Even In the past with Hashi vs Madara with full nine tails. At no point was he ever trying to tank any of those. And he could only surround himself in his wood style for the smaller ones.
The bigger ones from kurama even made Hashirama afraid. Which is why he had to quickly subdue the nine tails.
Only difference is that vs Madara, Hashirama could actually subdue him because he was outside of a body.. now he is inside of Naruto's body and more focused.
That's with Naruto's peak power. If we are just talking about the Naruto version fighting juubito, pretty sure full power hashirama would be on par with Naruto while not splitting his Chakra among clones.

I love how people forget how utterly broken Kurama becomes when he has a Jinchuuriki. His abilities become exponentially more broken, which in turn means that Hashirama never faced a true Nine Tails other than his wild and physical form. He faced a genjutsued Kurama. Granted he was covered in Majestic Attire, but I personally don’t think the boost was anywhere near as big as Naruto and Sasuke combined Majestic Attire Kurama. Let alone, Kurama going from physical form to Jinchuuriki (and being cooperative and friendly with his host).

@@striker6255 it's a good theory, but the clone has it's own will and the original only knows what happened to the clone only when its destroyed.
So it's about the amount of chakra u give to the clone that will keep it going. And we saw that even his clones can collect natural energy and get to safe mode! "Wont talk about bijou chakra even" so it doesn't make sense by any means for naruto not to be able to maintain a single ordinary shadow clone. It was 100% for the plot so they have sthg to mumble about.
no one well in battle your adrenaline is through the roof so even if you do experience something mentally scarring you prolly gonna fight through it but when you’re sitting at a desk 24/7 doing nothing but work with you endorphin and adrenaline levels at -1828283883 then yea you’d probably be too worn out to sustain a single shadow clone
