Yeah. I used to collect comics and I have Carnage #1 It's a beautiful life I think it was called. Basically some therapist/psychologist enter Carnage/Kletus' thoughts. There was a scene where there was a pile of dead Spider-Men, some hanging from a noose and Carnage keeps cutting them in half, guts and all spilling out. Yeah, It's probably the goriest (fucking spell check changed it to horniest, lol) comic I own.
Yeah agreed people said that It can be good without an R Rating but that’s just false. We all know Venom 1 and 2 would’ve been WAY better if it was R Rated.
I really wanted that as well, the only downfall wouldve been that my friends and I would’ve needed to sneak into the movie or lie about our ages since we’re all 13 - 15 lmao. Our parents are all busy, and we don’t really want an adult to watch with us.
Spiderman on PS1, that fucking final stage when Carnage Ock chases you used to terrify me. Carnage is legit one of the few comic book villains that really comes across as disturbing but he needs to be aimed towards a more adult market.
I thought when Shriek said “you’re going too far” or whatever she’d scream and harm Carnage enough to weaken him and Eddie would finish him somehow, but instead she starts screaming and Venom knocks her off the church killing her. If they were making her have this sudden change of heart I thought they’d redeem her character and make her a good guy, considering she just helped Venom/Eddie.
I didn't get what was up with that. Also the bell just landed on top of her, but it's yknow, a bell..? So isn't she just inside of it?? Might just be the PG-13 but it felt like a super weird way to "kill" her off. Also in the comics, Cletus/Carnage as well as Shriek very much see more action than this arc, they're recurring antagonists for many, many years, Shriek first appearing in 1993 then just now dying (who knows if temporarily or permanent) in 2019. Are they really gone for good? Hopefully we can see them Rated R in the future. But it's the MCU and they only have so much time to spend on characters, so who knows.
I fully agree with the need for an R Rating...it's Wolverine all over again... Slap a PG rating on a character that has blades coming out from between his knuckles...you get a mediocre The Wolverine. Fully indulge into the character and give the movie an R rating with a mature story, gruesome violence and good writing...and you get the masterpiece that is Logan. First Venom was a 3/10 for me, just because of Tom Hardy and his banter with Venom. I haven't seen this one yet, but given it's 1h30 and has PG...I expect it'll be the same, maybe just maybe a 5/10 6/10 because Woody Harrelson is also in it.

The thing that was cool about Carnage as a character, was that he was so bonded with his symbiote, that he didnt use "We". He was one character, not Cletus Kasady + Carnage.
Mild spoilers: Yeah, i was kinda confused how they completely flipped that dynamic for the movie-- they kept parts like how the transformation into Carnage is full body vs just coming out as a suit, but then he lost because their bond wasn't strong
So, it wasn’t really that you missed it, just that it wasn’t really _clear_ : She was talking about Carnage’s literal size when she’s like “Baby, that’s too big; you gotta tell him to stop.”
It is normal for most psychopaths to have an obsession with something, including some people, so that "love" isn't, in fact, true love. I hope I helped to understand (But yes, probably the writers didn't thought on it)
cletus kasady should have been more like hannibal lector from silence of the lambs, calm and unnerving but when carnage comes out, it becomes pure chaos

