    Amazing. Love the joy on your face as you play this.
    I grew up a HUGE Triumph fan, but was a little too young to see them in concert. I am incredibly thankful that I had the opportunities to see Rik perform with Dave Dunlop twice in the last few years in a 300 seat theatre. So, so worth the cost of a ticket!!!

    Very nice. Hold off on the haircuts for about a year and you'd have Rik's awesome hair from back in the day...
    I've been listening to Rik Emmett for as long as I can remember and it's always nice to hear someone do one of his guitar pieces justice 🎸

      Hey Ben, Thanks for the laugh, if I grew it out now it would just look old and scraggly, lol. I usually cut it in the spring when I start getting corporate gigs and need to look respectable, lol.
      Great to connect with another Rik fan, thanks for your positive comments I really appreciate it! Cheers

    Dude you play that as well as Rik. Your smile on your face is exactly what that piece does to me. Whenever I get stressed out or anxious I play that tune in my head and it works better than a Xanax lol. Any suggestions on a good fingerstyle guitar? Thanks man God bless.

      Hi Bob, thank you so much for your positive feedback, I really appreciate it! It's always great to hear from another player who is into some of the same music. Even though I've learned so many songs over the years there are some pieces I keep coming back to, like Petite Etude. As far as fingerstyle guitars, there are so many great guitar makers, it's hard to know where to start, lol. I have been playing on Cordoba and Taylor guitars now for a few years and I like both brands. Good luck with your search and keep playing. Cheers

    Dude, its really a pleasure listening to you play. You look like you're really enjoying yourself too. Are you mainly a fingerstyle guitarist? I play with my fingers almost exclusively. Every time I pick up a pick I end up tossing it. What guitars do you play. I am looking for a great guitar for fingerstyle (steel and nylon). I don't have very large hand either. Any input is greatly appreciated.

    • @eddiepatonmusician6534
      @eddiepatonmusician6534  3 роки тому

      Hey Frank, thanks so much! I do mostly gig on acoustic and tend to play on nylon & steel acoustic a lot more than electric, although I do love to crank up the tubes. My main acoustic guitars are Taylor and Cordoba models. It’s always tough finding the right fit for your hands, I like flat necks but everyone is different. You definitely need to try out a bunch of different guitars, which is hard to do right now. Good luck.

    I always enjoyed this song and would like to learn to play it. Where did you find the sheet music?

    • @eddiepatonmusician6534
      @eddiepatonmusician6534  2 роки тому

      Hi Brian, I learned this over 30 years ago and I no longer have the original sheet music, which I believe was from a book of Triumph songs. Maybe check with Rik Emmett's website first to see if he has it available to download. Good luck in your search.
