WOW! As I listened and watched this video clip, the first thing that occurred to me is how close the music resembles one of the music in my hometown of Onicha-Olona. Quite interesting! Despite centuries (nearly 500 years) apart since my ancestors: Oba Ohrogbua of Benin Kingdom and his younger brother Oba Ugbeh of Onicha-Olona Kingdom formed Onicha-Olona Kingdom, the same set of musical instruments used in Onicha-Olona is still in use in Benin and more interestingly, with similar beat as egwu inwene and amala dance. Not much has even changed. Indeed, years may pass but well valued traditions and cultures are ageless. I am, humbly, proud of my origin. La mogun my people! Great job, Princess #Pat Usoh
Thanks mama this story I have been hearing it since my childhood but the yorubas and enemies of palace will always say the contrary. Am proud of my edo kingdom.
Pat Usoh her gyration dance, and her sings are unbeatable! She is an Edo icon forever!!!