I took my younger brother to see this last night. Thought it was hilarious that everyone cares more about Venom than Eddie. But that battle at the end was confusingly good. Also Woody Harrelson just channeled his 2012 character.
I would've love to have venom struggle to keep up with carnage throughout the film, having their first battle end in a loss for venom and make the final battle worth it rather than killing off carnage the first time they actually meet.
So spoilers ahead just an FYI. my two cents I guess. The whole conflict with Eddie and venom I think was really cliche with the dynamic duo having an argument, leaving, realizing they’re co-dependent, and join forces again. I personally wasent satisfied with the death of Cassidy because it felt like venom killed another goon because I never felt bad or attached to Cassidy in any way much less his girlfriend, yeah we heard his tragic backstory but it was so underwhelming with the animated letter type thing. Carnage was definitely kept in a box, especially in the ending fight scene: like Charlie said with the off screen murder really made carnage watered down too much, like the prison scene they really just scratched the surface with carnage and his ability so the ending fight just seem dull and lifeless. Again with another cliche of “oh the bad guy has us totally beat” “No he doesn’t because we’re a team” Just another nit picky thing venom was complaining the Eddie about how carnage “is a red one” and he’s over powered yet doesn’t explain why or how. Anyways thanks for reading this far if you did.
i don't know what he's talking about, that water in a toilet monologue he just made up was the best thing ever. robably because he's such a legendary actor that he could execute that line so well
I agree, the movie is fun the people that think it’s "disappointing" or something are putting expectations and complaining for something that isn’t there
See I don't mind the PG-13 rating, but they should've built up the story more because there really are ways to work around that rating and the writers DID smooth out edges with the banter but not the build up between Venom and Eddie or Carnage and how that was caused. They do not flesh them out until the fight scenes and it feels more like 'Oh we're fighting now? We're friends because of this.' and it's very one dimensional..
This movie is like PG-13 рoгn, where you just see a montage of pizza deliveries and nothing else happens. So you just left extremely confused and put your tutu back on.
I thought they will explain a bit more about Carnage. I went to see it with my girlfriend and after the movie she was like "So the red guy was Venoms son? Why were they fighting and what's special about him being red?"
Cleatus was done well for the most part. Carnage and the Symbiotic relationship is terrible. A couple changes I would have made: 1.) Remove the pity party part of the movie. That is not who Kassidy is and its just weird. 2.) Fletch out the screamer and give her a personality 3.) At the wedding scene the most Carnage thing I can thing of is something like what happened in Carnage USA. Force a bunch of hostages to watch the wedding, make them do something grotesque like pulling teeth for the ring. 4.) Give the Symbiote more dialogue and make it actually disturbing like saying "Yummy" in that crazy ass voice when he kills someone instead of this 2 bit mobster that he sounded like. 5.) No killing off screen. Overall I see Kletus and Carnage as 2 sides of the same coin. Kletus is the cold and calculated killer while the symbiote is like his primal instincts if that makes sense
I miss the days when Venom and Carnage were actual scary, at or at the very least, intimidating characters I genuinely cant take these guys seriously anymore, and it sucks Hopefully, Spider-Man PS5 does Venom and/or Carnage justice
Venom was always intimidating and Carnage is scary, I mean a literal super powered serial killer. Also I Don't know about the PS5 game, seems like they are going more in the Ultimate universe direction.
The moment I heard Venom called himself a loser in the first one I immediately hated the directors and writers and had no confidence or care to watch Let there be Carnage. I'm glad Charlie calls it without soying out for no reason, Good work man.
I mean, goofy and weird has been Venom's whole shtick for like 25 years in the comic book so it makes sense that they'd adapt the character faithfully. If you don't like or know the character that well that's fine, but at the core level I don't think there's anything wrong with faithfully adapting the weird shit and awkward, goofy tone of the source material directly.
I think that these movies could have some decent potential if they were to ever be “rebooted” like with the suicide squad, even if they weren’t able to change much, I think that the R rating would fit these movies miles better than the original. The first one wasn’t terrible, I enjoyed it, but I feel that R would fit Venom’s somewhat edgy antihero persona better
you see charlie, venom: let there be carnage isn't an action movie with two much banter and not enough fighting, but rather an emotional coming out story with an epic battle and beachside honeymoon

@@bernielomax6226 no. Carnage needs blood. Gore. Carnage literally eats people. He tears people to shreds and paints the walls with their blood. Throwing a couple guys around and biting their heads off off screen isn't good enough.
Here’s the thing, I was a fan of the first venom movie. However, after seeing the second one, I was worried that it would actually get panned negatively… but after looking at the reviews it seems that people enjoyed it more because of the silliness, and actually….after thinking about it…it was actually really nice to have a a movie that was short and packed with just enough action and humor that didn’t require too much thinking… TLDR: it didn’t take itself too seriously, it was entertaining, doesn’t require a lot of thinking (like every freaking marvel movie) and help set up more stuff for the future.
@Edward Bolton Most Marvel movies don't require thinking. And if they do, it's a small amount. If you're tripping over trying to understand basic Marvel movies, then I wonder how you'll handle the REALLY morally complex movies.
The reasoning for the sudden change of motive in carnages gf was because she is madly in love with carnage and she can see how much eddie and anne love each other and knows that was the whole reason she was so upset about being in jail for years
For a movie with a villain called carnage he only kills like 2 maybe 3 people. And we also don't see the deaths venom really needs a R rating to work. And making venom a hero is also part of the issue as well.

I haven't seen this one yet, but given it's 1h30 and has PG...I expect it'll be the same, maybe just maybe a 5/10 6/10 because Woody Harrelson is also in it.

