your perception of j-hope clashing with the idea of him swearing. They're all still people, though, and young men in an intense, stressful industry. Of course they cuss. 😂 I'm more surprised that they're able to keep it clean on camera 99% of the time. And never mind the cussing. Being able to detach yourself from your feelings to put on a professional face... I've been working for years and I still fly off the handle sometimes. 😂
speaking of which... ofc in SK they were making fun and trying to drag Hobi and Bangtan cause of their 'lack of support' judging it simply (wait for it...) cause of the amount of time JITB songs stayed in Mel0n... Istg I'm not kidding! that's why we feel Bangtan only has us. To the underground, they're too mainstream, to kpop fans they'¡re too western, to western ppl they're too kpop..... They don't get Bangtan, they just wanna make music they enjoy inspired by the music they were inspired by when they were younger, it's as simple as that. Hobi said it clearly, charts were never part of the equation! I wish it was simpler to stop projecting arghhhh
Hey you got a new subscriber because you listened to WHat If twice 😂. Really appreciated learning new info about hip hop and the musicians that jhope is referencing and is influenced by. Thanks looking forward to more of your content .
You are right about BTS having a Lot ahead of them. We just saw Jhope making history in Lollapalooza but there are 6 others to go. Did you know BTS will be singing the World Cup song this year. They will also perform in Qatar at November. They are also having Concert in Busan representing South Korea for World expo bid ambassadors. Lot of things to watch out for.

I swear J hope needs a award for this concert for and record breaking everything and I’m hoping Lila next year when you go and ask everybody I hope you ask everybody it’s actually was a shame there was only two Asian groups for this year since Sunday out there was a whole bunch of other groups that actually also had comebacks around this time and I could’ve also performed and bought merchandise which probably would also help with the stress because I heard there was a lot of merchandise that was getting purchased by Buy the box load and it would help with the stress after even if they cannot of gotten their favorite artist they could’ve at least had a chance to purchase another group or idols merchandise so they just didn’t leave empty-handed and make sure next year I’m sure if you can afford these tickets just warn your customers on the pleasers site that merchandise is gonna be between certain parameters and make sure that people can you know bring enough you know just you know when they bought her tickets just recommend you now having you know just putting on maybe a debit card or credit card or something to reserve a couple hundred dollars or something. So people don’t get sticker shock and also it also helps do you know with them too for quantities
Thanks Monq for bringing this video to us, along with your always great commentary. I was wondering why Hobi was wearing gloves. Is that a fashion thing, or is there a supreme meaning for the gloves? If Hobi is showing us a new and different side of himself, I can't wait until the other 6 do their thing!
FYI J hope does much of the choreography for BTS. For example he did many of those awesome moves for Ego in another live performance. P'haps she helped source the dancers as they are a joy to watch. Always wowed by my boy's gritty, soulful vocals and rhthmic style and his dance moves are over the top!! Of course Jesus Christ, the sustainer of all life is my true hope. I don't idolise ppl. However, I respect and enjoy J Hope's stand out talent, that contagious smile and his positivity. So happy for him to shock the world with his talent. Lord bless u mate. Stay sweet x

They al ccurse in their music. Check out their lyrics ESP Yoongi but yeah a lot of the rap line songs arrer rated E. Korea wouldnt allow them to perform RunBTS and another song on telly because rated E
Out of BTS JHOPE isn't that appreciated as a rapper. Many see just that he wasn't in the underground and because of that underristimate him. He is my fave rapper. Hobi has the Hip Hop in him already because of his dance background..So yeah I am happy people are appreciating him more these days :D

Monq.. you're making me emotional when you speak abt hip hop and that assumption of underground hip hop = real hip hip unlike mainstream misconception.
I didn't want my biases to be a factor, but rewatching it (several times) it was AMAZING!!!🔥
Also, when I'm reacting to his and the other members' performances it seems very personal.
I did too so don’t worry if you saw it 7 times to
OK sooooo incredible right?
Just Hope
Yes she is the choreographer she also helped BTS with "on" her name is Sienna she is 21 years old .very talanted and cute😍
Love your comment about the real, true hiphop. And also the artist doesn't need to be categorized in just one genre. Do your music whatever it is.
Exactly I've been there and trust me most of not so the artist wasn't a greater audience, but they are underground because they don't want to sacrifice their craft for it so they wait until the opportunity comes to finally be able to do it without such a sacrifice as selling out.
lol i knew if anyone would appreciate the ODB shout out, it'd be on this channel.
Maaaaaaaan I could not contain it lol
25:00
That's exactly how it was😂
Some of the non fans in the crowd were asking army where can they get those glowing orbs... 😂
33:40 You were preaching and I was being blessed!
Thank you so much my friend 🙏🙏🙏🙏😁😁😁
@@MONQTV always
Loved your reaction, thank you! I had to press subscribe when you rewinded "What if...” and shaked your mic…. J-hope is absolutely amazing, can watch him perform for hours…it never gets boring 🤟
Welcome to the Temple and thank you😁👍🙏
What great start of my Day with your reaction 🙃 i AM so proud off Hobi, he really pulled it off 🤯💜
He really made History
It's Hoe-bee . This is how you get from J-Hope to Hobi(e). Koreans say the what we think is the letter 'p' more like a 'b' so it sounds more like they say J-Hobe . The ending -ie is placed on the end of names when addressing close friends/family. Hmmm... I think similar to how Bob becomes Bobby or Sue to Susie. It is a diminutive ending. It shows affection. So you might hear the members say Taehyungie and Namjoonie and so you get JHope --> Hobe --> Hobe-ie --> Hobie --> Hobi
Ohhhhhh Yes Thank you I just learned something new. It's interesting about the name addition bob to Bobby.
New Army incoming!!!!!! He gives a shout-out during chicken noodle soup... Man I'm almost 60 and I've grown up with some of the most true real hip hop and music that ever was😎 ohh Monq that Arsenio Hall show line took me Waaay back lol

