thanks! wavetrap can help maintain the frequency response by suppressing unwanted signals or harmonics that might otherwise affect the antenna's performance. wave trap also helps maintain the antenna’s impedance
The S11 parameter in antenna measurements is a measure of return loss, indicating how much power is reflected back from the antenna due to impedance mismatch. it is in dB on a logarithmic scale, and represents a ratio where the reflected power is less than the incident power. A very low or very negative S11 value (e.g., -20 dB) indicates good matching and minimal reflection, meaning the antenna efficiently radiates most of the input power.
Hello Sir. Would you share the "plans" according to which you made the antennas? And how did you manage to match it so good (the immpedance) ? Do you know what effect does the pitch (spacing between the turns) has on SWR and impedance ? I saw om calculators that with same number of turns/gain it would result in wider beam, but that seams like a "free lunch" and I know theres no such.
Hi, I wanna build my antenna Is it that hard to make a good antenna for long range? (+10km) I didnt have any back ground in Electrical/Signal. Is there any guide to make a helical antenna? For me, the factory made ORT antenna 12turn is so expensive ($50)
@Indonesia01ian making an antenna is not that hard but having it properly tuned to a specific frequency is the hardest part. For long range it is very important to have it properly tuned or you lose the range
@@asangaghi thank you for the response I really appreciate it Currently I am using ORT Pagoda antenna for my AKK Race Ranger 1.6W 5.8G and Akk diversity module I plan to increase my footage range Could you pleasr explain a bit more abour "tuned" our DIY antenna? As a begineer, I didn't really understand the proper way to make our own antenna
@@Indonesia01ian To tune an antenna you need an antenna analyzer or a VNA. without that you dont know how well your DIY antenna is tuned to 5.8G frequency or it could have higher SWR value due to impedance mismatch. Foe short range like 2.3km tuning is not that critical but to go 10m or beyond tuning becomes crucial. if you buy a proper brand name antennas like foxeer, ,aple, TBS , those come with properly tuned from the factory.
I'm making a helical antenna too, and I'm wondering can you go too wide? I have made a 5 turn coil with a copper wire 3mm thick. Is the thicness too much?
Thickness of the wire does not affect the performance of the antenna that much. If you can bend the 3mm wire to get nice tight rings then i dont see a problem with using it
What is wavetrap and what does it do? Also, why does 5.7Ghz in your display goes downwards instead of upwards? Great video!

@@asangag Thank you! I'll subscribe from your youtube channel :)
Impressive swr! can you make video about tuning?
@@silagribov thanks! Will try my best if time permits
Hi can I use 5G Wifi Repeater CPE as my Antenna?
you can but wifi repeaters are heavy and consume lot of power as they are not designed for RC use. so it will drain your battery fast !
Amazing results man. Can’t find you on the Facebook to text you directly. Are you in Australia as well?
Thanks man, yes im in Sydney, on Facebook too

Hi sir you have recomended antenna fpv omni and directional?
foxeer , tbs, trueRC, rushFPV are good brands and have well tuned quality omni directional and directional patch antennas

Thank you for the quick response, I hame managed to bend a coil very close to specifications of another video and we'll see how it goes
What is the name of the measuring instrument?
Its called VNA analyser