my two cents I guess.
I mean every f studio is obsessed with pg 13 rating , I hate this . Wish they would not just force movies to be pg 13
@@muqxxt yeah like the kids they want to watch this movie won't go home to play violent video games or watch graphic content. PG-13 or not kids know how to distinguish reality from fiction (unless they use TikTok then they lost)
I mean Venom was never really a "Bad Guy." He was a villain of Spider-Man because the Symbiote was jealous Peter Rejected it and Eddy Brock hated Peter. Venom just wanted revenge against Spider-Man. He has mostly always been an anti-hero, especially after Spider-Man and Venom made a truce.
Somewhat of a spoiler but
When Shriek says "that's hot" to cleetus turning into carnage that was the point where I was jut like "huh...they know their target audience"
Carnage should do what his name implies he does, but there was almost none of it.
I mean the part where he breaks a bunch of people out of prison and murders cops doesn’t invoke at least a little carnage? What about when he brings down all the helicopters surrounding him and using the car as a podium to destroy everything. I’d say they delivered on the carnage but an R rating would’ve enhanced it.
@@bernielomax6226 no. Carnage needs blood. Gore. Carnage literally eats people. He tears people to shreds and paints the walls with their blood. Throwing a couple guys around and biting their heads off off screen isn't good enough.
@@pizzaguy8844 he literally ate spiderman's child in one of the comics (or possesed him i don't really remember that right)
Here’s the thing, I was a fan of the first venom movie. However, after seeing the second one, I was worried that it would actually get panned negatively… but after looking at the reviews it seems that people enjoyed it more because of the silliness, and actually….after thinking about it…it was actually really nice to have a a movie that was short and packed with just enough action and humor that didn’t require too much thinking…
TLDR: it didn’t take itself too seriously, it was entertaining, doesn’t require a lot of thinking (like every freaking marvel movie) and help set up more stuff for the future.
@SS S you seem like a very reasonable and level headed person
When do marvel movies ever require a lot of thinking?
@SS S tl;dr, didn’t ask, ratio plus you’re white
The story suffered however because of that, a movie can't jist get a pass for adding humor and action.
@Edward Bolton Most Marvel movies don't require thinking. And if they do, it's a small amount. If you're tripping over trying to understand basic Marvel movies, then I wonder how you'll handle the REALLY morally complex movies.
The reasoning for the sudden change of motive in carnages gf was because she is madly in love with carnage and she can see how much eddie and anne love each other and knows that was the whole reason she was so upset about being in jail for years
I saw an IGN headline that said that the new venom “is good, but not great” and I couldn’t agree more
For a movie with a villain called carnage he only kills like 2 maybe 3 people. And we also don't see the deaths venom really needs a R rating to work. And making venom a hero is also part of the issue as well.
"For a movie with a villain called carnage he only kills like 2 maybe 3 people"
Were we watching the same movie? Lmao
@@johnnyboi8684 A lot of the killing from carnage is just off screen and when they are on screen they always cut away. And Cassidy says he’s going to get out and cause carnage but he only says it and doesn’t actually go out on a killing rampage.
Only thing I liked about this movie was that one scene where Carnage tells us what movie we are watching on the tower. That was legit awesome
Everything in the movie happened so fast that when it finished and I exited I literally needed to clear my mind and make sense.
I loved when Woody Harrelson said, "I'm like water in a toilet, Eddie! I'm Toilet-Water Cletus!"
Post credit scene was dope as hell
I hope to god there is some kind of "snyder cut" of carnage, something to give all of this potential some meaning
My favourite part about the movie was the secret ending when Venom saw Spiderman on the TV for the first time in 20 years.
Just Wait for the directors cut…
Carnage is one of my favorite comic villains. Wish he'd get an R rated movie
I agree with Charlie here. The first movie was Eddie and venom learning how to work together. And the second movie was venom and Eddie learning how to exist with each other. Now that both of these hurdles have been overcome. Eddie and now know how to coexist and work together efficiently, hopefully leading to the next movie to blow the first two out of the water.
Kinda like the first two Spider-Man films now that I think about it.
Deadpool 1 and 2: *laughs in rated R*
I was howling in the theater when carnage bit the priest’s head off and said “power up” lmfao
I want an entire 10 hour movie with Eddie and venom argueing on why ocean is soup
The end credits scene was the best part of the movie
Venom is my favorite character in marvel and I wish they didn't make it PG13 because they don't show off fully how animalistic venom and carnage is
This movie would’ve benefited from a longer run time, great movie nonetheless.
Yeah it felt a little short
mediocre*
Great is a massive exaggeration. It was decent at best.
@@snnnaaaaaakeeeee4470 nah yall just expect every movie to be godly it was a great movie
@@IAmFleek That's not true at all. You people just throw the word great around like it's nothing.
Anyone else reminded of Spiderman 3 with the whole Cathedral Bell thing...
Whenever carnage did that tornado thing in the prison that was awkward editing..
Yeah that part sucked ass
If they want to sell tickets so bad, they should just make a T rated cut for theaters and release the M rated cut to the market
Spot the gamer
@@Jupiterninja95 Sorry whahah, used to the ESRB system, which is also for games
I fucking lost my shit when the lady tried to call out Venom to be the big sexy hero or something holy fucking shit I almost passed out in the theater
The only explanation throughout this movie was just "because".
Why did cleatus choose Eddie?
Why is venom at a rave if he's weak to sound?
Because it’s a fun movie and none of it’s real
