Thanks Wazza, really enjoyed your motor show video. The wife’s looking to buy a car to keep at the house there. Maybe we should take your advice and get an MG!
Thanks Wazza, me thinks most of the brands are Chinese, i had a chinese van and it rusted very badly within 2 years, had a real battle getting my money back, lucky we have reasonable consumer laws in Aus. Looked at a Merc van, servicing was crazy $$$, like $1700 for the 3rd or 4th service. Mechanic i know said don't buy one unless you have a dealer close by in case of break down etc, especially electrical faults. Ended up getting a Toyota Hi-lux, couldn't get a Hiace in Aus at the time. Electric vehicles cost a lot to produce and the batteries are a fire hazard, i will pass on EV's.
Yes, Thailand imposes substantial taxes on imported supercars, which can significantly increase their final cost. The total tax burden on these vehicles can reach up to 328% of their declared value.
Yes, there are customs excise duties, tariffs and other addons to keep Thai jobs valid. When I did my calculation 8 years ago, it was around 180% the market value (calculated by them). I'm not aware of any changes in these taxes, but they do fund the roads building and maintenance.
Thank you for sharing enjoyed watching this.
Glad you enjoyed it David
Thanks for the tour of the show , I say ford, MG, then Izusu
I sense some nationalism there Robert!

The MG, for me, was the winner 🏆 by miles.
They are a stylish car for a reasonable price!
Absolutely do a video on the Royal Enfield. Take a super meteor 650 for a test ride and do a review.
Ok, I'll see what I can organize.
Bruised ribs bruised ego but ready for another go at it (maybe 😂). Good video Wazza and good show!
It's a good way to spend the afternoon!
@@ChanyaAndWazzaThailand I'm game. Give me 3 weeks.
I would really liked to have seen the Toyota Fortunner
To be honest, the Fortuna was furthest from my mind given we had one a few years ago. Great work horses those!

It's a good value for money, particularly if you can get a deal at the motor expo.
Do you miss Oz at all ?
I have more good memories than bad ones. Miss defines living in the past. I prefer the memories 😁
I had bruised ribs for a week after that go kart session 55
Jerry was worse off!

Is there a huge import tax? Some of the exotic cars are almost double the price in south Africa.
