What Is Thermal Printer ?
Thermal printing or direct thermal printing is a digital printing process which produces a printed image by passing paper with a thermometric coating, commonly known as thermal paper, over a print head consisting of tiny electrically heated elements.
What is the ink of thermal printer?
There is no ribbon, ink or toner involved with direct thermal printing. Instead, the printhead applies pressure and heat directly onto the surface of heat-sensitive thermal paper. The thermal paper reacts to the heat of the printhead, blackening when heated and producing an image or text.
What is in thermal paper?
The thermal paper consists of base paper and a few special coating layers. On the surface side the recording side, the precoat layer and the thermal layer are coated.
