Thank you for that interview. I enjoyed that far more than I was expecting. I'm 70 and remember his game show. I lived in North Hollywood in the 60's and KRLA was the station to listen to(oh, KHJ too). I'm in sw Washington state now. I love your interviews! Thanks again 🙋♂️❤️🏍💨☝️
The great Bob UbanksI I grew up watching the Newlywed Game! I used to watch it back in the 60s. I remember when it aired every Saturday night at 8pm on ABC. I remember it came on right after the Dating Game which I never watched because Adam-12 came on at that time. The Newlywed Game also came on in the afternoon which I would watch during summer vacation. What I love about the show believe it or not was seeing the curtains. the silhouettes of trees against a pastel of colors. I thought it was beautiful looking. In addition, I remember back in the 70s when a buddy of mine invited me to spend the weekend. (we were friends from school) he lived in a gated horse community in Calabasas known as Hidden Hills. Bob was his neighbor and I got to see him driving by in his Cadillac. Silly, but I never forgot it. Thanks for posting this wonderful interview.
Loved this interview and always loved Bob Eubanks on Newlywed Game and also Bob doing the Rose parade with Stephanie Edwards for year. Around 1973 or so my High School friend who I doubled to the Senior Prom with was on the Newlywed Game sometime. I had lost track with him, and just happened to see him on the show. Within a few years I found out he "came out" and got divorced and moved in with his boyfriend. I'd never had a clue when we were in High School. I'll bet there are many others that happened to. Ike and Tina Turner review, by the way, performed at my high school in SoCal when I was in 10th grade.
Fascinating interview. I almost forgot about the Cinnamon Cinder. His heart may have been with C W but his rich musical legacy would always be KRLA and his promotion of the 1960s pop, soul and folk scene
Thank you, John for this wonderful interview! Bob Eubanks is one of my favorite game show hosts! I watched “The Newlywed Game” and “Card Sharks” all the time!
Wow‼️Thank you so much for all these wonderful stories Bob and John. Always watched the Newlywed Game. Of course The Beatles are my and my husband’s favorite band‼️❤ Bob has done so much with his life. Very smart guy😊Can’t wait for Bob’s podcast and book.
Thanks Rozzy, my pleasure! Bob really is a surprising guy especially with his tie-in to the Beatles. They are definitely one of my favorite bands as well!
Thanks, I think my interview with Bob surprises a lot of people, including myself becuase most people have no idea how influential Bob was in the 60's and 70's music scene.
Another top interview John. Bob certainly has had a great career and many fun stories. I'm pretty sure he was in the tv series Mr Belvedere I only saw it a couple of times I may be wrong.
I never knew Bob Eubanks was in the music business. As a lifelong Barry Manilow fan, he acknowledged that he was a brat in the early days of his career. Thankfully I believe he has come down to earth over the years. Bob has a knack for hosting. Loved his work.
I think you are one of many who had no idea about Bob’s time in the music and what an amazing time it was! I am sure Barry changed like many people do.
I feel I must apologize to Bob for Barry & Elton because I am also gay and we are not all like that. Sadly, I do know those personality types & I understand what he dealt with. I'd like to think they got better over time & they would apologize to Bob today. Bob is a legend and I love hearing his stories. He was great on the Newlywed Game.
Hey that was the 70's and people certainly do change, I like Barry Manilow and Elton John and would hope they would have changed as we all do with age.
John you were right, we loved it!! It was great hearing from Bob and all his different things he did. We had no idea he had been involved in music to the extent that he had. We always watched the Newlywed Game at home and I loved the looks he would give the audience when a silly answer would come up. Thanks again John, that went by way too fast :)
In the spring of 2015,I was fortunate to see Bob interviewed at the NY Fest For Beatle Fans-He talked about how he landed the hosting gig on "The Newlywed Game"-He also talked about arranging for The Beatles to play at the Hollywood Bowl in 1964-Interesting person!
The Newlywed Game is an all time classic. It only worked because of Bob's ironic wit. I remember it fondly as l watched from my living room sofa as a kid in the 60's.

Great Stiries!
I agree Cheryl, I doubt most people would know all the things Bob was involved with😀

Bob was the glue to the show.
Looks nothing like he used to.
Very true but amazing to listen too.
