I was on search for ideas for Rubicon II-inspiration (have three of them) when I hit your video. While looking at the use of Planar, I thought: Wait, what if the Planar would instead vector around different waveforms which would then go to the TZFM-input of the oscillator? I would try....but in the end, I don't own a Planar and am WAAAAY too lazy to work around that with shifted LFOs and VCAs 😀
It’s a great patch you described, I already did it and it’s pretty fun. I find this one described here to be super satisfying instantly, more than the fm one you suggested, but for sure try it out, even cross fading with two sources instead of four ;-)

@@Stazma I currently only went with hardswitching the modulators . But yes, fading between different waveforms sounds quite nice!
