Hello guys! As I mentioned in the video this is the first time that we have every done any bathroom makeovers so I would love you advice. Any mistakes you made that we can avoid. That would be so helpful as we have NO idea what we are doing. Stephen is calling to book in a bathroom fitter today. HOORAY! x
Emily Norris had genius idea - put your dials for your shower at the end of it where you get in. That way you don’t have to lean in to turn it on and then you have to avoid it as it’s coming on or get unexpectedly wet!
If your bathroom wall downstairs with the toiletries hidden in is a stud wall with a cavity in you should be able to add a tiled shower shelf and maybe get rid of the current one. We have all black fixtures in one of our bathrooms and have no issues with it (even with hard water) we just do little and often cleaning in there rather than one big bathroom clean so there isn’t buildup xx
Hard water is particularly bad in our area, I really struggle with staying on top of it. 🙈 We made the mistake of getting very angular taps with a completely flat top. The water just sits on top of them.. As a result of using so many cleaning products, our taps have now bubbled! 💔 Black taps sound like a nightmare to me for the same reason! 😂 X x x x
Adding in my opinion here 😂. I’d swap the ideas of the bathrooms around. Bigger shower upstairs and no bath and then the nice pink free standing bath downstairs as much more room.
We did slightly rough tiles so they are non slip and they are big, easy to fill the space then and the same tiles on the floor and walls so looks seamless. Sensor lightbulbs was game changing for us too.
The upstairs doesn't look big enough for a full sized bath but you could get a shorter deeper one. Big tiles all the way in both-less mould and mank in grout.
I managed to watch a whole video with no interruptions 😮 it's a miracle lol I have big tiles upstairs and down - 2 bathrooms and kitchen and after a couple of years they all cracked, and they are cold under foot compared to vinyl x Cannot wait to see the transformation of Erin's room 😎 great video as always xx
If you can get draws under the sink , easy to see what’s in them plus it you get a fitter to see if they can get the bathroom bits as some can get it trade and pass the discount onto you too .. good luck so exciting x
Hello- I have just sent you in a video and photo through instagram. We went big for sink but it’s too big. Lol The single tap in the middle doesn’t let the water come to the edges- so when the kids spit out toothpaste it doesn’t wash it away! Also we did marvel effect wet wall sheets- not considering the pattern on each is different- and doesn’t match like a wall paper would.
As the partner of a tiler I would recommend using epoxy grout as its waterproof, long lasting and doesnt get manky like traditional grout. Less scrubbing! I'd also recommend floor tiles as they are much more hardwearing and give a better look, luxury feel & add value!
Watching the B&M part and glancing out to my garden wishing for sun. I currently have a cardie on and the heating during the day !!! What is happening to this weather.
We have the most comfy loo seat, we re bought it when we moved house. Loo seats matter! We had one of the waterfall style taps. Big mistake! Limes ale was a real problem.
Definitely put the insert in the shower 🚿 it's absolutely 💯 the best thing, no crap on the floor or shower caddy hanging off the shower head, I put in hooks when the tiles went in for a flannel or shower puff etc so glad I did , and storage on the walls so everything is hidden , put in as much storage as you can without it looking to much , good for re-sale as well, I was going to go with black taps back and forth in the end I just went with the normal taps just a bit more stylish , I may change them but I just couldn't make up my mind lol 😊
Oh Emma you are going to be in my husband’s bad books. I am in the process of searching for a new bath. That photo you put up with the pink bath is totally my “vibe”. Husband hates pink. But I know I will win. 😂 Your plans sound amazing. Cannot wait to see the transformation
Hi we are in the middle of a bathroom redo too I share your confusion 😂 as a suggestion why don’t you have a walk in shower upstairs and have your freestanding bath downstairs where there is more room?? They are both lovely rooms love your ideas ❤
According to my allergist, the fabric on allergy friendly pillows and duvets has a tight enough weave that it doesn’t let dust mites in. Also, it’s down-free and some people are allergic to down. So if you have dust allergies or down allergies, it’s what you need.
I have had 2 bathrooms done in last 12 months and had black taps etc best decision ever they look stunning and no problem cleaning but it does depend on if you are in a hard water area! I am also in Birmingham so hope that helps you? Xx
@@brummymummyof2 by the sounds of it we have very similar taste ( except for the pink)😂 I had a white bath with black claw feet. I contemplated putting in the niche in my downstairs double shower but didn’t, I was put off by you tube videos showing them filled with water and discolouration to grout etc, I just put things in a basket in the cupboards for a minimal look. Majority of my bathroom were from Better Bathrooms and Victoria Plumb. Can’t wait to see what you choose xxxx
Emma whatever ypu go for my advice woukd be get as much as you can through top cash back. I made heaps by the time I'd got bathrooms suites tiles etc.....
Hi Emma I’m the same as you something attracts me to wicker and all the baskets 🧺 in the shops but there is only so many baskets you can have in your house unfortunately lol 😂 xxxxxxx
We got a bathroom company to come out and give us a quote. They designed a layout I hadn't even thought of. So we stole their plan and bought the stuff ourselves and got someone to do it for us that was much cheaper.
I think I might need the pink cushions with the daisies, so pretty! You can definitely get all different sizes of bath online, we bought one that is standard width and slightly shorter length for our little bathroom. Works perfectly and still big enough to stretch our legs out x
Your criticism of the downstairs bath is an adult can't lay comfortably in it, so you want to move the bath to the upstairs one? I don't know the measurements of your upstairs bathroom but it looks prrrrretty cramped. I don't think you'll be able to have a big enough bath to lay in up there either 😅

One thing I regret doing is having the sink tap put in the wall! Always bash my head on it when I’m washing my face!!
Adding in my opinion here 😂. I’d swap the ideas of the bathrooms around. Bigger shower upstairs and no bath and then the nice pink free standing bath downstairs as much more room.
There is no room for a bigger shower sadly!
Is it because of the slanted ceiling?
We did slightly rough tiles so they are non slip and they are big, easy to fill the space then and the same tiles on the floor and walls so looks seamless. Sensor lightbulbs was game changing for us too.
We did the same, matching 600 x 300 mm tiles on the floor and walls x

You could hang your dressing gowns on wall hooks. 😁

Hi I’m a new by from Wolverhampton I really enjoyed your content x
Thank you x
We had black tiles in our old shower and I hated it. It was always grimy looking. Black fixtures should be fine but I wouldn’t do go with black tiles.

Hang a pretty tea towel off the hook in the kitchen…
Morning lovely, I got coloured tea lights from B&M xx

You're a wicker mam 😂

We are going to have a deep one so you can sit up in it if that makes sense? It will be high x
I wouldnt go for a little bath, very uncomfortable and not an enjoyable experience...
Try for a bath/shower combination downstairs