I would’ve loved to have that reaction from Wu-Tang clan once they finally got the final product for this song an album that would’ve been epic
Was waiting for you to see his tribute in WHAT IF. Knew you would love it...
It was Nostalgic hearing and seeing odb flashed on the screen it reminded me of when his album came out and I played it back to back for weeks lol
That was exactly what I thought when I saw that when watching that night
omg Monq lol all those locals praising and speaking abt the ARMY bombs only they were calling them 'glowing orbs' loooooooooooll I mean the ones I saw!
Thank you very much your always appreciated here we can all learn from one another.
Thank you again
🙏👍😁
Monq, you are a jewel. I learn so much from you. The feeling is mutual. Keep going.
Loved your underground vs mainstream analysis.
J HOPE J HOPE J HOPE J HOPE💜
I'm love so much this show and Hobi so amazing artist 🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇧🇷
thank your reaction, i proud of hobi
full performance epic its amazed me
I've been waiting for part 4. We share the same sentiment. This is nothing like any other group or musicians. They are true artists and what I admire about them is they still work on improving their craft and you can see it. Thanks again and we appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experiences. Boarahe 💜💜💜
He absolutely converted people. I had someone come up and offer to Venmo me $50 to have my ARMY bomb after the show 😅
lmao fr? that's so funny! i wanna know what happened or what did they say when they asked u for ur army bomb 😅
@@TangerineSunshine hahaha army bombs are armys' prized possession 😄
Bruh thank you for breaking it down and sharing you’re knowledge about hip hop thing it’s very helpful and very informative for me since I’m a new Army I appreciate you’re time I really do
Thank you Sooooo much

Been waiting to see your reaction to What If since I first heard it, may not be your first reaction to it hut the awe and appreciation and excitement is so genuine ❤️ 💖 💜
I was watching this live and my mouth was open the entire time. I wish I could've made it in person because the energy must've been insane!!
Thanks Monq!! You always have such great insight. Appreciate you and your reactions 💜💜💜💜
Thank you for always educating your listener.
We shouted “Go Hobi” at 42:xx
Appreciate you Monq!
Great explanation about the underground of hip hop. 🥰👍🏻🥰
Ooh child! Things are gonna get easier! That's what it reminded me of
I LOVE your reaction videos, especially this series on Hobipallooza! I immediately subscribed after watching you react to BTS’ nothing to legends videos. I learned so much from your reaction videos, thank you for not only reacting but sharing your deep knowledge of the hip hop, music in general! Thank you! Borahae!!
You're very welcome 👍🙏
I really loved your analysis! Thank you so much for explaing your thoughts so well, I learned a lot from these reactions! And I'm glad you loved the concert!!
You're very welcome 😁👍
Thanks for the heart! 💜
When you have to react to Jhope dancing on vlive, Jungkook vlive 2022 June 16 and Kim taehyung burning the stage with his charisma
Absolutely love your knowledge. I'm learning a lot.
Stage Director: Places everyone!
Shirtless Dude: Oops forgot my shirt!😬 haha 😄
Hobi killed it, straight 🔥 💜
DANG ! i love your review . i appreciate this review a lot we have same opinion about jhope lollapalooza and BTS
i love how excited u were during his headbanging parts lol !!! this rly felt like me watching the live myself on sunday ^_^ !!! also since u r way more knowledgeable than me abt a lot of this older hiphop stuff i learned a lot just watching ur reaction vids to this so ill definitely subscribe :D !!!

Yooooo! Jhope's Just Dance live in Japan was electric! He was so clean on that from beginning to end. You can tell he felt the love that he didn't get in the beginning.
They al ccurse in their music. Check out their lyrics ESP Yoongi but yeah a lot of the rap line songs arrer rated E. Korea wouldnt allow them to perform RunBTS and another song on telly because rated E
My keyboard was going off with excitement. Lol sorry
Not all. Only Rappers.
yes his mic he introduces himself as j hope of bts.
Oh ok i wasn't sure 😁
to be honest i came here just to hear you rather than the topic lol ,couse i got ASMR when i hear you talking!!
LMAO
The H and O in Hobi is pronounced like you're saying the first part of hope, so it's said like hoe-bee
🔥💜🔥
You Say It Like Tobi! But It's Hobi!🤩😂😘💜
Out of BTS JHOPE isn't that appreciated as a rapper. Many see just that he wasn't in the underground and because of that underristimate him. He is my fave rapper. Hobi has the Hip Hop in him already because of his dance background..So yeah I am happy people are appreciating him more these days :D
i cant say id drop bts if any of them started talking abt how much money they have or getting bitches bc tbh i like that kind of music too so id eat it up from them \^___^/
yes, it's his Bangtan mic :
Dave Chapelle kept his soul too
