Have not commented for awhile, but wanted to say thanks. You make a compelling argument for using Tiny Tim seeds. Like your comparison and date stamp video style.
Excellent video. How do you prune the so they don't get too big? That would be a useful video. Also, can you start some after 60 days in the same Aerogarden so you don't have to wait 90 days for another harvest?
Somehow in my house the Heirloom Red cherry tomatoes from AG grow bigger fruits than the Tiny Tim. I wonder if it is because my Tiny Tim plant is over a year old, while my AG heirloom tomatoes are only six months old. Good video
Great videos! I am new to the hydroponic gardens. I noticed you have tin foil over the why is this? Also, what type of food do you give your tiny tims? All i have are the two containers of food A and B that came with the unit.
Thank you for your video. We are struggling with our tiny Tim's they grow leggy and bloom but die off . We upped the nutrition to 10ml A and 10ml B per liter and have seen 2 tomatoes grow. No where near the harvest you have had. We have 2 plants per aerogarden so not to overcrowd them. Any help would but great, please.
Hmm... I never grew tomatoes using AB nutrition. I'm not sure if it is a nutrition issue. Maybe try changing the water. May I know where did you buy the seeds? I heard of a few issues with Tiny Tim seeds bought from Amazon. My reliable sources are seedsnow (bit.ly/40u9kQe) and migardener (migardener.com/products/tiny-tim-tomato).
great comparison. ( your plants grow so good. i noticed they are trimmed quite a bit since the beginning- i think mine may have too many leaves, and that is why it took so long for me to see any results. at day 120 i finally have 3 tomatoes that are changing color! i may eat one tonight.
Very interesting video! I will say that I have a pack of unopened aerogarden brand cherry tomatoes, the “salad bar” mix with both red and yellow. The box says that the red variety is “Red Robin”, and the yellow variety is “yellow canary”.
That's interesting. Thanks for providing this information. I have grown Red Robins and they have grown pretty different from what I got from Aerogarden's pre-seeded pods. Red Robin were always growing over 1 foot.
No problem! Perhaps it’s possible that AeroGarden alternates the type of heirloom cherry tomatoes they use. If you still have the box(es) that your heirloom cherry tomatoes came in, it should say the variety on there.
"42 day" tomato variety is slightly bigger than normal cherry tomatoes. However, the plants also grow slightly big but can be managed in Harvest models. I have videos about growing "42 day" variety in both Harvest and Bounty models.
Baxter Cherry (Burpee Organic)...the plant can grow up to 3ft tall but can be topped at 18in. It will need to be staked though. Only problem is it grows wide 12-18 inch circumference. Might be a good candidate for LetPot Max 2 cell grow tray. I am growing the plant now in a 2 gallon bucket using Kratky and a 50 watt grow light.
"42 day" tomato variety is slightly bigger than normal cherry tomatoes. However, it's not exactly micro dwarf and the plants grow slightly big but can be managed in Harvest models. I have videos about growing "42 day" variety in both Harvest and Bounty models in my channel.
This is a good comparison. But I do find them to be different tomatoes while the plants may be quite similar in size and yield. The AG cherries I’ve grown have been more pink than my tiny Tim’s and they do NOT taste the same. Tiny Tim is way better. I have noted that on my box of AG cherries it says they are a blend of varieties. So I wonder if they change the varieties they put in the pods from batch to batch. I agree with your final assessment tho. Just grow tiny Tim’s. They are delish. Great tomato flavor.
Takes patience to collect video for 90 + days, good one!
Sir, you have GREAT ideas for experiments ! 🍅
I have the AG Heirloom Tomatoes, and I had wondered about the Tiny Tim. Thanks for doing this.
Thank you for this science experiment!

So nice of you. Thank you, Matt.

Great comparison video.
Thanks for the good video😊
i was thinking were the same!
much appreciated you did this experiment!
Good comparison video. I like to save my own seeds, so no need to buy except once. 😊
I got some Mighty Minis for Christmas. Thanks for sharing!
I was wondering the same thing. Good experiment!

Hmm, that's interesting. I normally see tomatoes in various sizes from both varieties.

Yeah, gentle pruning definitely helps the fruit development. 3 tomatoes on day 120 is definitely super slow.

Ewww I would love to see that experiment!! If you have a channel please put it under my comment. Thanks a Zillion!
@ivorykeys1566 thanks. I do not make videos. I just have some time on my hands and need something to keep occupied.
Do you have any tips for seed saving with these tomatoes?
Yeah, I have a video on seed collection. Please check this ua-cam.com/video/eqKjyak8HCc/v-deo.html
Is there a micro tomato variety with large fruits? I remember seeing a type once that had both small and some larger golfball sized.

Thank you for that input 🤔👍
Aerogarden 's MEGA cherry is an entirely different tomato 🍅, correct?
That's right. Both plants and the tomatoes are slightly bigger.
