You must admire the song to play it so well such a good rendition ! It must take amazing guitar work to play such an intricate and personal song. Well done !
Dude, a very polished and professional cover of what I think ranks as one the greatest guitar instrumentals of all time. Everyone knows as Carlos has said many times. He feels it (the song) come into him, relayed through his fingers and out his guitar which is an extension of himself. He equates many of his songs as a spiritual experience while playing them. Well Mr. Salguero, I definitely felt the vibe as you played this one. Thumbs up!
Steve Hernandez thanks so much for your kind words. I have spent a lot of time trying to go beyond just knowing the notes and trying to mentally get into the songs Iike this one that I most admire. An imperfect but rewarding labor of love!

You've got it 'Nailed'. An Instrumental I 'want' to Nail Down as well. I'm a Lefty. Been Working on it. It's 'too bad', that some of the more Challenging 'Passages', on the Lower Pitch Strings, you Pull the Neck 'out-of-View', on the 'very ones' I have the hardest time with. It'd be 'wonderful' if you'd just do a 'How To Play' Video, as well, with 2 Screen Images? Just an 'idea'. Thanks for Sharing. Namaste`,
It's in a 'few places'. Starting at the 2:00 in. Do 'whatever' is 'easiest' for 'you'. It 'tends' to be the 'Faster Runs', in the Mid-to-Lower (Pitch Position) on the neck, and you are just 'getting into it', and Pulling up, Slightly. Don't go to a lot of Trouble. I'll just have to keep working on it. Again, thanks for even considering it.
Hace un gran intento, pero es un tema que como quedo grabado no podrá ser superado... Ni el propio CARLOS SANTANA ha podido superase al track que grabó en CARAVANSERAI.
You owe one !!! engrave with my name ???? !!! When !!! still waiting ,, if i see u in heaven !!! I would want the guitar and take u to the neares coffe place and thats all !!!
bit late I notice, but here you go... :) www.guitarbackingtrack.com/play/carlos_santana/song_of_the_wind.htm www.guitarbackingtrack.com/bts/Carlos_Santana.htm
Nice playing and yes it's true and not a rumor Carlos cried when he first heard the recording playback. Neal and Carlos both played and traded licks and solos.on "Song Of The Wind" They both played Gibson Les Pauls Cherry Sunbursts on that track Neal's one got ripped of later on. About your playing dont get me wrong just a hint try to get some more emotion into the song sometimes it sounds a littel bit flat it's like you've got a basket full of fruits try all of them not just one.
Thanks James - using fingers instead of picks gives a multitude of ways to vary the tone - using nail, pads etc. to get the emotional resonance of a song.
+JSalguero I've always preferred the sound of fingers as well theres very few times I will use a pick. this really was a great job I remember when I played elect ric a fewyears ago just trying to do everything without a pick and you've got it maybe I'll go back and try it
Check out Samba Pa Ti and others on my channel for no pick - including a thumb-only approach to my solo on "24 hours at a time" by Marshall tucker which is how Toy Caldwell played! He was amazing
I'm a huge Santana fan, and just came across this incredible cover of one of my favorites. Absolutely awesome cover!
Thank you for the kind words!

Young Man! Pretty Good Job! I wanna be like U,lol
Very good. You couldn't get much closer to Santana than that
Thanks Russell....quite a compliment! For those asking about the backing track its from bobbysbackingtracks.com they are exceptional.
I'm a big fan of Carlos Santana's "mellower" music like Bella,Moon Flower, and Aquamarine.Have you mastered either of these?
Moonflower is on my channel! Enjoy......
Thank you Maya --- very much appreciated!
BRAVO
It is REALLY hard to know where Neal and Carlos solo---I thought I used to know....
It's in a 'few places'. Starting at the 2:00 in. Do 'whatever' is 'easiest' for 'you'. Sterling McVay I’m traveling now but back on the 15th. Check in with me then and let’s see what I can do to help
Hello, this is my favorite Santana song . I don't know the reason , this song remember me Jimi Hendrix instrumental song Pali Gap... Kinda wind x sea
I had never heard Pali Gap -- thanks for turning me on to it!
Nice cover! I love it! Can you give the website for the tabs if you have it? Thank you!
Sorry Enrique, I don't have tabs!
+JSalguero Thank You anyways.

You owe one !!! engrave with my name ???? !!! When !!! still waiting ,, if i see u in heaven !!! I would want the guitar and take u to the neares coffe place and thats all !!!

Fantastic, congratulations, sounds just like Carlos! What ampli did you use?
Santana rollie schon composers
Amigo ensenala a tocar porfavor la sacaste?? Con tabs???
People remember Neal Schon compose and originally play this song not Santana
surprised to see this was done without a pick I'm just a intermediate classical guitar player but I would never attempt this with one finger
Thanks James - using fingers instead of picks gives a multitude of ways to vary the tone - using nail, pads etc. to get the emotional resonance of a song.

+JSalguero will do
Hey did you record this backing track or is it available somewhere? Love your playing very much!
Very nice - add more vibrato in some key spots and you'll inject even more life to it.
what is the guitar?
52archimad I am not sure, but it looks like a Pensa Suhr to me. Check Mark Knopfler, for instance the Mandela concert (1988, with Clapton).
ok gracias muchas gracias
Super cover but needs a pick for perfection.
