The whole point of a 2 handed operation is to ensure that you don't become complacent and start putting your hand where it shouldn't be. Fitting a pedal switch is dangerous as your foot and hand coordination could be out of sync. To change the switch is very bad advice.
@@lardy70s Wholeheartedly agree. Accident & Emergency depts are no stranger to those who take shortcuts and bypass safety devices with power tools - and we (at least in the UK) have to pay for the treatment of their idiocy.
The way that stuff splits so easy, you could split it with a hatchet much faster. It pops like a watermellon! Your wedge is dull when it pops like that and flies to the sides!
Elm meet Titan. This really is a beast. Handled 250mm lengths of 300mm round elm with ease. Didn't "pop" them or split cleanly but split nonetheless. These rounds have been extremely stubborn and taken multiple hits with a decent sized maul/using a wood grenade. Titan just tears into them leaving me to pull the last fibres apart by hand. Thanks again for video, it helped me make my mind up and not disappointed. Buy! :-)
Was looking at this model but wasn't sure it would split logs this width. So thanks for this. It's helped me make up my mind!
Its a great bit of kit👍
Ordered. Thanks again!
Would this cope with freshly cut oak?
I split about 2 tons with ease.
@@fiveminuteman awesome thanks 😊
How do you mod it so you dont have to use two hands? I heard the guy John Yale say this in his review.
I think he had to wire in a momentary switch or something, let me know how it goes.👍

What is it like with knots in the wood etc
It will split and push the outside of them. If you try and split directly on a knot it's a bit like trying to use an axe on a knot.

Lol, much easier with the splitter.
Thanks for the video, looking at buying one of these, and hoping it might just cope with the dreaded elm!
The machine is an absolute beast. Will have mine out again soon sorting out wood for next winter.
@@fiveminuteman I collected mine today. Will let you know how it copes with elm 👍

@@jonmace604 i still split the odd bit with a splitting axe, but when processing a whole tree i leave it to Mr Titan.👍😉
I want one !! 😂
it's a great bit of kit
